It was meant to be! My love for the art of spoken word and local talents brought me here. I spotted Terminal 8 over a month ago but I wasn't sure what it was exactly. Most nightclubs in this area are disguised. Little did I know I would be visiting and I would enjoy myself. A friend shared that she attended an open mic event here each Wednesday by CitySoul. I found the event and came by last night (Wednesday, 5/18/2022). A $7 cover charge is required at the door for the CitySoul event. I thoroughly enjoyed the spoken word, standup comedy and live music. Terminal 8 is a nice cozy vibe. It's clean, inviting and spacious. The outside parking lot which is not in the top neighborhoods did not seem like much, but this spot was a good time and it was my type of scene due to this event I attended. There were high top tables, couches and sectional style seating. The bartender was professional and receptive. I was able to order my usual dirty martini $14, which was really good and not overpowered by olive juice. I also had one Truly for $5. Go check them out!

This place is sooooo cool! Plenty of parking, kind staff, cool management andddddd they have THE best events throughout the week! Plenty of space to accommodate your party. Went there on Wednesday for City Soul Cafe Poetry and open mic night! Dope place to share your thoughts with some down to earth people! (No judgement, all love) Chill VIP type of vibes and clean bathrooms! Yup! Go in for a spell, you'll love it!

Good reason to come back. Started with prickly pear margarita with mescal. Yum! Had a white wine after. It was ok. My friend and I shared 4 bruschetta's- smoked salmon and pesto, artichoke, caprese, and apple, Brie and fig. Favs were smoked salmon and apple and Brie. The fries were amazing. Salmon board was good too. The bread on the board was much better than the bruschetta. Ambiance is great. Service as well. Will be back!

Their roast beef panini is on par with Portillo's a long standing Chicago beef restaurant (IYKYK). I've NEVER had a beef sandwich that was better than Portillo's but Postino you managed to take a hometown classic and elevate it to a point beyond my expectations - if you get this sandwich I recommend getting it on the ciabatta bread versus focaccia. Let's not overlook the tomato soup - it's so rich and flavorful. For a lighter lunch my go to is the tuna panini with broccoli salad. They are known for their boards, I've not had the bruschetta yet but it looks delicious. My favorite board is the hummus. One thing I hate is when a restaurant gives you a big bowl of hummus and not enough pita. That is not the case here, you'll get pita, toasted bread, and a variety of vegetables to scoop up the velvety humus covered in cherry tomatoes, red onion and feta. For date night enjoy a Violet Femme a gin cocktail that tastes as lovely as it looks. The service here is top notch! Everyone is fantastic. I'll have to come back to this review to note the serves names we've had because they have all been exceptional. Now let's talk about the vibe! Postino's nailed the indoor/outdoor feel. Plenty of windows that are open on nice days, plants galore and the decor gives you a cool like rockstar but classy feel. 5 stars doesn't feel like enough.

The staff who greeted us was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were sat with the stipulation that there was a reservation behind us in an hour and a half which was very doable for us. I do not partake in alcohol so I was appreciative of the zero proof menu options. I ordered the Jesse and it was sweet but sour, it balanced itself very well. My fiance loved his old fashioned with an orange and fig bourbon. Our waiter was direct and down to business, likely because they were busy, but a great waiter none the less. The food was excellent! Elevated American bar food that was cooked to perfection and had some nice fusion flavors: sesame tuna with edamame, goat cheese, walnuts and a special kind of beet that made my salad fresh and earthy. Truffle and onions with smashed burger dipped in bubbly cheese is a comfort food dream. Same with the Mac n cheese with bacon, really tickles the indulgence fancy! I do recommend this place, especially if you have friends who love bourbon or other kinds of whiskey!

It was very tart like cranberry and not very strong. I also ordered the grilled chicken sliders no mayo or tomato. It came with two. They were tasty. Slightly overcooked, but the cheese helped enough. I also had to order fries on the slide, which was slightly disappointing because the two sliders are already $15 and fries $8.50, even though I didn't order the side sauces that come with it. It felt $2 overpriced in both instances. I don't know if I'd get again, but the fries were seasoned well. My fiancé ordered the braised pork shoulder. The meat was tender and had a decent flavor. The mac and cheese was okay, nothing special. Overall, the dish was drowned in too much barbecue sauce to the point he felt he was eating more sauce than the entree. He subbed sprouts with fries, which were tasty. He wouldn't order again. It was a big portion though. Service was good. Music was okay, a bit random, but still fun.

On Mondays their drink special is $5 for any draft, what a steal! We all enjoyed a drink and a few games. I love the decor and vibes in Boxcar, the artwork is really punk and cool looking. My favorite game, The Lucky Duck, was broken (the claw wouldn't extend far enough to reach any ducks). I reported this to a staff member and she let me pick out any 2 ducks I wanted! The Pokemon pinball was fun too, I love the variety of pinball machines.

Tokens are reasonably priced and older style arcade games only take 1- the more interactive or multi player games (think air hockey, basketball, dance dance etc) take 4. They have free popcorn, daily drink specials, and drinks were very reasonably priced. Despite being fairly busy, service at the bar was friendly and fast- I was impressed! Not much else for food here from what I can tell, so don't plan on having your meal here. I brought two teenage boys and we hung out for almost 2 hours- I think I spent about 40 bucks including tokens and a couple of drinks for myself. I really liked the street art vibe, especially all of the murals and the Instagram wall. They've done a great job with ambiance! The outdoor patio adds a lot of additional chill space. When we were there they didn't have a band playing, but I think they do often. I almost want to give it 5 stars, but several of the games were not working properly and ate our tokens. That say you can grab someone to fix them, but nobody appeared available, and I wouldn't have wanted to bother them multiple times anyhow... Would be great if they were proactively checking and fixing them. More snacks would be great too! Other than that it was a really great experience, I would definitely go back.

Movie nerds will recognize Mitch's as the spot where Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins meet for beers in the baseball comedy 'Bull Durham,' while Wolfpack alum will likely remember it as the spot where they celebrated dozens of basketball wins, birthday bashes and end-of-semester parties during their time at NC State.
