Came here a bit early to had a chance to take more pictures and check out more of the airport. -- the rental car building is very close to the terminal and consists of the major vendors (Hertz, Avis, Budget, Thrifty, Dollar) -- no jet bridges, so all planes use portable ramps to get passengers on/off -- free wi-fi worked well and didn't require any PII to be entered -- filtered water dispensers are throughout, allowing one to fill their reusable water bottles. -- no airport lounges here -- there is a dedicated TSA line when entering the secure area -- there are two bus stops. the more usable one (going to downtown Long Beach) is on the other side of parking, past the taxi stands. -- is definitely very convenient for folks who fly Southwest

Trust me I get the job. I get that the majority of people that come through are impolite douches and don't listen. But there's things that need to be worked on like communication of directions and who you're giving the directions to. Don't think that they're going to magically know. I did security in the military. I will say that everyone who was polite yet direct I understood off the bat. Every person that I had to apply the force in reading their minds, I didn't quite get.

The entrance is just to the right after entering Donald Douglas Drive. There are plenty of spaces. We can relax and wait in the car comfortably until our guest is off the plane. Love it!

Flight was smooth,…read moresafe and the pilot's communicated well regarding what to expect upon departure and before arrival. Minimal turbulence. Kid had a rough time & was crying on the plane due to skin infection but I was able to cope through the 4 hour 40 min flight by comforting him at the front of the cabin and we also stayed in the restroom for some time. First class passengers were accommodating for the most part and we had staff that helped with bandages and drinks. I did not get to experience the Hawaiian meal service since I was so exhausted from carrying my child the entire time. Didn't eat at all. Guess I'll have to look forward to that next time. Forgot my phone in row 1 upon landing but their cleaning crew came to hand me the phone after baggage claim ended. Overall the plane ride was good -- service was OK -- and I'm so thankful my family landed safely after enduring 2 hours of a tearful toddler feeling miserable on the flight. At least we had some quiet time for the other 3 hours while he slept from crying too much. Phew - just relieved the entire episode is over.
