I tried to call this company multiple times in my capacity as a manager at a local not for profit. I was trying to get a quote for service for one of our clients. I was ping ponged between residential sales and commercial sales multiple times. I was hung up on while they were allegedly setting up my account. When I called back a few minutes later, I was ping ponged between residential to commercial and back to residential for the last time and I hung up. They just do not listen. I was supposed to receive initial service to install termite bait traps at our home that is tenant occupied on Monday May 13 between 8 am and 12 noon. I talked with the tenant and no one came during the time window. I got a text hours later at 4:11pm from number '71096' that a tech was on their way and then another text at 5:45pm that the service was complete with a link to a service report. However, the report showed photos of a different house. I went by the house around 6pm and did not see any evidence of work completed and also confirmed with the tenant that no one came to do work that afternoon. The service would have required access to the back of the house which required the tenant to allow them through the house and into the back patio area. So, service could not be completed without the tenant's awareness. I called the toll free number 855-485-6300 but the customer service rep was not able to answer my questions about what happened today, why the service was not performed and why I received false documentation. I was transferred to a "manager" and left a voicemail. I also called the tech named in the report: Raul Duran at 610-773-5235 and it went straight to voicemail. Later in the evening, at 9pm, I called again and talked with a rep named Denver Young to request the entire service be cancelled and to get a refund. After multiple calls and emails I was finally refunded a few days later No service was performed and I received false information from the tech so I can longer trust Terminix. I would never recommend to anyone. Everyone I talked to was cryptic and unwilling to share information or provide anything in writing to me. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. Recently engaged Terminix to check for mice and replace traps. They came first time on initial visit. Second appointment was scheduled but person came when I wasn't home (not the agreed upon date) and sprayed around the house and then charged my credit card without authorization. They had no intention to come back to check inside per contract. Customer service is an issues so don't bother. Try local small company. Save yourself aggravation. read more

I was charged $2700 for work farmed out to another company. The company itself was fine - did a good job patching the siding where birds were entering and nesting. However, Terminix employees themselves are just garbage. I was told by the salesperson who reviewed the job that a Terminix representative would clean out the area where the birds nested. While the 3rd party patched the siding, the Terminix rep, never came into the office to clean above the ceiling tile. I called them again to get someone in, and refused to pay the bill until they did. Terminix sent a lone representative who had no tools, no ladder and no materials to cover the premises when cleaning. The representative spent just 20 minutes or less with a small ladder. He asked US for a tarp to clean the debris and use OUR vacuum to clean the bird droppings, feathers and more. Staff knew that the rep did not clear the area of debris properly - the insulation had nesting material and was still present when he left. Staff asked him to get a taller ladder to get this area, but he refused and left. Despite that, the salesperson texted me and said "all done" and proceeded to send the invoice. I still refused to pay and sent a detailed report of my staff's experience to the sales accountant. The sales accountant patched me to the manager, but the manager never contacted me. Likely wanting to get paid, the Terminix salesperson called the 3rd party company they outsourced the original patching job. That person and that company is who I'll commend - had I known them from the get-go, I would have called them instead. They did a great job. Terminix did not. The salesperson insisted that I got a fair deal for the work involved. Screw him and Terminix. Please, just hard pass on this company that too big to care. Find a local contractor for the job instead; after all, that's what Terminx did. read more

STAY AWAY FROM TERMINIX!! I'm an elderly guy with breathing and mobility issues, panic disorder and PTSD. A termite tech, Ed, came to my home to 'ostensibly' check my bait traps and check in the basement for any fresh termite activity. He said he didn't see any new damage, but then pointed out some mold spots on the beams and flooring above. I told him I knew about that and would get to it. He went upstairs, but it took me a while as I have trouble walking and breathing. When I got upstairs, I didn't see him anywhere, so I checked and found he'd slipped outside into my breezeway to have a 'private' call to his friend Tony--a pest inspector. I could hear the end of his conversations as I came up behind him. He was saying: "Oh no. He's NOT going anywhere!" in a joking way. I guess because I'm fat and he didn't see a car at my home. Next thing I hear is: "I'm on my way!" Immediately I went into anxiety mode, I was now behind Ed, and I said clearly: "No. Not today!" He ignored me and left soon after. Then suspiciously quickly, Tony, a 'pest inspector' arrived to have a look at my "mold" issue. I did not ask for him to come, nor did I want him in my home. I was starting to feel panicked but also pressured to be courteous and, well, here he was. I went down into the basement with him, and he summed up my very old dried out mold stain as a 'bad case,' and that I "...really should get that treated or your whole floor could fail." Now I was having a full blow panic attack. To make this shorter, I'll just say that I had a full blown attack while he was making an estimate and thrusting his notebook into my face. I thought I was going to pass out and fall on the floor. I signed a contract for $1,652.54. to have my mold 'treated.' Within two days they had an 18-year-old kid (who introduced himself as Jorge, saying "I'm Jorge and I'm 18-years-old, my 16-year-old girlfriend just dumped me. Hmm. Immediately I realized - or suspected - that of course he was under 18. He certainly didn't have a license to deal with toxic chemicals, let alone an EPA Certification. The kid came in without any sort of protective gear whatsoever, and with a sprayer bottle (like you might use to spray weeds with) filled halfway with some light blue liquid and went downstairs. Within between 17-20 minutes he came up saying he was done. I hardly think that's possible. I then found that my PTSD was beginning to trigger as I'd been manipulated by Ed's unethical call to Tony resulting in me buying a totally ineffective job. For any liquid anti-microbial or other liquid treatments to work, the first thing you ALWAYS have to do is to physically REMOVE THE MOLD (by scraping, brushing scrubbing with soapy water. Removing the mold physically should always be the primary treatment! You really need to get as much mold, dirt, dust or old paint off to prepare the surface for any liquid spray treatment to have any effect at all. I did so much research and learned more about mold and mold remediation than I ever wanted to. Long story shorter, I shared my findings with the guy who initially came out. I sent a not so happy email. Before know it, I'm shunted off onto some guy, Terry, who claimed he was here to help me (haha...NOT). Step forward 2-3 weeks and he has not refunded our money as he promised and now has stopped answering my texts or phone calls. After days and days of texts trying to get help, he finally texts me back telling me: "Sir, no more contact. My life doesn't revolve around you. I'm with new customer now." During all this, I called a 'real' professional mold inspector who made it clear I'd been had and I also had to spend $300 on emergency psychiatric visit because my PTSD had been triggered after 5 or 6 years of smooth sailing. So, in short, I was scammed by Terminix and they are shameless about it. Probably because their contract forces arbitration, and they have stated that they are like not liable for, well... ANYTHING! What good are they then. I'm embarrassed and furious for having been so easy to unethically rake me over the coals for some easy money. Allentown Branch is a complete scam and rip off. The day they came out for exclusion services it was raining and they couldn't perform the service. The tech took some pictures and was fiddling with a vent cover that he ended up breaking. They scheduled a follow up appointment to come out and do the exclusion and fix the vent cover but they never showed up. I called 4-5 times and was told a branch manager named Rob Byer would called me back. When he did finally a week later, he had told me the service was done, and he personally came to my property to review the work, which is a complete lie. I have cameras all around my property and he was never here. He told me he would be charging me in full and that he doesn't care if it was done or not. DO NOT TRUST read more

Horrible. They don't show up. Signed a contract for quarterly exterior service and monthly mosquito service. I have no issues with our reg exterior services - it is the mosquito service that I signed up for which has been an issue since the very beginning. Every month is a hassle finding out when someone will show up and then they don't anyway! No one answers the phones. The 3 gentlemen from Terminex who took care of the raccoons in our chimney were amazing! First, Eric came and explained the service Terminex could provide and the cost. He was very knowledgeable and gave us detailed information on the service that would be provided as well as the education of the service providers. We arranged to have 2 technicians come The next morning. Josh and Steve called first and showed up on time. They inspected our chimney and living room and proceeded to capture the raccoons (3 babies and a mom). Steve was very concerned for our safety because the raccoons were not happy about being disturbed from our chimney. Their professionalism was very reassuring. I found what i believed to be either a bat bug or a bed bug in my bathroom in early January and four more dead ones in the hallway near the bathroom. I tore the whole house apart paying special attention to the bedroom, where i found nothing (no dead bugs, shed skins, bloodstains, or bug fecal stains) No evidence in the bedroom whatsoever, which is strange since bed bugs feed on humans while they sleep. I called terminix to come in to identify the pest/problem. The inspector who came was a manager and identified the specimen as a bed bug immediately without using a magnifying glass, simply just using his iPad as a backdrop. I took his word for it because he was confident and he was the supposed expert and they certainly looked like bed bugs to me. He inspected the whole house (though not nearly as thoroughly as i had) and could not find anything but informed me that if i had found these dead ones, there were certainly more and we wouldn't know until we sprayed the house and i better act quick because the infestation can get out of hand quickly. The service was quoted at $2000 which seemed astronomical considering my house is 1300 sqft and not cluttered at all. I was a little skeptical about giving them 2000 upfront and decided to do a downpayment instead and good thing because here's where the fun began. The tech came and sprayed the whole house, and it seemed as though he was very thorough because the whole place was torn apart top to bottom and that's the only good thing i can say about the service. The tech didn't find anything when he sprayed and texted me asking if anyone had been bit and if we had stains on the mattress which we did not. He suggested that perhaps they could have been bat bugs rather than bed bugs because they're almost identical in appearance and we have holes in our gutters where bats could hide and we also literally have a bat box in our yard. He informed me that he would take two specimens back with him for further analysis and give me a more clear answer as to what the pest is. He also informed me that if they're bat bugs, it is the landlords (I rent the house) responsibility to take care of the issue, but if it is bed bugs, then it is the responsibility of the tenant usually. The next two days i heard nothing. I zoomed in on the specimens myself and determined it looks more like a bat bug because of the shape of the thorax and concavity of the face matched that of a bat bug. I could not tell by the hairs because the specimens were so dried out any hairs had fallen off. I reached out to the manager who did the initial inspection and explained why i thought they looked like bat bugs and if the people on his team agreed or not to which he said they still had to look at the bugs and he would get back to me with an answer. That was two weeks ago and i never heard back. In the mean time i took the specimen to a family friend who also treats for bed bugs and he agreed they were most likely bat bugs due to their appearance and where they were found in the house and the fact that we have bats in the yard frequently. He also said terminix had no business spraying my house if they were not sure what the pest was and the severity of the infestation. A week after the initial treatment where nothing was found, terminix called me and asked how the service went to which i explained that i was still waiting for confirmation as to what the pest is and what exactly it is that im supposedly paying $2000 for. They transferred me to a manager in the region who heard my story and then transferred me to another manager who assured me that by the following friday he'll have looked at the specimen and have a verdict as to what we were dealing with. He also told me that he would "probably forget to call me back" and that i should follow up with him on friday (as if im not already working all day). So obviously he didn't call me back and when i called him he just stammered a lot and informed me that certainly by monday he was going to have an answer and that he's going to look at it himself over the weekend. He never got back to me with an answer. I called him the day after he was supposed to call me and left a voicemail asking if they were able to look and give any kind of answer at all, no response. Next i called the main line for my region and got somebody who im assuming is in corporate. He was very apologetic and agreed that i should be given my money back if they can't even identify the problem and its even worse that they told me multiple times they would identify the bug and then ended up just blowing me off (what am i paying for???) So after talking to this guy for twenty minutes he said he would transfer me to some regional representative who would be able to further the refund process. Instead i got transferred to a lady in Arizona who had no idea what the problem was and i had to explain it all for the tenth time to which she gave me the number of the regional office. read more

Terrible service. Gerald was our salesperson and promised a long list of services that the office said they don't do when I called and asked why none of the things in the exclusion had been performed yet. It also took weeks to even get a call back from my complaints. The folks that come out to do service are nice and they do a fine job but the contracts are definite bait and switch. They also sub out work to another company that has atrocious customer service. Save yourself the hassle and money and just go to Lowes or HD for and get some residential spray and cheap snap traps. That is basically what you're getting just paying 500x more. read more

Be careful! This company is a joke. I was suppose to have someone come out to treat my apartment and no one ever showed up! The sales rep never sent me a confirmation email as he said he would and no one ever called me that morning. HOURS after the window had closed the exterminator reached out but at that point I had called and cancelled the service. A few days later THEY CHARGED MY ACCOUNT ANYWAY and told me it would be seven weeks before I saw a refund. Save yourself the hastle and money, use someone else. read more

The Inspection was scheduled from 8 - Noon. at 11:30 I call the 1800 number and ask for an ETA. They said 1pm. They showed up at 2:30, I paid the bill in full. (BIG MISTAKE) The treatment was scheduled a week later from noon to 4pm. I called at 2:30 and asked where the Tech was, "I might get there around 6:30 or 7pm". I said I wont be here, we are leaving for the beach. They asked to come back Saturday, I said no, we'll be at the beach. Nothing was done. I've now missed 2 days of work, spent over $2,200, and have no treatment. After calling a 14 times, the "manager" Jeremy calls and give me a discount for the lost wages of my time off and reschedules the service for when I am out of work, Wednesday 4pm to 6pm. at 5:15 I receive a phone call from the tech saying, "I won't be there until 6:30". I said I have plans, and that's cutting it close. He said he will do his best to get there quickly. 7pm I receive a phone call from the tech, "I'm at your place, where are you." I ask him to set the bait traps outside, and cancel the spray foam inside the house. I am done dealing with any scheduling with this god awful company. I have the "managers" phone number, he won't return my calls. The 1800 number won't escalate it higher then the "manager" (who can't mange to do his job) I have received half the treatment, yet paid for everything. BBB will be contacted. Terminix knows nothing about wasps. They refused to treat the vents that I asked then to treat. They didn't send me the additional info I asked for after service. The technician claimed he was here for 4 hours and it was ten minutes. I have called the call center 5x asking to speak to a manager and have gotten the runaround every single time and have not heard back now for over a week and they have denied my refund request without even calling me back to see what happened. DO NOT use this company. Absolutely unresponsive and doesn't care about customer service. Back in February 2019 I called Terminix to spray for bugs in Allentown, PA The customer service rep told me that I would get a better rate if I signed up for a service contract. She gave me the lower rate for spraying and told me someone would come out to do a home inspection. A service man came out when my daughter was home and advised her of all the "problems' he had found in the house (mice and squirrels in the attic for instance). She told the serviceman he had to speak with me or my husband about this and she could not authorize any services. I spoke to the very insistent and rude serviceman and advised him that I did not want the service contract and I would take care of the problems myself and that I was sure there was nothing in the attic. He even offered to insulate the attic for me (for a price). He would not take NO for an answer. Since then Terminix has called us consistently to scheduled service. With each phone call I have told them I was not interested in a service contract anymore (I never paid for it and never gave them any banking information). They called three times this past Sunday alone. I came home today to find a note on the front door that Terminix came by and took care of the outside. I called Terminix because I had bees (yellow jackets) in my house. The bees seemed to be coming in through the fireplace. They sent an inspector out, but not a technician to remove the bees. I showed the inspector where the bees where coming from and outside the house where they appeared to be coming in. It was pretty clear... He then said, can I look in the attic?... I was wondering why he needed to look in the attic, when the bee issue wasn't anywhere near it, but I said okay... Sure enough he went up there and said that there was evidence of a bat problem... He showed me a bunch of pictures that he said was bat droppings. Whereas, I'm currently unemployed and my real issues were the bees, I said that I wasn't interested in the $20,000+ job to remove nonexistent bats and was only currently concerned about my bee issue, because they were flying around my house. I paid him for the bee removal, but never heard anything back. I didn't get a receipt for my payment and didn't know when the technician was going to be coming out. After two days of not hearing anything, I called them asking when the technician would be out to remove the bees as in my mind it was an emergency. The woman I spoke with on the phone told me that I had been schedule for Saturday between 2 and 4. Having already made plans, but this taking precedence over all else, I switch my plans around to be sure to be here for the technician. 2pm rolled around... Then 3, then 4 and then 5pm... When I didn't hear from anyone, I called them again... They told me that I had in fact been scheduled for Saturday between 2pm and 4pm, but a technician was NEVER assigned. They had no problem finding some guy to come out and try to upsell me, but when it came to doing what I needed done, they were no where to be found. We had them come to our home and spray for bugs and spiders and roaches.they guarranted total satisfaction or money back that we never got back we had them come out 3 weeks in a row for the same problem that was never taken care of.also when called them to discuss the problem the customer service rep.was very disrespectful and when asked to speak with the area manager he was just unhelpful as she was was promised are money back and still have not received it yet and it's been over a month now I am going to get a hold of BBB and file a complaint. First I must say that the man who serviced our house was very respectful and pleasant, the people it's the customer service and the tactics of the company I had a problem with. I was not told that the quarterly price I had went up over $30 a quarter! I canceled the service in the beginning of December. I was charged on my credit card $185 for the November spraying outside my house which took all of 10 minutes. I called customer service and I told them I was charged for the whole quarter payment, but I canceled right after the spraying. I asked to speak to a manager to adjust my bill but no one called me , I called every day since and was told that I could not speak to any manager or upper management, they said a note was put on my account saying that my refund was rejected and that's it there is no one that would speak to me! Beware consumers they are very sweet when you call to set up service but prepare for a fight when you want to cancel, you'll be hit with the next quarter on your bill and no one will talk to you! My mother is an older lady and today she bought a contract for work from a salesperson named Gerald Nyman from Terminix in Allentown, PA. The contract has an overall total cost of more than $16,000. This is highway robbery! My mother is retired and cannot afford that kind of price for pest removal. I can't believe this Allentown store would try to take a old lady for what little money she has. I tried to call to tell them about it, but I was unable speak to anyone on the phone. I can't tell them what a horrible place they are for taking advantage of a little old lady = my mom! They have already gotten more than $500 from her for getting rid of ants, etc. and now they want another $16,000 for a one year "Premium" contract - the is a total of about $13000 but then they throw on an 8% financing charge of more than $3,000 for 72 months. My mother obviously did not fully understand what she was signing or entire amount of money she was being charged. The salesperson, Gerald Nyman cannot be trusted or Terminix. I am trying to get her out of this contract ASAP. Terminix Allentown will rip you off in a heartbeat. It just breaks my heart that someone would do this to my mother. I can't rate their performance, they didn't bother to show up for the appointment nor let me they were weren't coming. This caused me to waste an entire afternoon. As I had told them while setting up the appointment, this was a time dependent situation dealing with the sale of a house. Their technician, Troy, did an application on July 2nd and said to give it a week to see the results. After 2 weeks I called their online number and scheduled a return visit on 7/16/19 between 1 and 3pm...no show!, no call!, no txt, etc.! Called online number on 7/19 to complain was assurred that they would call...no call! Left message on their manager Jeremy's number that was given to my by online operator on 7/22...no call. Left another message on 7/23 on Jeremy's number...still no call! I will go with another pest control company in the future and would advise anyone reading this review to do so! read more

Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced Sept. 11 that his office has reached a settlement--including payments to the state of more than $81,000--with the pest control company Terminix International Co. The settlement resolves allegations that the company failed to consistently provide Pennsylvania consumers with copies of their service and finance agreements and notice of cancellation at the time of sale, as required by state and federal consumer protection laws. Terminix agreed to pay nearly $19,000 to the state government "for the benefit of certain Pennsylvania consumers" who were charged without being informed of their rights as buyers. Civil penalties of $35,000 and $27,500 in costs were also assessed as part of the accord. According to a statement from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, an investigation was initiated after consumers complained to the Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection that Terminix required them to sign an iPad when agreeing to services and informed them that they would receive a copy of the signed agreement via email. However, these consumers reported that they never received the agreements via email. Because state and federal law require that agreements containing financial charges be provided to consumers at the time of signing, some Pennsylvania consumers paid Terminix charges that they were not obligated to pay. "Pennsylvania consumers deserve to be fully informed as to the terms of contracts they are entering into so that they can make sound financial choices," Shapiro said. "Terminix violated state and federal consumer protection laws by failing to deliver agreements to consumers in a timely manner. Through this settlement, Pennsylvania consumers are entitled to restitution for charges they incurred due to these deceptive practices. Our Bureau of Consumer Protection will continue to work to exterminate any instances of companies taking advantage of the people they are supposed to serve." Literally the most frustrating experience I've ever had with Terminix. They have been our provider in three previous homes in three previous states over the last 38 years. Today - I cancelled a contract that I started just last week because I cannot get a live person on the phone. This local office, that advertises they are open 24/7 never answers their phone. You go to a voice mail bank that is attached to three other 800 type numbers and you can never reach a person from this office. I finally got a hold of someone in FLORIDA with whom I asked to cancel my contract (of one week) due to the fact that I still have ants and cannot get anyone from the office or the technician that gave me his "direct number" to call me back. Incredible that you cannot speak to a single live person after calling multiple times on Friday, again on Saturday and again today, Monday. I am disputing the charge on my card because I can honestly say I did not receive the services promised. No one should have to make this many calls or get this frustrated when doing business with any service provider. read more

Do not use terminix!! Mosquito service is a total waste of money but they will never offer any type of refund. We have more spiders now than we ever have after years of having their service. Complained several times and no one responded. Called to complain last night and ended up cancelling service. Awful. read more

A few things. First, I called into your 800# to sign up for flea removal. The inspector came out and told me that the service was for spiders and ants which I told them that is not what I signed up for. So, they cancelled my order and sold me a new one, charging me a second time and promising that my first transaction would be refunded within 2-3 business days. Today it is 6 business days later and I have yet to get my refund. This is ridiculous. Additionally, the pest control guy came and sprayed the floors. He did not fog, he only sprayed. I paid for the whole home to be sprayed and fogged but he only wanted to spray one area. I had to literally make him go back and spray the rest of the home, but he refused to fog. The very next day, I had to go back to the property to do some rehab work and immediately when I walked in I got attacked by fleas. It was worse than the prior day! I called your company back and complained and had someone else come out to do the work again. It has been 5 days since the second service call and I STILL HAVE FLEAS. DO NOT USE TERMINIX read more

Watch out ! They don't fully explain what you're paying for and their customer service is dismal. A manager was to call me back, never called. You wait forever to speak to their "resolution department". That should tell you something.right there. I guess they know what they're doing for pest control, but wow, dealing with them is a hastle. read more
