Over-promise and under deliver. Terminix seems to be a scam. During the onboarding process I was sweet talked into believing that the techs would lake good care of my property. In reality, these technicians show up to house, don't ring the doorbell or announce themselves, and when my wife asked him a question, he was rude to my wife. Consistently, they are not performing the services that we have been paying for. When I signed up, I was told that as part of the inspection, any spiderwebs would be cleaned up, paper wasp nests would be knocked down and any ant hills removed. None of this inspection cleanup has been done and the technicians are only on my property for less than 10 minutes once per quarter for which I'm paying over $50 per month. That's $150 for 10 minutes of walking around our house and spraying the edge which I can see on the Ring camera playbacks. They even email me a generic report that includes their start and stop time, so they know they are not completing a good service. We had ants come into the house a few days after the last service, and I haven't seen ants inside all year. The paper wasps are all over and there are several nests along the gutters which the tech walked under but didn't look up (single story house). Honestly, I think I deserve a refund for this year, but either way, I am cancelling this scam. I just hired Olde Town Pest Service and what a difference. Locally owned, the owner answered my call himself at 7am and came out himself to service my property. Harry Parades explained everything involved, including pet-friendly pesticides without harsh fumes. He spent nearly 2 hours thoroughly covering front and back. I originally gave this company a one star review. However, I do not want to base my experience with one technician on the company as a whole. The manager of the Bakersfield branch Micah was very understanding, apologetic and very professional when dealing with my concerns that I brought to his attention. My technician that I had to service my house for fumigation had a lot of miscommunication or lack of communication however, Micah the manager did an amazing job to go above and beyond for both me and my landlord to try to make our inconveniences as comfortable as he possibly could. Customer service was also extremely helpful and understanding and gave me the proper connections needed to be compensated for the lack of communication on the technicians end. My gma requested a technician to come and spray the yard. He was supposed to show between 8-10. It is now almost 12 and no show. We called to cancel since we have other things to do and can't wait for him to show up. The supposed "floor manager" begins to haggle my gma for card info to give her a $100 voucher for target, walmart etc. and needs her card info which makes no sense still that info is already on her account. She would not listen to me when I said we don't want the voucher and just the service to be canceled. The convo got super aggressive between us she wouldn't listen to us at all and kept going on her script about this voucher. I told her to stop reading her script and listen to what we were saying. I asked for a manager she said she was and told me i was lucky to be speaking to her . Not sure what's going on but be careful! I think I'm current. They claim I owe them a bill from July (how that can be when I've paid bills later than July I'll never know). In May we started with Terminix, First appointment easy, tech showed up on time. Was a breeze. Every appointment following has been a nightmare. It's 30 minutes passed our appointment time for today and still no response from Tech and no one from the Terminix office can reach him. We were asked to wait another 15-20 minutes to hear if the tech will even be able to come. This has happened every appointment since. One was a no show all together. One was scheduled as a inspection but in notes said it was for a spray. That appointment couldn't happen. I was really excited to help get my Vietnam veteran father's home pest free but once this 3 months is over were finding a better and more reliable company. The operators are polite but cannot communicate directly with local providers. After 4 frustrating attempts to locate our service provider, I cancelled the appointment and called a local pest control provider called Game Over. He's professional, knowledgeable and punctual. While I've had good experiences with Terminix at other locations this one on Pegasus in Bakersfield is severely lacking. From the start, the technician did a very poor job. He was not thorough even after he was asked to come back to respray because of continued pest problems. We have a 2400 sq. ft. home and he announced that he was done spraying after less than 3 minutes. (This is not an exaggeration.) Impossible! He did not attend to to our most problem areas, and refused to treat the outside as asked. I have used Terminix in my other homes for over 30 years and was always completely satisfied. My beef with Terminix is not with their service or their technician. It is with billing and corporate. I have been with Termanix for over 20 years. It started in August but I did not receive a bill in the mail like I normally do and ask continued into September. I have contacted my technician and mentioned it to him and I just received a bill for the month of August, which I paid through the mail as I normally do but I have yet to receive a bill for September or October. Two days ago I received a threatening letter saying that I had not paid my bill for two months, and that they are threatening me and trying to say they will take me to collections, I spoke with someone the beginning of the week and that person told me that they have been having issues getting invoices to customers and understand what I'm going through and will take care of it. Today my wife received a phone call from someone saying they were with Terminix and wants to why we haven't paid our bill. My wife told him the same thing that I am just telling everyone here and she hung up on them a few minutes later I received the same phone call my frustration with Termanix is they threaten people for something that the consumer has no control of they need to get their system back in shape like they used to have and quit threatening people. Terrible service in Bakersfield. Last time I had an inspection, the service person had to reschedule three times and didn't give me adequate time to rearrange my schedule. I was supposed to have scheduled maintenance today and the service tech didn't show up. I did not receive a reminder call, a call letting me know they couldn't make it or any other call for that matter. You can't reach a local office, it just goes to the 1-800 number and I've been on hold with them a total of 45 minutes with no resolution. Don't use Terminix for your termite inspection. We called them for Termite inspection on a VA refinance and they would not give us certification unless we spent $15000 in preventative measures. He stayed for hours and hours and tried to make us believe that we were required to do massive repairs in order to get certification. Needless to say, we got a second opinion. We got our certification without spending the $$$. Be careful. Not all inspectors are credible. Terminix certainly were not. read more

I loved Terminix. We had them for 3 years as our pest control services without any issues. Until recently, when our area worker got changed to a man named Terrence. He does lazy work and barely sprays a visible stream. When Terminix was advised of the unsatisfactory work, they noted our account, which he could see and promptly showed up next appointment and made it known he didn't appreciate the call to complain. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and unacceptable for an employee to do this! I called 7-8 times to explain we did not want this man coming back to our house, and every appointment I set up he would call to confirm or show up and I sent him away. Their call center spoke with the branch manager and district manager to try and get us another worker and they refused to send anyone else because of their own staffing issues. I cancelled my services with them immediately after that. The lack of helpfulness was ridiculous. Get rid of Terrence and we'll talk. read more

So I started using Terminix for my business over two years now and every time the technician comes I would pay him cash and he'll give me a receipt and notes that it's been paid so I started getting these bills in the mail saying that I owe for service I spoke with my tech he said he will talk to his supervisor regarding that later on he said it's been taken care of then again I kept on getting Past due bills for service Terminix called and I explain toThem that I am paying my technician every time he comes in and he's noting it on the receipt they said OK they will look into it and take care of it About a month later I got the same call saying I'm not paying my dues I told him this is a problem with your accounts receivable not mine I am doing what I have to do and I'm paying what the technician what he charges . three weeks ago I get a note from collections for an amount that was due. I called my technician and he gave me his supervisor number I called his supervisor 2 or 3 times and left a message he never bothered to call back. I used to use this company for my regular pest control and termite service. Didn't have a problem until it came time for the termite inspections. Harry would be scheduled to come out and I would receive email confirmation and a call regarding my appointment. Harry would take it upon himself to not only change his appointment time, but he would also change the day and time for the regular pest guy and have a different guy that our regular guy come out. He lied when called out on this! I had to take it up to his supervisor who had to come out on his own b/c I refused to deal with Harry. I ended up cancelling my service a few years ago due to all this. I moved and needed a termite inspection and called up thinking maybe things were different since some time has passed. No one will answer the phone or return calls. More recent reviews show this company is just as shady as they have ever been and nothing has changed. read more

Beware of Terminix! I was uncomfortable after my interaction with Justin Robins in September. I got the impression he didn't comprehend English well after faltering on my requests. I notified Terminix customer service soon afterward that I wanted a different service technician. Early October, I got a text from him (that is harassment) that he was on his way for a service call. I informed him I had another technician assigned. Subsequently, I received text notifications from Terminix on October 9th and 20th that a technician was on his way as well as when service was completed. I have video surveillance proof NO ONE showed on both days. When I addressed the issue on the 22nd, after I had seen a dead rat at my front doorstep the day before (never happened over several years of being here), the rep stated that a manager or supervisor would get back to me within two business days. That not only didn't happen, but it still hasn't occurred (very poor follow-through) and it stirred ill feelings about when a previous rep had me enrolled in a yearlong fumigation contract when I only initially agreed to a one-time spraying. read more

Customer need rat extermination, clean up, and replacement of insulation. This was not completed. The customer was told all insulation needed to be removed and replaced. Was told the job would cost around $10,000 but they could do it for $8,200; this would include the sealing of all openings in the roof, the disposal and replacement of all of the insulation, and labor costs as well. On 2/19/2016 the came and repaired all holes and vents , as well as patching a hole around the water heater. Customer was charged an extra $900 for the repairs and inspections, plus an additional $100 for the repairing of the hole by the water heaters. On 2/24/2016 they returned to replace the insulation, but instead of removing and replacing all of the insulation as was originally quoted, they removed only a 5 x 10 section of insulation above the kitchen and replaced it with apprx. 4 in. of insulation versus the 16 in. promised in the original agreement. In total they only removed and replaced 50 sq. ft. of insulation out of the originally quoted 17,060 sq.ft. yet the customer was still charged full amount. Also, Terminix never returned to inspect for rats as was originally agreed upon despite multiple attempts to contact the local and national offices.
