They quoted us $200 -575, and then, said that it would be $575 + $175 + GST so to start with, it was expensive, but who wants fleas, right? We wanted it done fast and they were registered on Yelp and with Better Business Bureau and they had some good reviews... I thought I'd done my research. 1. The guy who showed up arrived on foot with a gas mask and spray container. He said that he parked down the street. I saw him leave by foot with a guilty look after I paid him and I swear I saw him drive past in a taxi! 2. He checked for fleas with his flashlight by looking up at the ceiling in one closet. I said that I had just shaken the bath mats and found one, so he picked one up and shook it. He didn't seem to know what he was looking for and he told us that the pest control spray would attract the fleas and that they would take it back to their nest and that would deal with them. Nest?! Fleas don't 'nest'. I should have canceled the appointment right there. 3. He had us leave the house and came out in 10 minutes. "All done," he announced. 10 minutes to spray all door frames and baseboards in a 2000+ sqfoot house? Well, what do we know. We've never dealt with this before. We've never hired exterminators before.... 4. The lady I spoke to on the phone said that we would need to be out of the house for 5-6 hours. "Sam" (short for "Hassam" from Surrey) said, "No, a couple hours only." Hmmm. 5. My 80 year old mom paid the total bill with a cheque and he left. That's when I returned to see him walking away and then, driving away in a taxi. I called the company back and spoke to the 'lady'. She became very defensive and said that it was up to me to do my research and that was my fault. Then, she said that they have to be properly accredited to be approved by Better Business Bureau, and tried to assure me that it would take time and that they would come back if the flea problem was not corrected by 6 weeks... We ended up hiring another company 2 weeks later as the problem was getting worse. What a disaster.

I initally requested help with a squirrel problem in our atttic. This took about 7 or 8 visits by Hassan to repair/close entry points in our roof, set traps to catch the squirrels, and then several follow-up visits to inspect the attic to make sure squirrels had not returned. During the intial visit and survey of the roof and attic, Hassan pointed out some other issues he noticed: 1) there were several bee nests in the attic ---so I hired Hassan to remove the bee nests. 2) the gutters were full of debris from recent windstorms --- so I hired Hassan to clean the gutters. 3) one of the down pipes attached to the gutter was detached and bent --- so Hassan fixed that. 4) one of the soffits was hanging down a bit so Hassan fixed that. I always appreciate it when someone comes to provide a service and at the same time, points out other unrelated issues that could be a problem. Thankfully, I was referred to Zafar from ASM Pest Control. He gave me 110% assurance that he will get rid of them. I was worried that I would have to get rid of my furniture. Especially as I had purchased a brand new Queen mattress - this would not have been financially feasible. Zafar assured me I did not get rid of my furniture. He advised me not to touch anything as he wanted to come and assess the situation and then begin treatment. The entire eradication process took about 4 hours and he even followed up with me 2 weeks later. I was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism and the ease in which Zafar took control of the situation. Zafir was super friendly and non judgemental and so helpful. It ended up just being an annoying flee of some kind. I didn't use his service because my landlord wanted to do it himself, but if I was the home owner I would have had Zafir do it. Despite only charging me for an inspection, he was so nice and checked back with me to see how things were a couple days later. He even offered if I saw anything, he would come back for 10 minutes to give me advice free of charge which I thought was going above and beyond.

Also note that their guarantee is also the shortest compared to its competitor. We had a squirrel issue many years ago. We hired AAA Wildlife. They got rid of the issue but 2 years later, the squirrels came back. Unfortunately the guarantee is over. Their website says a longer date but the materials are only one year. So 2 years later, we had the squirrels issue again, they came and they said materials are only one year. The materials all came from AAA Wildlife. At the end of the day, we got their competitor to come in and it was way cheaper and their competitor was offering 5 years guarantee on materials and pest free.
