Honestly, 5-star isn't sufficient. Working with Joseph was absolutely the best experience I've ever had with a home renovation vendor and I've worked with dozens of them. Ever. Seriously. I had met with 6 other potential deck installers before Joseph and none of them came close to offering what Joseph offered in terms of craftsmanship, creativity, attention to detail, and thankfully, affordable pricing. Joseph and his crew of 3 went above-and-beyond for our project: a total tear down and complete replacement of our aging, structurally unsafe 2-story backyard deck of about 1200 sq. feet that was neglected for years by the former owner. We didn't simply want to recreate the old deck with new material; instead, we wanted to be bold and design an unique, one-of-a-kind deck, but within our budget. That's hard to pull off, but Joseph was able to do it. Despite losing a few days here and there due to rain and delays on material, Joseph & Co. were able to finish everything in about 2 months. I'm very hands-on with my home renovation projects. So Joseph and I spent dozens of hours scoping out this project, discussing pricing and materials, and project managing the project each day. Joseph always made the time to answer my (numerous) questions and he drove to my home dozens of times to check on his crew's work and speak with me. (He lives about an hour away.) Joseph is such a brilliant, knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy, and conscientious man who truly is passionate about his craft. He constantly came up with creative solutions to develop what I consider a very original deck, from the configuration he came up with to lay down 3 different sizes and 3 different colors of Timbertech deck boards, to installing thin cabling for our railing, to installing a lighting system for the railings and upper deck that perfectly illuminates every inch of both floors at night. He's also a perfectionist like I am. If something was slightly off, he'd work to get it perfect. Since this post is getting long. I'll end with commending his crew of 3 who worked their butts off for us every day. They were professional and thoughtful every step of the way. I can't say enough about this company. Joseph rescued a deck build that I had started with another builder who wanted to make changes to my design to the point that I was not going to be happy with the finished product at all. I had wanted a deck since I bought the house in 2004 and had spent the previous year processing and designing exactly what I wanted. Joseph came and corrected the unwanted changes and completed the deck to my specifications, discussing each detail along the way and assuring that I was happy with the results. All the men who worked for him were pleasant and patient with my daily questions. I am one of those who would rather be outdoors any day. After reading the awesome reviews through yelp I requested a quote. I spoke with the gentleman on the phone and we discussed the design plans. The gentleman requested I text him my information, which I did right away. I have still not received any response via text or through yelp messenger even after sending a follow up message. My wooden deck was damaged as a result of the 2021 freeze, so after dealing with a number of poor contractors, I decided to just replace the entire wooden deck with a composite one. I called Joseph to get a quote, and he walked me through all my options for material (he uses TimberTech), styling, and how that will affect the cost. He even offered suggestions for making the deck more kid friendly by designing it to be harder to climb on the rails or to fall off. The work he and his crew did was excellent; the deck looks great and it's never felt sturdier. Joseph is also responsive to texts and will get back to you within a day at most. read more

Jeez COVID slowed everything down. It was hard to just get a contractor to come out and give me an estimate on building my deck. It's smart to get a few quotes but well I tried. One schedule an appointment a month later to just give a quote smh really. Another pretty much said it wasn't worth their time jeez. Others didn't even respond or give a call back. Well I guess to some of their defense I did originally just say I wanted a roof over my pergola and maybe a deck. Guess I got lucky with Terra Firma. Joe returned my call and came out on the first day. That gave me a good impression and I was feeling good about them after I had talked with Joe. You can't go wrong with choosing Terra Firma as your contractor. They do 3D views of your deck for you to see online which I changed up after seeing it more then a few times haha. They did a wonderful job on putting a roof over my pergola and building a two tone 340 sq. ft. composition deck around it. It's really nice and I'm happy for what I paid for. Definitely would give Terra Firma another call when I'm ready to add to my deck. read more

OMG - look no further as Terra Firma Decking & Flooring is amazing. I had a deck built by another contractor and an engineer told me it was not up to code and built incorrectly. I contacted Joe and I was simply blown away by his knowledge. After looking at the deck he found affordable solutions and had a plan which did not require me to tear down and start over. He came up with cost saving solutions by reusing some material already in place, without compromising structural integrity or quality. Wow, now I can park my car on this deck. Joe and his team installed support beams, hurricane hangers, stair and railing supports as previously they were only being held by a couple screws. The quality of their final product is amazing, I am so happy with Joe and his team. During the process I kept adding additional projects and without hesitation they were completed professionally, i.e. railings, additional supports, fixing a ramp, etc. Look no further as Joe has all of your deck and flooring needs covered.
