UPDATE 7/30/2023 I chatted with Rocky and he personally came out to check the fence and my concerns, along with a couple of other employees. Some changes have been made since I had my fence installed, beams along the middle are now standard for this length to of horizontal plank, to reinforce the middle and mitigate from sagging, and presumably a new lumber supplier was also mentioned. All of my concerns were addressed to my satisfaction and all of the bad wood was replaced, support beams placed on every single panel, gate door fixed and the entire fence was stained after a consultation with me about my preference for color. After everything was done, I had two people come out to ensure I was happy with the final product. I understand mistakes happen, and with this hundred degree weather it's a lot of work to come out and resolve the issue, which Rocky's team did very well! I very much appreciate the communications and resolution and will consider using Discount Fence again for the front yard if I decide to go that route. read more

We contacted multiple builders and after meeting with Melissa, we liked her vibe, she understood what we wanted, recommended modifications to improve the visual appeal, and came back a couple of times, after the initial consultation, to walk through it again, and confirm that she understood what we wanted. Once we said let's do it, the work began within a week's time. The builders showed up early and worked through the day, completing the build in one day. The guys that were on-site for the build are skilled craftsmen. This is what they do, and they do it very well. Also, they were all very nice. Discount Fence USA built the following for us: - Horizontal board on board western red cedar fence, with cap and trim. Length = 71'. Height = 8'. - Replaced the existing single swing gate, and associated section of fence. This was done with vertical pickets, so that it matched our neighbor's fence style, when looking from the street. - Replaced a 14' span of fence and built two 5' outward swinging gates. As with above, this was done with vertical pickets, to provide visual consistency with neighboring fences, when viewed from the street. I'm no fence, or gate, builder, but everything appears to be very well constructed. The additional 10 feet of backyard access, via newly constructed gates, is a wonderful addition. We are genuinely pleased with everything but man, that horizontal western red cedar fence is off the charts stunning. We initially wanted a 10' fence because, you know, not all neighbors are good neighbors, but the 8' fence worked out quite well, as did the horizontal board on board, since it completely obscures visibility into neighboring yards. A day or two after initial construction was completed, we encountered minor complications with the gates. We called Melissa, she spoke with their main office and later that same day, Bubba and Taylor came out to see what's up. I have an uncle named Bubba - he's a good dude. Bubba with Discount Fence is also a good dude and sure as heck knows how to construct a gate. Taylor was with Bubba, to assist with the adjustments. I like Taylor. She was nice and pleasant to speak with. A good pair, those two. Anyway, they spent about an hour here, buttoned everything up and that was that. My husband started repairing a couple of sections of our fence because it was sagging but ran into problems. He called one company (that shall remain nameless) and they did send someone out to give us an estimate. The guy who came out said he'd take the measurements and contact us with a final estimate. He did say that the minimum for their work is $750 and just eyeballing everything it would likely be $850. We got busy with life and waited nearly a week and never heard back from these folks. So we called Discount Fence USA. WOW! What a difference. My husband explained what he was doing and the Discount Fence person asked if he could do FaceTime of the fence to which my husband said sure. From that FaceTime connection, a quote was worked up and a time to get the work done established. In 24 hours this work was completed. And actually, initially it was going to be 2 days and we got a call back saying they could come out the next day. Full disclosure - the project was completed a little over a year ago...... Myself and 5 neighbors got together to redo our fences and ultimately decided on Discount Fence USA. I will offer that DFUSA were the most responsive throughout the quoting process (we brought in 2 other companies). Our decision to go with them was purely based cost....I'm moving soon and it didn't make sense to go all in on a fence that I'd only enjoy for a year. The fence is fine....but not great. There are a few pickets that warped rather quickly and some were a little splintered. I'm not overly irritated about that given that they were they least expensive and it won't be my fence in a year. Once the fence was complete, I had to bring them back in to level out the posts which were very uneven. What was irritating, however, was something that the rep did when they began the project. I requested (and we agreed upon) 5 inch pickets throughout. When the project began, I noticed that they looked a bit smaller. I called the rep to discuss and he acknowledged that they were 4 inch pickets. He advised that they didn't have any 5 inch pickets readily available and since there would be a wait to get them in stock, he decided to send his crew with 4 inch pickets instead.....without consulting me about the change. Candidly, if I did plan on staying in this house for more than a year I'd go with another company. On the other hand, if you're looking for an inexpensive, "OK" fence, you'll probably be satisfied. read more

Avoid - DF lacks skilled labor to install railings. Scope: 38' of guardrail and handrail for 9 steps. Ordeal lasted 9/17/23-1/15/24, at which point we gave up on endless debating and their attempted repairs to cut our losses. * Required replacement of 80% of initial panels and posts, rework started weeks later. * Panel layout was all over the place. Posts and pickets not plumb. * Post anchorage did not meet basic code and load requirements. Anchored with two lag screws/plate, causing top railing deflection of 8". Short tack welds. Screws rusted within days. All had to be replaced. * Metal shavings from cutting wheels to replace shoddy work had been sprayed over the entire composite deck and pool deck. Rusted everywhere. Attempted to charge us for the two trips to remove the rust stains - which never fully cleaned. * Damage to sod, pool equipment box (used as a welding platform), paint over spray on concrete patio and patio support post, cedar lattice, to name a few. * Gaps in return communication for weeks at a time. Over 30 emails to DF, dozens of phone calls and on-site meetings. * Repair crew made several returns trips. Attempts to fix one thing while causing damage elsewhere. * Most costly damage to composite deck by the crew dragging and dropping panels. Burns from welder. 30+ planks ruined. Initially offered to replace but insisted on a release of liability/workmanship. Then offered to drop off materials but we would be out of pocket on labor from someone else. Finally, Sales Director claims damage could not be proven, and homeowner caused the damage to the deck boards and rust throughout the project area. At this point we recognized what kind of company we are dealing with. Visiting "supervisors" acknowledged the company is incapable of keeping up with jobs they are taking on and does not have skilled crew. In a constant repair cycle. read more

DJ set all the wheels in motion to have a 81 foot of fence removed, replaced and stained with in the time span of two weeks.
