This was a great place to live when Andy Elliott was the manager. After he left, it just went steadily downhill. The grounds are no longer kept up like they used to be. Management doesn't enforce any parking rules. People basically do whatever they want with no repercussions. Management doesn't respond to emails or phone calls. Oh, and they value new renters FAR more than existing tenants. I lived there for almost four years and they were trying to offer me lease renewal rates hundreds of dollars more than they were offering to new tenants on Craigslist. Aside from the management, the quality of people who live there has gone down as well. Multiple domestic violence issues, loud parties, police calls, and blatant drug related behavior on a daily basis. It's sad because this WAS a nice place to live at one point. The couple of stars I will give are due solely to Dave, the maintenance guy. He is amazing and deserves better than to work for Weidner. read more

Carrie is right This place is awful I lost all my deposit and more of $2,300 and had to pay $1,200 more because of hair on the window and more right as they lost a major law suit for the exact same thing they charged me for. Andy is all up in your business and is very creepy. He tried to evict us for having a noisy bird then I found out my neighbor had the same and he was military found out he got complained at for the birds and Andy decided to blame us because he wont evict ANY MILITARY he wont loose their business. I heard a ex employee of the company they will yell at their employees and threated to fire them if they give the deposits back they are told to keep it and charge extra even hair that they put themselves if they have to. And F.Y.I they never payed anyone back for the law suit they lost google it... On a personal note my account has no info of who I am I have no personal info on here so nobody knows who I am even the APT complex so again point proven I still have all my paper work pictures went through this already and got nowhere they didn't work anything out with us..... read more

Do not sign a lease with them if you care about your credit. I've never missed a bill payment but some how had 2 bills in collections from this complex while they also took my deposit without ever giving me a bill as to why. I've been fighting the collectors for 2 years now and have gotten 1 of the collections taken off while the other is being dealt with by a lawyer for now. Save your credit! read more

We love living here! My fiance and I absolutely love living here at Terrace on the Lake. We lived here before and had to move due to job relocation, but when we were able to move back our first choice was Terrace. The staff is absolutely wonderful! Andy (the manager) is very friendly and helpful, and quick to respond to any emails or calls. The maintenance man (Dave) is super friendly and will always greet you with a smile and a wave. They are very quick to answer any maintenance requests we have ever had, and they are very efficient in their repairs. Both of our apartments were in great condition when we received them; everything was very clean and it was wonderful walking in the first time and seeing our new place. The apartment community is very quiet and the location is perfect. We are very comfortable with our home, and we plan on staying for quite awhile. Five out of five stars, we love living here and were very glad when we were able to come back. We always recommend this community whenever friends are looking for a great place to stay, and would definitely recommend it to anyone else who asks. This place is such a joke. It is extremely overpriced for the crap you get. Half the time I have to ask my husband to save me a parking spot because there is hardly any. You get one permanent spot per apartment. After a certain time there is no parking and you have to drive around to find a spot. You can barely see the paint on the spots to know if they belong to an apartment. The leasing office plays favorites. Yes,my husband got a few noise complaints. And residents had good reason to complain. But they are too good to knock and ask people to be quiet. Quiet hours are from 7am-9pm or is it 10 PM? Because I was told two different times. As I'm writing this at 1:00 am I can hear my neighbors outside. They actually woke me up. But I'm sure they will not get a notice about the noise they made. I talked to the leasing office about the complaints and he told me that he goes around and asks the residents how we have been. And he believes everything they say without actual proof. Not once have I or my husband been asked how my neighbors have been. I complained a couple days ago about someone smoking in one of the apartments. The guy at the leasing office said he would ask if people have been smoking indoors. And he assured me that no one was and defended every one who does smoke, saying they would never do that. Apparently he doesn't know these people too well. And they believe that they can do what they want because they are on his good list. I still have smelled smoke in my apartment the last two days. And I haven't heard anything back from the leasing office. They haven't followed up with me. I guess they only care when older white folks have a issue with people. I GUESS SINCE I'M NOT A OLDER WHITE PERSON I DESERVE TO INHALE SECOND HAND SMOKE AND HAVE MY BELONGINGS SMELL LIKE STALE CIGARETTES. The chain smoking is so terrible that my throat and nose closes up and gets dry. I have had to buy dry mouth lozenges so I don't choke in my sleep. I'm sure if it was my husband smoking in the apartment we would get a notice about it. As soon as I moved in here there was an issue with the toilet. It leaked water all over the floor whenever it flushed and the water had a horrible smell. The maintenance man told me that in the summer the toilet tank sweats. I guess he didn't care enough to fix it. There was never any sweat on the tank. The toilet just leaks. The sink in the kitchen also has a terrible smell. Nothing was done. I was given stuff to use on it and it didn't help. There is a lady that harrassed my husband and his cousin for months. The neighbors have dogs that just bark and bark at all times. Unless you are an older white person the people that run this place won't give two craps about you. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR ANGER. IT SUCKS WHEN PEOPLE MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE LESSER THAN OTHERS. Then neighbor care is poor. I guess here in Alaska they are used to snow and ice. The ice in the apartment complex hasn't been taken care of at all. WATCH YOUR STEP AROUND THESE PARTS. YOU MIGHT SLIP AND BRAKE SOMETHING. I WONDER WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE DURING THE REALLY COLD MONTHS. During the summer all day and night you hear planes. And some of them are so close the apartment building shakes. ***I'm so ready to break the lease and get out of this expensive crap hole*** THEY ALLOW THE TENANTS TO SMOKE IN THE APARTMENTS AMD THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT IY. read more

Outstanding manager and the maintenance staff get right to your problem. Price is very good and I have been here almost a year now and I'm very happy here. I recommend this place for everyone. I gave them a 4 star and not a 5 because the one problem I have is I'm disabled and stairs are a problem and the bathtub is very small. Other then that I am very happy. read more

My brutally honest review to follow: is this place is at first sight seems so wonderful. I looked @quite a few places and we really did search for the perfect place. I checked all the reviews online and got some good ones along with some bad. all the bad ones I looked at were angry rantings so I thought it was some crazy people and took it with a grain of ignorance. So we moved into our very small two bedroom apt and loved it. Andy the manager was nice and friendly at first but after a few weeks he became a tad creepy. he walks the property every day and night almost to the point of stalking. He is so nice when you first talk but I agree with previous reviews he is kinda creepy. He seems to know way too much about each residents lives to and by that I mean he really does..since he is always watching....ok so the creepiness aside the place is really well maintained and they do keep crime away. I loved the 2 years i lived here except for the fact that andy aka (landlord) is always in your buisness. =example we had a friend stay and he knew he was there and notified us that we were not allowed to let him work out alone. which would be a wonderful thing except for the fact that he magically knew we had a friend visiting and he was never told. all of that aside I also want to warn you any money you put down for deposit will not be returned and also you will be charged more. I had been warned of that as well and thought it must of been really dirty people so i ignored the warnings. We put down a 800 deposit and after 2 years were charged for hair on the windows and a supposed hair in the fridge! we spent a week cleaning our very (already anally clean) house. My honest advice its way to exspensive for the small apartments they offer. If you have money to throw away or want no crime than it is perfect! it is a very safe place and maintained well but honestly I think its cheaper to purchase a home. read more

I love living at Terrace on the Lakes Apartments. The staff is amazing and really takes care of us tenants and even our pets. I love the pet stations that are scattered throughout the complex. I live in a studio and I have a washer dryer/ dishwasher and microwave in my unit. Couldn't find that anywhere else, I bet. Andy is an excellent manager and really cares about his tenants and our pets. My dog absolutely loves him. I couldn't believe it when I came home one day and all of the rocks from winter had been swept up from my entry way. Talk about going the extra mile for us. I have never been more impressed with an apartment, complex staff or just all round community. I plan on living at Terrace on the Lakes for many years to come. read more

First off let me start out by saying I signed the lease "site unseen". I needed to have an address before the Military would move me here. Although everyone I knew told me to stay away from a Weidner Property, I didn't listen. With my credit score and previous rental history, Andy gave my husband and I a chance. He worked with us over the phone/email while I was still in the L48. When I arrived to the apartments to move in I was greeted with a smile and a hand shake. The lease signing was quick(as he had all the paperwork ready and waiting for me). He walked through the apartment with me nota ting everything he seen/ I seen wrong with it(which wasn't much). The community itself is QUITE and CLEAN. Anytime I had something wrong with the unit the maintenance man was there within 24 hours to fix it( && did it right the 1st time). During the winter, they made sure the grounds were plowed and salt was throwing down on top of ice throughout the day. Upon moving out Andy helped me with advice on how to fill holes in me walls(mounted TVS) and gave exact detail on what was needed to move out( to get full return of deposit). The overall experience was GREAT! Perfect for the two of us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property read more
