That said, the billing department needs significant improvement. Communication was very difficult -- phone calls often went unanswered with no callbacks, and responses were typically limited to once per day. Payments were missed on their end, so I strongly recommend tracking everything carefully. Bills were also not sent promptly. Overall, while the administrative side was frustrating, Dr. Owen made all the difference in our journey, and for that we will always be thankful.

I'll also note, unlike any other fertility clinic I've been to, CCRM NoVa allows children in the waiting room, which to some is another marker of insensitivity. Expect competent doctors, but also expect this practice to make your already stressful experience more stressful and frustrating.

After providing the sample at the K Street location, I was called two days later and informed that the appointment was set up incorrectly and I had to reschedule. No apology or explanation was provided and payment was collected. The next appointment was a hour away from my house but I took it. At the second appointment, I was greeted (Rockville location) by a rude front desk staffer who redirected me to a different floor. At the next front desk, the staff was again disorganized and rude. Today, I was told that results will not be added to my patient portal for up to 30 days, despite being told - repeatedly - that the test takes 7-10 days for results to be returned. To date, no one has apologized for the repeated failures of the staff. No one seems concerned that the staff is incapable of communicating effectively or scheduling appointments. Despite promises, a manager has yet to call me to discuss the situation.

After the consultation with him and interacting with the staff, my husband and I trusted him to help us on our fertility journey. Dr. Sharara is very knowledgeable and an expert in the field, which made me feel comfortable and confident in putting our trust in him. I appreciated that he did a very thorough and comprehensive diagnostic work up to figure out the best treatment plan. Compared to the brief experience that I had with a large fertility clinic, VCRM felt like a white glove service. They called me 15 minutes before I was supposed to arrive for my appointment and said the doctor was actually in a different (further away) office so can I drive to that office instead. I said no (I was literally packing my kids in the car to drop them off at daycare and would not make it in time to the other office for my appointment time). They rescheduled me for the following day. When I got home and looked at my work calendar I realized that would not work, called back immediately (maybe 45 minutes after their initial call) and asked for another time. They said no, they can't reschedule me for this week because they already gave me the next available once (what?) I would have to wait another month at least. YOUR mistake in scheduling is not my issue. I was not offered an apology for the mistake. To be fair I am waiting for a call from the office manager to see if we can correct the issue- but still so much stress for a very easy solution....
