The view and service were great and they have outdoor seating. Unfortunately the food was not to our liking with the exception of the osso bucco. The pork ribs with pork rice were really tough and had no flavor other than pork. The shrimp pasta was dry and had no sauce, although it had some flavor in it. It looked great for the photo. My franacisinia sandwich came out like warm along with barely warm fries. I had one a few days ago from A fast casual restaurant in which was much better. The osso bucco was was tender and tasty. Unfortunately, jt was a disappointing meal. The service was EXCELLENT so they get an extra star for that.

By far the most child friendly restaurant we've encountered in Portugal. Super engaged staff, friendly, joking, and poly lingual. It was fun listening to or server engage with the couple next to us in Korean. We sat outside with a view of the Douro River across into Gaia, simply beautiful. We ordered the seafood soup, clams, and the lobster rice. The seafood soup and clams didn't last long enough for a picture but I held off on devouring the lobster rice (it was amazing) for just long enough to snap a photo. Honorable mention that we didn't order is the sea bass - they serve it table side after a brief alcohol fire to bring the salt off the skin. Looked amazing and was a popular dish. This is one of the few restaurants where we want to eat more than once on a trip; foregoing novel experiences for known excellence! It's that good!

Nice little restaurant adjacent to the Douro River in Porto. Everyone in our party of four were happy with their food overall and the staff was very friendly and took great care of us throughout the meal. Considering the great location, reasonable prices and ambiance of their outdoor patio would definitely recommend this business if you are in this area.

Great experience. Got there at the tail end of lunch and received excellent service. Soup was delicious. I had bacalau a bras and my husband had the steak. We were both satisfied. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing, yes it's a long wait so if you don't mind it, then grab a seat by the water to enjoy the beautiful view while you wait. After 45 minutes wait around 2 pm we finally got seated outside. We ordered a bottle of wine and seafood stew for 2, baked cod fish, oxtail stew and extra rice. Everything was just so delicious. The seafood stew took 45 minutes to cook but it is so worth it: everything was just so filling and it was more than enough for 4 people. Generous portion of the cod fish. The bill came under $100 euros.

    Amazing shrimp with pasta

Great first dining experience in Portugal! Don't listen to the other negative reviews. We put this place to the test and they came through. We were super jet lagged and slept through our reservations at a different restaurant. We stopped here as it was close to where we were staying. It was busy but they were able to seat us right away at a 2 person table. The staff was super friendly, made great recommendations and was super quick and attentive given how busy they were (8pm on a Sunday). We both had the seafood soup (amazing), split the shrimp with garlic (heavenly) and we shared the shrimp pasta (I was so happy we went shrimp heavy because it was amazing). Great flavor, shrimp was not over cooked and the pasta was cook perfectly. Overall a great dining experience. I will say we saw some people get the fish salad and the whole fish and it also looked amazing. I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat... in-fact I already said I would be craving the shrimp with garlic when I got back to the states.

Food was ok but nothing too special or unique. Located just off the waterfront in Porto, service was good...

Such a fun place for our first meal in Porto. We had two types of verde wine. Both were tasty and crisp. Oysters are amazing (and very large!!) Bread (which is grilled so more like a crostini) and salad was great to start. For the main course we enjoyed the shellfish rice (more like a stew/jumbalaya) and the octopus. Delicious and highly recommend. Food was probably an /10. Service 10/10 with our server Joao. Ambiance was a 10/10 hands down. Patio overlooks the water and it's gorgeous. We stayed through sunset and were fortunate enough to see the pretty lights and enjoy the live music. This place is a must if you are in Porto!

Cyndy's Bottom Line: Excellent food and a view. A great place to have a leisurely lunch or dinner to take in the view, people watch, and enjoy the delicious food. This is what we ate/drank: A pitcher of lemonade. So freshing, with a light natural sweetness. A thirst quencher. The cod fish fritters were excellent. Fried perfectly golden brown. Fish soup was amazing. Hearty and delicious. Grilled octopus with onions, garlic, olives and potatoes. The octopus so tender and nicely salted. The chocolate cake so decadent and divine. There is walnuts and a caramel sauce center. Cafe Americano - good.

Honestly one of the most memorable meals while I was in Porto. We were originally going to eat somewhere else and I'm not sure why we decided on not going there anymore but I'm SO glad we didn't. We came cross Terreiro and liked that some of the locals were recommending this spot. You still get the amazing view of the Douro but it's not right by the water like some of the other restaurants. Vegetable soup: very simple, but delicious. Shrimp in garlic sauce: O M G. Sooooo good. Remembering this shrimp dish I ordered another shrimp dish at a different restaurant and was so sad it didn't taste like Terreiro's. Grilled octopus with potatoes: Again, so good. Best octopus dish I've ever had. I don't like octopus dishes. Tried one in Paris for double the price I paid here, only could eat 2 bites of that one. The octopus here was so tender, with the perfect flavors in my mouth. Super affordable and so tasty, with a great view. What more can I ask for?!

Around noon, someone did show up briefly to post a sign out front saying they were going to be opening at 12:45 that day (I asked out of curiosity; sounds like it's *often* 12:30, but it's really mostly a "they'll open when they want to" kind of place.) I knew it'd be the sort of place that would fill up immediately, so I got back at 12:30. At least that day, it turns out they still had 1 table left after they sat everyone there before they opened - that last table got claimed at 1, 15 minutes later. It's not a large space, and word is out for good reason. Given it's not a large space, it was also easy for them to have excellent service, which they did. You could tell they were all passionate about the place, and again, for good reason - it was great. Definitely one of the best meals we ate on that trip. Between the two of us, we tried: Complimentary bread and olive oil. One OMG fantastic, wonderful fish soup. The sort of soup you'd want to eat every day if you could. Croquettes that were pretty good. Enjoyable enough, perfectly crispy, a little too salty. Not nearly as memorable as everything else. The seafood rice stew for 2 - a description I always question ("for 2"), but true in this case. It was quite large - and great. Excellent shrimp, which I'm picky about. I'm even pickier about shellfish (clams, mussels, etc). I was expecting to give my wife most of them, but I did *not* do that. They really know how to get and cook the best seafood here. The rice at the top of the stew wasn't anything particular to mention - filling, though, and warming for the drizzly day it'd been that morning. The rice at the *bottom* of the stew, that'd been slowly cooking in hot stew the whole time, was *very good*. :D Wine-wise, they have like a hundred bottles of wine by the whole bottom, some very expensive, some *surprisingly* reasonably priced, but we also didn't need a whole bottle of wine with lunch - by the glass, they just had one red and one white house wine (also solidly priced, though, for a place like this, 6 euros (Be way more than that in the US. I had the red with the stew - solid.) Also a handful of solid-looking ports by the glass, one of which I had with dessert, a reserva tawny for 6.50 euros. After eating the stew, my wife tapped out. I was also pretty full, but I'd spent a lot of effort getting here and I was *gonna* have dessert, darn it. Had what was basically just a whole roasted stewed apple, cooked down until it turned to pudding. Super good. Went really well with a reserva tawny port. This place was great.

Luckily for us the restaurant was only half full so there was no need to wait (weekday at 3pm). Odd hours for popular restaurants worked out the best for us on this trip. Inside there were just 8 tables so I can see why this place usually sees long lines outside. It was quite cozy. Menu was straightforward with appetizers, seafood and from the country (aka meat). The octopus rice was so good. The strips of sliced octopus were very tender and the flavors of this dish were delicious. It was comforting on that cold and rainy afternoon. The salt crusted seabass selection was delivered the with flare all covered in flames. Our server ignored the flames and proceeded to crack open the salt crust, fillet and debone the fish. Full service! The fish was meaty and perfectly cooked. The side of potatoes and broccoli was addicting and I normally don't eat a lot of potatoes. We skipped dessert but the menu was tempting. Besides the fish service it would've been nice to have a bit more proactive attention from our server. When we requested our check, she pointed out that out that tipping was not included and waited until we completed the transaction. Would return for the food next time in Porto.

Definitely recommend making a reservation, I found it impressive that the hostess's reservation system was essentially a notebook and pen in this digital age. We did not see much of our waiter, since the restaurant was extremely busy and filled up with diners. Standouts: 1. Razor clams - I'll always get these if I see it on the menu. Cooked in this incredible garlic sauce. 2. Fish and seafood cataplana - delicious, tomato-forward seafood stew; I liked the version that we had the night before more which came with rice and was more filling. But this was basically a never-ending bowl of fish, clams, mussels, and shrimp. Add to that the fact that the restaurant like most in Porto did not have A/C and I emerged feeling like I had been sitting in a sauna. Skipped dessert; I had my eye on the Weeel! froyo truck parked outside. One more nit - the metal chairs are not comfortable at all for sitting a long time in.

As I came in on my own I opted for the one open stool at the counter. The restaurant was busy on a Monday early evening, about 5:30-6:00 pm-ish, with what felt like mostly locals. They have a regular menu, a daily menu printed on the counter top, and they also do Take-Away. Their specialty is definitely their roasted chicken, which one can see cooking on spits at the entrance of the restatruant, conjuring such amazing smells that truly open up the appetite. The staff is sweet and did their best to serve me, with my English/Spanish and no Portugese self. Everything I ate was top-tier without being fancy. Simple and flavorful. I ordered a 1/2 chicken (way too much for me by myself) that came with batatas (french fries- which I didnt love), so I ordered a side of white rice and a salad, as well as what I would call a carafe of wine (it was definitely either two very healthy pours or 3 regular ones). All in all, I paid $15 euros, which I thought was a great value for all that I was given and how tasty everything was.
