All of our dishes were super fresh and seasoned, albeit a tad too salty. I really enjoyed the grilled octopus. It's the best cooked octopus I've tried in Portugal, super tender and a nice char. A little on the expensive side, but great flavor. I wish it had more bell peppers on the side to add some sweetness. We also ordered tuna tartar, burrata with sun-dried tomatoes, and slow cooked veal. The tuna tartar was fresh but could have used some jam or freshness from some citrus. The burrata had a great creamy gazpacho sauce with fresh sun-dried tomatoes. And the veal had a nice tender wine flavor. The dessert was amazing, a trompe l'oiel lemon with lemon sorbet and a sweet cookie crumble. The lemon had a light chocolate crust and was filled with cream and lemon curd. Overall, a lovely place with nice staff and good, solid food, though I found it a tad expensive for what I was getting. And there were a series of small, minor issues that detracted from the experience. Bread course came warm, with a caramelized onion butter and some spicy bell pepper mayo that was ridiculously divine. This was my favorite course. Got the Cyber Punk tuna sashimi. Presentation was amazing. The tuna itself paired with the ponzu sauce was quite good. There were other elements like trout roe and crispy chicken skin, but the portions were sparse and I felt like the sauce drowned out their contribution a bit. Still a great dish though. Would order again. My main dish was the Vitela (braised veal). While the menu ostensibly presents these items for two to share, they can make half-portions of certain items, of which the Vitela was one. The meat was wonderfully tender. Flavor was had a slight tinge of bitterness and saltiness that didn't quite agree with me. Good dish overall. Service was kind and engaging. Possibly a bit too fussy over me for my American sensibilities, but they were very nice. The server knowledgeable about wine pairings and helped me pick out some for the courses I ordered. A couple of very minor issues here and there, like spilling some wine when pouring the glass, stuff like that. Also, the server shook my hand coming and going. Nice gesture but all I could think of was germs. Bathroom: Single-occupancy, upscale and nice. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up though. All in all, at decent restaurant but like I said, I had a bunch of small complaints that just added up, and it says a lot that my favorite course was the bread course. Our Airbnb host recommend this spot -- and it was very very cool! We asked the waiter to surprise us -- and he did bringing course after course of delicious fare. My favorite was the beef tartare and my husband's was the ceviche or maybe the veal or possibly the soup. And the tangerine ice cream with cheese and cardamom foam -- so incredibly scrumptious! We came here to celebrate my son's birthday and we are so glad we did! Quick pro tip - contact the restaurant and make a rezzie ahead of time. We emailed and then spoke on the phone the same day. They had a 6pm slot open but we needed to be done by 7:45pm for the next reservation. This worked out perfectly for us. We tried 2 of the cocktails and they were simply delicious (Fat Hooker and Tex Durex). Craft cocktails with unique ingredients and flavors that would rival any fancy cocktail lounge back in the states. For apps, we had the tuna sashimi - so fresh and delicious. The fish ceviche was good but not our fave. We loved the whole, grilled octopus. The beef tartare was yummy. The sides are surprisingly good! We loved the puréed cauliflower! The ribeye was cooked to perfection but was a bit too fatty on one side. My hubby who is not a fan of citrusy/sour desserts thought the lemon dessert was very, very good! We Loved it! But if you're unable to, come by the time the restaurant opens (7pm). Spots fill out quickly, as there are limited tables. Tasco is known for their experimental and delicious cocktails, and we enjoyed ours with the complimentary dishes (bread with carrot hummus and garlic butter, and octopus croquettes). Really enjoyed our meal. One of the best during our stay in Porto. The service was exceptionally chummy and personal. I came in with a special drink order, which the waiter dictated it to the bartender, and then on his own, had the bartender remake it before bringing it to me (along with a small one for himself). Excellent service and a beautifully decorated restaurant! Found out about this restaurant and decided to visit while on vacation. Arrived early (when it opened) for dinner with a party of 4. The waiter was great and took the time to explain the menu to us, learn our names, and make sure to check for vegan alternatives for myself so I could also enjoy the staters. They only have one vegan option, Guiseppe Acrimboldo, but if you let the waiter know ahead of time, he or she will find a way to accommodate you (as he did for me). I thought the Guiseppe Acrimboldo was very interesting, good taste, but interesting. I didn't think it was filling for a vegan but I liked it. Would I order it again? Probably not, but that's just because it wasn't enough and would've preferred the sweet potato puree to be thicker instead of smoother like baby food. The rest of my party enjoyed the Ribeye, Cogumelos Magicos, and the Machu Picchu which they thought were fantastic! The specialty drinks and the port was a great highlight on the relatively small yet very special menu. The fresh and tasty ceviche starter kicked off the night. The sweet potato and cabbage vegan main was excellent and the grilled sea bass with sesame butter beurre blanc sauce, crispy skin and a touch of salmon roe made it an instant highlight after over a week of eating our way through Portugal. We showed up a couple minutes after 7pm to see if we could get in without a reservation but unfortunately they were booked solid. As we stood on the sidewalk outside trying to figure out where to go next, the host came out, said they had a cancellation, and seated us. We spent the next two hours enjoying a fantastic meal! You need to go here if in Porto. Traveling in Portugal, we wanted a spot with smaller versions of Portugese staples so we could eat all the things! This was a recommendation by our hotel, and we were so pleased! We needed a reservation, even for a Tuesday night (9pm). Decor on first floor is cozy and inviting, decor on second floor seems to be trying hard to feel like an outdoor area with picnic tables, fake greenery on ceiling, etc. Servers were SO friendly. I learned where my server went to college and her first job, and got to know some fun facts about our other servers life history, all in a good way, in good conversation. Food was delicious! Rump steak with Portugese sauce was delicious-- pairs perfect with the roasted potatoes side. The sliced pork sounded a tad bland, but was nothing but!! Tender, juicy and flavorful! We also loved the codfish fritters, they were crispy and seafoody in just the right way. Sangria was an excellent choice for a drink, well priced too! This place is spectacular! Great food and drinks, but what makes it special are the people. The service and ambiance are unique.

Overall - it was a great experience & I'd definitely recommend this as a good place for a date night or a small dinner with friends. They had an english menu available and the waiter spoke english was well which made it easy for us to dine here. They started us off with complimentary bread (served warm) with butter and croquettes. We came quite hungry so this was a welcome start to the meal. I ordered the Cold Contagious cocktail (€8), which was a hit - it was the right amount of sweet and tart at the same time. We also got: (4/5) Tuna Tataki - €17 - the tuna was lightly seared and served with a sweet teriyaki-mirin-soy sauce that paired well with it. The tuna texture itself was on the firmer side and quite hearty. (5/5) Cod (Bacalhau) - €23 - I loved this dish - the cod was flaky and tender but also had a bit of a bite to it. This was served in a spinach sauce that paired really well. (5/5) Grilled fresh octopus - €36 - Super tender & flavorful. I think this was the best octopus we had on this trip so far - highly recommend if you're a fan of octopus. This was a full octopus, so it was quite filling and we had to take some of this to go. (4/5) Oven baked veggies - €6 - We got this to be healthy & balance out the veggies on our trip - this was solid & hit the spot. (5/5) Hazelnut & chocolate cheesecake - €6 - Wow! This was a really pleasant surprise. The style of cheesecake was more of a fluffy mousse rather than a cake slice which meant that it was easier to eat more of. This was topped with chopped hazelnuts and also had hazelnuts throughout, which brought a nice crunch. This was paired with slices of dark chocolate and some dark chocolate sorbet/ice cream, which had a deep chocolate flavor and went really nicely with the cheesecake. Our total came out to ~90ish, which I thought was fair for the food quality, service, and ambiance of the meal. We ordered 4 dishes - steak, octopus pantanisca, codfish pantanisca, and tomato rice. The steak was so flavorful and good, one of the better steaks I had. I was pleasantly surprised with tomato rice. Initially I thought it was going to be too soft/soupy but that wasn't the case and felt like eating actual rice with good tomato flavor.
