We happened upon Ben in the Fearless photography site, and he is super friendly, energetic, reasonably priced, and has a whole team, so we didn't have to worry about 'what-ifs'. Ben is the only photographer who offered a complimentary engagement session. Day-of, Ben and his second shooter Anthony worked incredibly well with our videographer (James Liu, whom he works with often and is exceptional) and never felt invasive. Our stunning photos (even better than we could imagine!) were revealed over a live 2 hour session - that felt a little unnecessary (I would have preferred the comfort of selecting my complimentary album on my own time with the pressure of deciding live or upgrades), but the printed album will be kept for a lifetime. My only other flag was that Ben didn't post sneak peeks of our wedding on social media, so while he mailed us a dozen polaroids, we had to wait until 2 months to see digital photos. However we took multiple shots and after processing, people looked ridiculous. I understand that I'm not photogenic but they literally photoshopped my face differently in each picture. Not exaggerating I look like a new species of alien in 10-15 pictures of the entire set. The rest of my family looks fine so I doubt they care much but these photos were entirely unusable. I would rather look ugly but human instead of like I'm in a rotating sideshow mirror from a traveling circus. I don't understand how someone looked at my face and decided "anything but the original is better" every time they looked at a new photo but didn't keep the photoshop (which took months) consistent. I have since used my own warped face as memes and my own sticker set. It's comical. They insisted they would do a good job of inserting the people who were absent into the photos. Everyone has different shapes and sizes. Hire someone with actual experience. I feel like they should give us a refund with interest. Then again, the pictures are hilarious so maybe I'm paying for entertainment and not actual photos.
