I stopped to buy milk for my baby. When I walked in I noticed the Store was under remodeling and the food and chips were just covered with a clear plastic but I didn't pay much attention to it. I bought milk for my baby, I put it into his bottle and immediately he rejected it. Omg that milk wasn't good !!!! I called to let them know and the lady that answered the phone started laughing and said ok I will check. I'm sure she didn't.... They probably had the milk out of the fridge for a while. What a shit show... I normally would let something like this go but it really bugged me. I drove up and needed a oil change and smog. I spoke to a gentleman in glasses and told him this information. I asked for the usual oil change that included the car wash. He said okay and showed me inside. I need to mention i have a turn to start car and always leave my key near the speedometer. After sitting down and grabbing a drink I was asked about my key, i explained it was in the dash and they just needed to turn to start. He then questioned, Are you sure? YES, I AM. Ugh, whatever it's cool. I then was brought over by another gentleman with glasses to talk about all the things I need and such, they found a leak which was helpful and he said he would be done shortly, so i asked him about the smog. He said and i quote, "Oh, I wish you would have told me that first." You got to be kidding. I did tell the guy. Alright its cool. I told him its gonna get done right... Well, the manager, i assume, cashed my out around $40 for the oil change and i asked if it included the smog to which he replied, "You need a smog?". You can understand my frustration and the fact I told him to forget it and give me my key. Also I don't believe they filled the air in my tires, they are all still low. Get it together people. Just another quickie lube that doesn't care about customer service. **Update** I had my mechanic check out my car and there was no oil leak and/or transmission leak, so that means either 1. worst oil change experience I have ever had ! In vegas realized I need an oil change so picked here randomly. Boy was that a huge mistake! Firstly there was two cars in front of me I thought I could park and waiting room but for some reason they made me seat in the car the whole time. During the wait for oil change I wanted to get out of the car for a cigarette but was told to stay in the car for "safety reason" just really weird. Secondly the price was never clear till the last minute! Paid 130 just for the oil change nothing else! Thirdly the stuff has no knowledge to any car! Their car wash at Silverado and Decatur is the worst. It has never been great but at least it got the dirt off. Now your car looks worse after the wash. Since I still had time left before I needed to pick up my "fare," I stopped in here for gas. The only problem I had wasn't their fault. I called ahead to see the wait time for a smog check. I was told nobody was there but could change at anytime since it's first come first serve. I come by and still nobody. Yay for being first. I'm told pass or fail it's $23.95 for smog. I say ok. The guy asked if I needed help getting out of the car since I'm 9 months pregnant. I say I'm fine and head to the lobby. It only took them about 5 minutes. I've been getting my smog here since 2010. Usually it takes 15-20 minutes. I like this location since it's easy to get out of the plaza when they're done. Also my contact info is in their system so checking out is quick. I wouldn't come here if they're busy though. There's only 4 seats in their lobby area. So always call ahead. read more

This is one of the decent and convenient spots for me to gas up the car before returning back to Los Angeles, CA where gas is sold at about 50 cents more per gallon and even more when they switch over to the summer blend. I've never stopped inside the store to purchase anything, so my interaction has always been only with the gas pump. I'm surprise to read the other reviews on this location. I was in desperate need of an oil change. I put it off way too long. I pulled in on Sunday morning at 8:55am and they were ready and willing to take me right away. They open at 9am. I was quoted a price right away. $49. I don't mind because they check air filters, tires, transmission and such. I needed to clean my oil but I waited too long to get it changed and for $13 dollars it's worth it. I definitely needed at air filter was well. My old one was black! Also they knew my left driver's side blinker was out and offered to change it for me. Luckily I had the bulb in my car and they switched it out for me for $5 bucks. I've never had better service and was out of there in 20 minutes! read more

The name of this place pretty much sums up what the experience was like... I was driving home with some friends after a very good weekend in Vegas. We stopped for gas and I wanted to get something to drink for the 5 hour drive. I enter this mini mart (labeled "Terrible's Video Poker" lol) and the line is at least 20 people long. Okay, that's sort of understandable because everyone is driving home from Vegas. What wasn't understandable was how long it took the line to move and how many people were on duty while this long line was building up. There were FIVE people standing behind the counter. One was ringing up guests, one looked like she was training another, and two were just messing around. That's complete BS. 1) If it's busy, you can stop training someone and ring up a few customers. 2) If you aren't doing anything when you obviously should be doing something, then you are USELESS and you should be FIRED. Been going to this spot for years now for little things like gas and road snacks and things. Once a year, since it's close and convenient I go here to do my smog check on the way to the dmv to renew registration. Usually the service is quick and efficient.... .....ahhh but on this day.... it was one FAIL after the other. First off, I pull up the truck to the right-most port where the smog machine is set-up. A guy in uniform walks RIGHT by me and proceeds to chat up the cute girl in the minivan behind me. Sorry for him, because she's my wife...and we're here to smog two cars. I noticed the name on the shirt was Shaun and made mental note to myself to consider a chat with the manager. Knowing the drill, I get out of the car and wait for a technician. No one comes. We go inside the small waiting room (keys in hand) and go right up to the counter where Shaun is dutifully doing something on the computer. Not one word of acknowledgement. not one hint of interest in the customer. focus shaun! focus! i look over at their feeble attempted install of a privacy filter and find out that our friend shaun is watching the countdown on a bid he has on ebay. still standing right there in front of him, he backs away and walks out. still without a word. I start looking around to see if there are any numbers on the wall for customer service and much to my dismay i see the plaque on the wall that says: Shaun Cavanaugh, Manager. tisk tisk. this is gonna be called up to corporate. Another customer walks in and sits down to wait for his vehicle getting an oil change. I notice it's a Honda Element...and THEN I notice them filling it up with Valvoline 5W-20. Seriously? It's nearly 120 degrees outside and these guys are willfully filling up customer cars with 5W-20? For anyone who doesn't know oil, take heed and just know that in this kind of weather, 30 should be minimum!!! anyway, the only saving grace to this place was the smog technician who rung us out. he came in with a smile and was courteous and efficient. but for some reason, I can't remember his name. 1 STAR Terrible Herbst! This is my go-to spot for my regular "lube job" And we ALL need a good lube now and then, right? I pull up, they get it done. I usually have a coupon which makes it about 10 bucks less, AND sometimes I get a free Krispy Kreme donut to go with my coffee while I wait. My favorite part is after the lube, I can wash my baby, every nook and cranny, inside and outside included in the price! Joking aside... The staff are always friendly, and aren't trying to push or sell me on anything additional that I most probably don't need. Although they always let me know what I am due for. And whenever I head out of town or am unsure of my tire pressure I stop by and they check it for me. I also love when they have deals around Christmas inside the attached gas station to buy a $25.00 GC and get another $10.00 GC free, which means I get a steal of a deal! read more

What were we thinking stopping at a place with Terrible in its name? I think we were suckered into exiting off of the 15 freeway due to a sign that indicates this is a Chevron Gas Station. We pulled in and attempted to Gas up at the pumps. Our credit card said 'declined' and to complete the transaction with the cashier. We walked inside and explained to the cashier the pump did not accept our credit card. The cashier attempted to complete our transaction which was met with negative results. As we were waiting for the cashier to figure out what was going on we received a call from the fraud Dept. of our Bank who wanted to verify that we were out of State and were in fact the ones attempting to use the credit card at this Gas Station. We had hoped this would resolve the issue and allow us now to use our credit card, wrong answer. So we decided to pay with cash ' We told the cashier $40.00 on Pump 13,' the cashier did not understand, we told the cashier again and again and again, no joke. We had people behind us in line rolling their eyes probably saying to themselves 'These darn Californians.' It was obvious that this was an ESL (English second Language) type of deal. I mean who am I to complain the cashiers English was better than my attempt at whatever the cashiers 1st language was. It was just a hassle, you have been on the road for several hours and all you want to do is be there and you are being held up at the last moment because of a computer glitch and/or the cashier losing '$40.00 on pump 13' somewhere in translation. I will say the gas prices based on what was available in the middle of the desert were about $1.00 cheaper here, we are talking California to Nevada prices. With that being said I can also say that there are plenty of other Gas Stations in the area with just about the same prices and there in the land of 'Odds' there is zero chance I ever come back here. read more

Went to get an oil change for my SUV 9/25/16. Have gone there regularly since 2014 for oil changes. I was informed the oil change for a basic oil change would be approximately $50. I did grudgingly get it done. The associate stated Terrible's raised their prices back in March 2016 for this service. I told him nicely that this would be the last oil change I got there. He said I wouldn't be the first regular customer to say that. I did get a voucher for a "free" car wash. I told the associate for $50 the company should come pick my car up at my house. --I understand the concept of inflation but really? I've been here before for an oil change for my truck. The reason I came back was because the price is pretty good for full synthetic. This time I came, they're under new ownership... it's Valvoline Lube. The price is still competitive, it's a new way of doing it though, they have you sit in your vehicle while the work is being done, kinda weird but new. Anyway, included in the service is topping off your basic fluids...they told me they topped it all off and it even said it on my receipt. Well, the next day after it rained, I used my wipers and shot some wiper fluid on there, after a couple times of that, I ran out of fluid. When I got home I filled it myself, as I was doing that, I happened to notice the coolant level was below the minimum line, so I had to top that off too! It's not a big deal, but if you're gonna get paid to do a job, do it right. Not sure if I'll come back, we'll see read more

I've been taking my vehicles here since 2013. I've never had an issue until today. I understand that sometimes oil does get spilled around the filler. When I got home I opened up the hood and couldn't believe how much oil there was. Plus the tech didn't even attempt to clean it up. Now here is the best part! They explained to me that I needed to replace my cabin filter and my air filter. Which was awesome and totally agreed. So I went to a parts store and picked those up. As I opened up the glove box to get to my cabin filter I noticed the tech never put the cover back on it nor did he put the old one back in the correct way. So, thanks for turning my engine compartment into an oily mess! I will not be returning to this location again! read more

I had my oil changed at Terrible Herbst on Blue Diamond and within 25 miles my engine made a horrible sound, over heated and died. We found out that the coolant cap was placed on broken and there was no coolant in my car which resulted in destroying my engine...they admitted their technician "topped" off my coolant but hired an "expert" who has determined it was broke prior and you guessed it, they are not taking responsibility!!! It's over $5000 for a new engine that I have never had an issue with prior to going into their shop..DON'T ever use these guys, they are hacks and then can't take responsibility for their mistakes!!! I went to this location on Saturday for an oil change. They failed to let me know that I had a frayed belt. The belt broke on my way home which less than a mile from that location. I didn't realize the damage that the broken belt had done to my steering pump. My car is leaking steering fluid and I let them know what happened. All they had to say was "sorry your having a bad day.". Do not go to this location for any work on your car. read more

Don't take your car here for an oil change!!! they raised synthetic oil change price from $60 to $80 and I asked them to check my tire pressure lights and it's been couple of days it's still blinking so, when I went back to complain about it because that $20 extra every time will add up and I've never paid that much for what it supposed to be a "simple" oil change...I knew I wasn't getting a refund so all I asked was an apology since they didn't explain to me properly and guy was smirking the whole time talking to me like it was a joke I didn't appreciate that at all...I went to different complete auto care place by my house today just to check because what happened here bothered me so much and they quoted me around $60.
