Approaching the mansion under the dark Florida sky makes the whole experience feel even more atmospheric. The ride lasts about 7 1/2 minutes and takes you through a wonderfully eerie tour hosted by the Ghost Host. The narration is fantastic, the soundtrack--including "Grim Grinning Ghosts"--is unforgettable, and the beautiful sets are packed with details. Highlights include the conservatory, Madame Leota's séance room, the ballroom, and the singing graveyard. Although the attraction can seem scary at first, it is really more "scary fun" than frightening. There is no gore, the ride moves slowly, and it is suitable for little kids who enjoy spooky stories. The Doom Buggies comfortably fit two adults, or two adults and one small child, making it a great family attraction. Of course, there is always the possibility that one of the Hitchhiking Ghosts may follow you home. After one ride, a ghost actually followed me all the way back and kept asking for five dollars because his car had run out of gas and he needed to get back home to Texas. I gave him the money, naturally. One must maintain good relations with the dead. A timeless Disney classic, beautifully designed, wonderfully narrated, and endlessly re-ridable. Parking is free and and so is the short tram or bus ride to the event. The experience begins on the ride as you're greeted by the bus driver; (Ours was named Splatter and his energy set the mood for the night) and his assistants who may give you a fright as they give you the lore/theme of the houses and their names. The premise of this event changes every year, and after our experience we are excited to see what they cook up next year. In the front yard of the event there are many food trucks to choose from, some with themed menu options, a few shops with an array of goods, and a DJ playing some Halloween classics. This area is a relatively small but we never felt crowded, and we're able to find seats at tables to eat, despite it being Halloween Night where we expected a peak number of visitors. The smaller area also guarantees that you'll have many encounters throughout the night with the scare actors who roam this open space. Screams from guests filled the air sporadically all throughout the night. The houses were extremely impressive. There were 3 free houses included in your ticket and 2 experiences where you pay for an extra ticket. These tickets also work as fast passes to the houses. We found that the lines went by quickly. The houses are not so much houses as they are trails through the wooded area in the event lot which added a lot more to the fear factor than your typical indoor haunted houses. Every scene was filled with props and scares. It was obvious how much effort was put into the designs of the sets. This year's premise to put it simply was an abandoned mall and the houses reflected that. What really made this night for us were the employees. This experience was very interactive and the scare actors all had great attitudes. They were in character but when we had questions about the event they answered us seriously and it showed. We got the impression that they enjoyed their work, and that helped keep spirits high all night

We went through 4 of the 5 houses, rode a few coasters and went to a few shows. They don't have accurate or posted times for the houses which was not very helpful. They did have a food and drinks pass which we saw too late! Otherwise we would have gotten than. The scare actors through the houses and scare zones did a great job! I'll be keeping these things in mind for next year to make it more enjoyable for myself and the rest of my party.

I love Howl-O-Scream.. dare I say it can sometimes be better than Universal's Horror Nights? The…read morelines are shorter for the houses and there are actually more scare zones. Yes the production has less of the big name movies of course but it's still amazing. Also, more affordable. The absolute BEST part though? THE SHOW!! Yes, singular.. honestly if you came here and didn't do any of the houses and only did one show, Monster Stomp is it! I've watched it for the past probably three years at least and I never get sick of it (we see it more than once a season lol) SO GOOD!!

We got there and there was plenty of parking and a really cool looking 'house'. They checked us in quickly - and we had ordered the quick entry. I liked that they only let in a small group of people in at a time - 4-5 people max. They also spread out the groups so you'll never be in a long line or having people immediately behind you. Nobody is safe from their scares! The actors have their frights perfectly calculated, so whether you're in the front, middle, or back, you'll get some scares. The immersive swamp was just amazing. We are planning on going back every year now. Loved it (and loved that it was haunted Christmas theme in December!)
