This haunt has been pretty consistent over the past few years but maybe slipped a bit in 2011…read more Still worth a visit, especially if you plan to hit up Terror on Rural Street as they are just a few miles apart. Good: *Its actually a house, not just a repurposed building, so that does add some creepy factor, but be prepared for some fairly steep stairs *Actors here tend to be more theatrical and interactive, especially in the first half. Some are very funny. *Reasonable wait and good waiting system (ticket numbers). Nice waiting area with horror movies to get you in the mood. * Very detailed sets and costumes fir the most part. Bad: *In the past, one of the bet parts of this haunt was the creepy trail up to the house. This year, few if any actors or scares in that part. LAME. *Inside it was really hot and stuffy, perhaps because it was a fairly warm night. Still FYI to the ghosts - deodorant is for the undead too *Seemed to peter out about halfway through with fewer actors and more random screaming teens. Depends on Your Perspective: *No visible security. In theory, if you had brought a cooler of beer it would have been no problem to sit in your friends minivan and have a few whilst waiting for your number. Not that we did that.

The haunted woods is not very haunted and they could do away with the theatrical performances inside that just hold things up trying to make it seem like you are in the "haunt" longer than you are. I do admit, I give the actors credit for rehearsing and memorizing their skits but it get's awkward when you have to stand in a room because the group in front of you is held up and you stand there for a good couple of minutes doing nothing in a room. Reading my review from last year, not much has changed in the sense of anti climatic ending and all they do is scream in your ear as you go down the dark halls. Not sure I will go back next year. There are too many other better ones out there.

Went here last night and it was pretty busy!! The wait time for the 8-9 spot was long. They have…read morerules about arriving at your designated time no more than 10 minutes early, 10 minutes late but it honestly doesn't matter, because all general admission had to stand in the same line. Fast pass was $10 more...ultimately that extra 10 was worth saving me the amount of time I would have wasted standing there to wait to get in. Each house takes about 5 minutes to get through and there are only 3. You're waiting longer to get IN each house, than you are to actually go through them. So that's a tad unsatisfying. We had been waiting...about 20-30 minutes to get into the houses before we decided to get the fast pass. Literally no one was paying for fast pass so we were able to just go right in. Getting the fast pass guarantees you go first. Which causes the wait time for general admission to be longer, because they stagger YOUR group. Literally no one is wearing masks nor are they social distancing, so go at your own risk. But! They also don't make you go in with strangers! You might run into people depending on how long it takes you and them to walk through. I tended to take longer because I'd stop walking if I got scared. Unlike THHE (the Hills Have Eyes), this place offered a few carnival-like games and seemed to have food. I mean literally no one was playing the games, eating or drinking though. I'm on the fence about how to rate this place. I'll say this, this one was just as expensive as the THHE and had less to offer, so that's a no-thank-you. But it was only just as expensive because we ultimately found it worth it to pay more to save time with the fast pass. Time is precious! We would have been waiting over an hour just to get through 3 houses that only take 5 minutes to walk through. I will say this though!!!; WF was scarier than THHE, just IMO. But like, kudos to WF because the last haunted/scary house of WF had almost no one working in it. It was PITCH black, with a light flickering on so often. And it was maze like. So I was already scared going in because I had no idea what to expect in the dark. I actually enjoyed that aspect, although my friend thought it was lame that no one was even there to jump out and scare you. Finding this place was easy and parking was straightforward. I don't think the experience was worth the price, however I can't be that mad because I had fun and that was the goal.

Three different haunts that you get to go through each one more fun and at times scarier than the next. They have added fun stuff that you can buy and concessions in the last year or so and I think that is a great added feature to browse while you wait. From people in the lines scaring you all the way through to the end very entertaining and a scary good time.

They would scare or try to scare the people in front of us and then we would already know what was coming. It was very predictable. Definitely not worth more than $10. The actors were very fruity way too many props and costumes that were not even close to scary. I kept a straight face and didn't jump once. Any downers I've seen in previous reviews are likely going into this with an attitude of a fortress wall, which isn't fair to this place. Sure your group influences your time, but you can easily go to the back and space out a little! This is not the haunts fault, they do a good job of scaring the front and back of the group. You've got to go to a haunted house ready to be spooked and to have fun, if you do that here, you will have an amazing time! Just saying, this place deserves way more credit & I'm disappointed at the inaccuracies of the reviews. Also this is a local small business, so huge kudos to their efforts. I've been to haunted houses all over the country and for the last 20+ years almost yearly, so take my word for it.. this place is putting in the work to make it cool for people. The scenery is insanely cool & there's so much attention to detail. The diversity and the length of the experience sold it for us. The bang for your buck is there; we were there longer than any other we've done, probably 1.5 hours with the extra haunt experience and hanging by the bonfire with drinks. So many textures, lighting, effects, animatronics, different themes, probs, actors, and even smells while you're being led through many many fields, houses, buses, warehouses etc! The actors were also scary yet didn't make me uncomfortable like others have before, they knew the line and didn't cross it. I loved how dedicated they were, some in cages or on the floor, some laying on the beams of the building, some blending in with the room or other props. We went on Halloween night & everyone we saw there had tons of fun too. Way to go, and thank you Screamin Acres! We'll see you next year.

I parked on the street, but they did have a dedicated lot which I wandered through as I finished my contraband (in Wisconsin). During this time I got a good chance to snap a couple pictures and watch the full production on the wall. Of course, as I walked out of the parking lot some DOT patrons screamed and said, "Holy sh*t I thought you were one of the actors!" A common occurrence around this non-traditionally dressed, 6'9" 450 lbs visage. Amusingly, I was talking with one of the volunteers who worked on it, and when she found out who I was (reviewer, actor, producer, non-profit advisor, etc) she asked me what I thought about the production values of the video. I said, "It must have been A LOT of work because that is HUGE and pretty high definition." I'm not 100%, but it seems like that was a new addition for this year and I can only imagine, based on the rest of the production, that we only saw a glimpse of what this crew is capable of this year. I entered the attraction grounds, and this is where my ONLY complaint of the night arises. The signage was not the clearest on where I should go based on having purchased my ticket online, and I went to the main entrance to the attraction where I was quite rudely sent back to where I was supposed to go. Now, I only point out the quite rudely because it was clearly NOT in character. I sniped back quickly, "Whoa, someone needs to chill out or find a character..." and just went on my way before she could respond. I found the pre-purchased ticket window and had a great conversation with the cat at the desk. I then worked my way back to the main entrance of the haunted warehouse. I paid for the Fastpass, and I would say it was still worth it even on the second to last night of production. When you first enter the warehouse the queue line continues through what appears to be a large section of the first floor. I proceeded to the Fastpass gate, and was greeted by a couple of uncostumed Jaycee volunteers (I have a feeling these gentlemen may also be bikers). We have a good chat about the house, the organization, and the mission; which this year included an anti-bullying program aptly called "Don't Be A Monster." After a short wait, as I arrived during break time, I was let into the warehouse as my own group. Now I don't mind this, but when I'm solo in a haunted house I'm not there to be scared. I mean, if you can pull it off, awesome, but other than a small jump scare from behind it's never happened. Dominion of Terror is a warehouse that utilizes all 3 floors for a journey that takes you through MANY different atmospheres from typical indoor home scenes, to camping scenes, other random outdoor locales, a graveyard, a pub, a coroners/medical examiners office, etc. The transitions work out very smoothly and there is a solid mix of characters both consistently in your face and those trying to be sneaky for the scare. I will admit there were a couple times I was surprised that someone in a chair was or wasn't a live actor. I'm not going to comment too much on the specifics of the content of the house, except to say that the people involved in this project CARE. Everyone in the house was there for the passion of it and it shows. They also did pretty good dealing with a 7' top hated dude laughing in their faces and occasionally trying to bump them out of character. Credit due to everyone who didn't slip, and still credit to the one guy who did. As I said the warehouse utilized all three floors and you transitioned seamlessly from scene to scene, but I can't say it was always straight forward. There is definitely a maze aspect to the house, and admittedly, it didn't get me until the end, but it definitely got me. The group behind me caught up as I sort of floated from closet door to closet door around in circles missing the hidden exit behind a mirror (hey, that contraband combined with some edibles made the house VERY fun). I kept with the last group basically for the last area where I was greeted at the exit by the gentleman who had let me into the Haunted Attraction as he wanted to know my opinion, and it was easily summed up as "Kick Ass, I WILL be back." I then took a gander at the merch table and spent some cash. As I write this I am looking at the checks that totaled $22k that went to 4 incredible non-profits in the region from the proceeds raised. I will be back, and I hope after you read this book you're interested in checking it out too. There may be more professional attractions, with proper financial backing, in the Midwest, but you're going to be hardpressed to find a project with this kind of quality combined with this kind of heart. Kudos to the Sheboygan Jaycees. Smokin' Santa rates this 5 Pipes - Ho-Ho-Holy Sh*t was that cool.
