I tried for a few months to get ahold of Dr. Schmidt in order to schedule a stress test and heart monitor. two calls to his office and an in person visit (lol, yes, I had to go in to the actual office to speak with his staff,) followed by another phone call, and never heard back. Now in the process of changing my PCP through insurance. Dr. Schmidt was not cutting it, not in the least.

Dr. Schmidt has changed. He used to be more carrying and understanding. He is still a knowledgeable doctor, but I think he is tired and from being tired he gets grumpy. I don't think he likes his job as much as he used to, and he takes it out on his patients at times. The other part I need to inform other patients, is the staff. There are no words to explain their unprofessionalism. They are flat out dumb. Anyone that works at a doctor's office, should be considerate of the patients, and well-mannered, and friendly. But these young kids -- I say, "kids" because that's how they act, need to grow up and have some respect for Dr. Schmidt's patients. Dr. Schmidt has no clue of their immaturity and incompetency. As soon as Dr. Schmidt walks up to the front office; they quickly stop laughing and talking and try to act professional. Their so fake. I sit there and say, "If Dr. Schmidt only knew." Because they sit there and make fun of patients and talk bad about us. They think we can't hear them sitting in the lobby. I would not come to this doctor's office, because you will have trouble getting anything done relating to your medical procedures, lab work, return calls, referrals, which they forget to submit. I never in my life been to a doctor's office where I've have had so much trouble with the staff in every way. I'm done and will no longer be seeing this doctor again. I sure miss the staff that was there before, they were so efficient and professional and friendly to the patients.

She was very familiar with all the doctors on staff at that hospital and said he was top of the line. Dr. Greenberg has never disappointed me. He and Deanna (his assistant) never rush through my appointment. I feel very well cared for each and every time whether it's an office visit or a very quick return call or email. So what made me finally review on Yelp? I found myself in NYC very sick. While I was laying in a bed at a very highly related hospital in Manhattan, I was on the phone with Dr. Greenberg. He is the only provider that helped me. He called in the meds I needed. They were the right meds and I finally started to get better ... no thanks whatsoever to this "highly rated" ER. When I finally got back home, the office got me in to see Dr. Greenberg within 2 days. He and Deanna both spent a very long time with me. By the time I left, I felt confident that I had been given the best possible care. Tests were ordered and before I even got home, the scheduler had called me to schedule my test and I was given an appointment for the test the very next day. As if all that isn't enough, the office staff are always so kind, and the office isn't overloaded with sick patients in the waiting room. So they reschedule me for 3pm the same day. Whatever. She then tells me that she might be late because that's how it always is. Ok then why schedule me for that time knowing she'll be late. Schedule for when she's available. Now, I don't even receive a call at 3PM, I receive a call at 5PM, two hours later when I'm already driving home from work. She then tells me that they will give me a call the next day. No call at all ? How is that I received her two hour late call but not these "several" calls of them trying to reach me. Aside from that, I understand that doctors have patients to see and speak to but I had an in person visit a while ago and it was nearing the end of my appt. My doctor then stops me as I begin to tell her that I have ONE more quick question. You would think that an actual good doctor who cares about their patients would listen just for a minute. Right, but what this lady does is say "SORRY!!! But I need to go!" and runs out the door, then proceeds to slam it shut. Doesn't even give me a chance. Doesn't say bye. Doesn't properly exit out a patient. How unprofessional. I will be switching Optum offices unfortunately. I was never one to shame people in healthcare but the way this lady does work is terrible. I have also sent a message to my doctor in the patient portal on May 29, 2026. I still haven't received a message back. It's been two months. They don't even bother or try to care. The office had the pre-authorization form for 3 weeks and I had to call my insurance and the office multiple times to even get that part resolved. My insurance company also reached out multiple times with no response. Now there's another issue and I'm being told to wait until my next appointment. No, I will not wait another month. I'm glad the medication isn't needed to survive or I'd be in trouble. Optum corporate will be hearing from me. Their blasé attitude about dropping the ball with myself and other patients I know is beyond unprofessional and also careless.
