We didn't know about Tesiny until tonight! They seem to be very popular as there was a wait for the bar seating. We had a drink elsewhere while our name was on the waitlist. We came back after 45 mins and waited another 15 mins for our seat at the bar. The shaken cocktails were inventive and strong, bartenders were super friendly and approachable and their coffee mousse cake was delicious! Can't wait to come back for their chef's table which looked like a lot of fun!

Service was great. Attentive and friendly. The food was amazing. The oysters were great with a house made hot sauce I think? Great touch. Timing of the dishes was perfect, the space was beautiful, and every bite was delicious.

Came by Tesiny for an early dinner on a Thursday night. The ambiance inside was very nice and I loved the decor. Oysters were decent -- didn't feel like they were the freshest, but they did the job. Got the Octopus entree and the broccolini side. Wish the broccolini had some sort of pepper flake or some spice factor to it, as it was a little bland. The octopus was good, but could've been a little more tender/snappy. Sparkling wine felt a little flat. Overall it was a decent meal and I'm glad I stopped by.

This might be my favorite bar in Philly yet! It's so quaint, sophisticated but not pretentious…read more Casual attire (we showed up after a tennis match and didn't get one side eye!Other patrons also wore cute/ smart casual fits!) The bartenders were so nice, speedy, and knowledgeable! They patiently explained to us the differences among some drinks and provided great recs based on our preferences! The customers/ patrons that are drawn to Grace and Proper are what make this place shine! We had a full dating intervention with strangers (we asked them for advice!) and it was so fun! This is the kind of place that makes you believe in humanity and whimsical connections again! The lighting indoors can be VERY dim as we were there around sunset. I think a few dim bulbs in the corner would still carry the vibe but make it less dark. We all had different kinds of cocktails and love the presentation and creative recipes! Will revisit more often!

Our favorite spot in Philly!…read more My husband claims that Claude AI recommended this place. We absolutely loved it! The entrance is so charming. With potted flowers all over the restaurant. Smattering of patio tables on both Eighth Street and Carpenter. When I saw it, I said yes before even looking at the menu. We ordered drinks at the bar and took them outside. It's very chic but also casual. There were mostly pairs or trios - no families. Not th. We saw people ordering a little bit of everything. Honestly, the menu looked great! The kale Caesar salad, the piri piri buffalo chicken dip, bacon wrapped plums, etc. The drinks were the best we had on our Philly trip! The Spanish Monk which had gin, lemon juice, frothed egg white and smoked paprika. I had the GGG which they carried over from their old menu. Can't remember what was in it but she said it was similar to Bee's Knees which is one of my favorite! There's self service still water and sparkling water in the back of the restaurant. Perfectly chilled. Perfectly bubbled! Such a lovely spot!

Ahhh, how the city of Philadelphia's food scene continues to be extremely disappointing for me…read more There has not been one restaurant that I've tried where the food and/or combination with the experience has been a good once. I made a review recently on how I very much disliked Fitz on 4th and my anxiety was ramping up seeing this restaurant was barely two blocks away The food had no flavor and was extremely bland. I have never been in a restaurant and asked for the salt and pepper shakers (unless it's for eggs lol) and unfortunately that didn't help much at all here. The branzino dish was plated nicely, but had zero flavor. The orzo and corn was giving just got this box of orzo from Trader Joe's and threw some canned corn in the mix. Branzino? Very plain. The Cacio e pepe was also....flavorless. I love cacio e pepe and I was between that and the branzino at first, but knew if the if the sauce wasn't balanced perfectly between cheese and pepper, it would ruin the dish. We opted to have chicken added and as you can tell, it doesn't look like there was any chicken at all. It was a let down from the first bite of both dishes, for both my partner and I. Chicken liver mousse is one of my absolute favorite things ever, since a kid. Generally, I'm given a small pot/portion of the mousse to spread on a cracker or piece of bread myself. Here, they do things a little differently. They spread it on some bread topped with cherry agrodolce and pistachios. I thought this dish was pretty neat. My fav thing was although the bread was baked and crunchy on the exterior the middle was very soft and I thought this was a perfect balance. But, the skimped out of the chicken mousse and barely put any on the bread, especially the first piece of bread in the pic. The wine was nice, but it was not poured it front of us and I have zero clue what it is. We asked for something most similar to Merlot. Wouldn't try this place again & didn't think it was worth the cost. Side note, there's a surcharge for paying with a card AND they are currently participating in restaurant week.

Their drink menu is standard, but they rocked my world when I saw Xul PBnJ mixtape. Oh man, I don't know if they always have it, but when I went they did, and boy is that going to keep me coming back. We ordered their: (1) bacon burger (rating 3.0/5) (2) beef sandwich (rating 3.0/5) (3) fries (rating 3.5/5) Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad. The best way I can explain it is, their food is satisfactorily adequate. It tastes good enough, it's juicy enough, it's filling enough. It's what I would call "fine". The thing is, their burgers are TINY (not too far from a slider even) and EXPENSIVE for how small they are, so being "fine" isn't what I want. If you're going to charge that much and give that little, the food needs to be mouth wateringly incredible. Otherwise give me a normal-sized "fine" burger. Service Notes: No complaints about the service. This place has bit of a "nicer bar" ambiance, but it's quite small. It felt a little too confined honestly. TLDR: Food is fine, but not worth the cost. There are better burgers at lower price points.

The cheeseboard was decent, despite the fact that I don't love blue cheese. The steak frites were tasty- slightly overcooked but the flavor was on point. We tried the Leeks all dolled up, the vegetable was healthy and very tasty. I had myself a fortified wine for the first time! This is really the reason I tried this place, as I have never had fortified wine before. What is it you ask? Basically, wine with brandy in it making the cocktail come in at approx 15-20% bac. Fortified wine is poured in much smaller glasses than a normal wine pour, but I am thankful I got to try it. I got the duck of the day, which was duck confit, and it was amazing. My friend got the steak frites and I was very impressed with the quality steak, was ordered medium but came out beautifully medium rare which my friend was happy about as he immediately regretted telling the server he wanted it medium. I didn't have room for dessert, but this unique restaurant has so many items that you cannot find everywhere, and it makes me want to come back ASAP. As always people SYOY!!!!

Considering we are visiting Philadelphia, the worst city in the world, I looked this one up and seemed to have good ratings. What a disgusting meal experience and food preparation. We ordered the parillada for two. The guy asked us how we wanted it cooked: we said medium. What did we get: a bloody hot mess. The worst part: after we told the waiter that the meat was under cooked, did they remake the order: of course not, oh no Che! He picked up the pieces of meat from the dish and took them back to cook them more. I hope the other guests enjoyed their meat being grilled after our twice cooked meat, which we had already cut into. Ay Pive! Their shrimp cocktail appetizer was also super weird tasting, and $20 for four shrimp!!!!! For those that are math challenged, that's $5 a shrimp. Not prawns, but just regular good old street shrimp from Walmart. Stay the F away from this place! No value for the money, the waiters are incompetent, and the cooks are incompetent . And that's nothing compared to the food safety problems we experienced. DISGUSTING! You have been warned.
