I've never really thought twice about calling it quits after exploring a wing or two at the Met or the Louvre. But, even at a substantially more modest venue like the John Wesley Powell River History Museum, I probably only really paid attention to about half of its contents before hitting my limit. The highlights I appreciated most were the informative video that explained the historical significance of The Major and his nearby explorations, the replicas of various river craft, and the totally unexpected mini-dinosaur exhibit on the lower level. The latter is tucked away in a room behind the stairs and is otherwise easy to miss if you don't bother actually walking down. We probably wouldn't have considered stopping by this museum if not for the recommendation from the staffer at the Torrey visitor center. If you're passing through, it's definitely worth an hour or two pitstop and the nominal $6 entry fee per adult.

However, it was Sunday and they were closed. So it became a must do on our return home, which we did today. Great film, great exhibits and great historical and current information the Green River as well as much of the Colorado plateau. It's very inexpensive ($6 was the senior rate). If you're driving 70 west through this area , stop in! Open 9-5, Monday through Saturday.

Cougar Ridge in Torrey is clearly in the process of transitioning into a high-end luxury resort…read more They are currently building a brand-new restaurant and bar, and the property is definitely designed for future growth. We stayed in a beautiful 2-queen bed room that was very comfortable and well-equipped with a good-sized refrigerator and microwave. The amenities here are fantastic--there is a large recreation area featuring a heated pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, and pickleball courts. Breakfast was also a highlight, offering a great selection of options including waffles, breakfast sandwiches, cake loaves, oatmeal, fresh fruits, and a wide variety of coffees and teas. Because we used a free Hilton night certificate, the price wasn't an issue for us, but room rates this May were running around $600 a night. For a property commanding that premium price point, there are still a few operational details that need to be ironed out to match the high-end experience they are aiming for: Front Desk & Service: The front desk is currently not staffed all day, which can be inconvenient for a luxury resort. Communication: Communication needs a bit of tuning, specifically updating their welcome email template and ensuring guest text messages are answered promptly. Signage: Physical signage from the main road needs improvement, which is especially important if you are arriving without a working GPS signal. Overall, it is a gorgeous property with excellent bones and great potential. Once these smaller service details and the new dining options are fully sorted, it will easily be a top-tier luxury destination!

No response and a message saying the voicemail box was full. Another guest driving by gave the number of the manager whose phone was out of service! This place is in a pretty remote area in Utah. After waiting for over an hour we left and checked into a hotel nearby which thankfully had a room for us. I will say the receptionist called TWO hours later and was apologetic but I have never been to a Hilton hotel which has no staff for check in!! Stay away please!

We could hear the people stomping above us and our room wasn't cleaned every day unfortunately. Service was pretty good front desk guy was very nice(1 out of 2). Who was a nice edition, even the hot tub and the cabanas. Really happy for the breakfast, especially before a long day of hiking we took advantage of that every morning (along with everyone else!).

Which is close to the arches and other parks. Slower and quieter neighborhood. We were given the first floor room right across the elevators. Less privacy when leaving and entering the room but was convenient to be able to enter and exit through the back door. Got a regular king room and it comes with a microwave, sink and mini fridge. The bed and pull out couch were so comfortable. Pillows were great. The shampoo attached to the shower wall did fall randomly when we first arrived but I reattached it and seemed to stay on. Continental breakfast includes a variety of juices, coffee, bagels, spread, a small yogurt bar, a variety of muffins and a staff member behind the grill offering you prepared scrambled eggs, chicken sausage and rosemary potatoes. Surprised no pancakes, waffles or cereal. Overall, yummy and gets the job done. The only thing that really bothered us was the TV connectivity. After a day of adventures and driving, we couldn't really relax with a show or movie. If we did, then it took about 10mins+ or we compromised and kept it on a show we finally got to work. Called the front desk a couple times for assistance and he explained to us that the hotel doesn't have a strong WIFI connectivity and that majority of guests are experiencing it as well. He did his best to help us out with an issue that's out of his control and we really appreciated it.
