As a matter of fact I'm confused about where we stand as a state or nation when it concerns E.V.'s! These electric car charging stations are popping up everywhere in South Carolina. If I understand correctly ( which I may not) the federal government has eliminated the tax credit for the purchase of electric vehicles yet opportunities to charge these cars are abundant. I see a major contradiction here. My preference at the present time is that I would buy the most affordable car electric or gasoline powered. Incidentally, this EV charging station will service four cars simultaneously.

Was happy to find this near the Sheetz so you can easily get road trip snacks. Had no issues with chargers and the sheet has an area with tables and chairs if you want to chill. Fairly simple access to highway No big issues getting in and out.

There are a few eating establishments within walking distance and this is a well lit safe area. This is a good spot for charging in between Atlanta and Charlotte if a charge is needed.

The stations each have two cables and are Level 2, J1772 6.6 kW hookups. What's amazing here is that the stations are FREE to park and to recharge, thanks to the generosity of the Tanger Outlets Blowing Rock. Of course, there isn't much else within walking distance so if you're parked here, odds are that you're going to be shopping at the mall. There is limited shade here as the stations are against a high wall and it faces south. The shopping plaza does have food, candy and free wifi. The charging stations are open 24 hours.
