I would definitely study here if I was in the area. Gabe was really friendly, and helped me choose a great latte. I bought the Single Origin Okumidori Matcha iced latte, and it was the perfect level of sweetness. I didn't even have to adjust the level by some percentage; the standard blend is fresh, with just enough sugar to accent rather than overpower the beautiful matcha flavor. The employees were nice and our drinks came out quickly. I got the Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk and Vanilla Bean Syrup based on other Yelpers' recommendations, and I really enjoyed it! The vanilla bean was a nice addition to the matcha, especially since it has a slightly more bitter, grassy flavor on its own. Overall, it was really balanced and something I'd order again. My partner got the Iced Vanilla Latte, which was also well balanced--not too strong or bitter and not overly sweet. A little simple for my taste, but still good! The menu felt a little limited and took me a minute to figure out when I first looked online, but I think this is one of those spots where you find your favorites after a few visits or looking into what others enjoy. I'm go to the Uniqlo and Shibuya LA all the time, which are fantastic additions for anyone looking for Japanese fashion, skincare, and cosmetics. Several existing retailers have also refreshed their spaces, including Coach and Lululemon, giving the mall a more modern feel. The outdoor plaza and children's play area are wonderful additions for families. It's a great place to relax while kids burn off some energy and the pet-friendly outdoor spaces make it even more inviting. The dining scene has also improved dramatically. With restaurants like Din Tai Fung, North Italia, Kalbi Social Club (KBBQ), The Melt, and Pacific Catch all within steps of the mall. There are plenty of excellent sit-down options for before or after shopping. The addition of LA Fitness and the new apartment complex will likely make this area even more vibrant and lively. Brea Mall has done an impressive job evolving into more than just a shopping center. It's revived the mall and become a true community destination where you can shop, dine, exercise, and spend the day with family and friends.

After Sears closed, they tore it down and are now building a nice outdoor retail/dining area with some decent restaurants. I'm not sure why apartments taking over a mall parking lot are such a big deal, and not sure I would want to live that close to a major mall, but I assume they make money. The one they do is take up parking. Which is my only complaint. Parking here can be a pain. Whatever you do, never park in the parking garage next to Nordstrom's when it's busy. The cars backed up on the street can be insane, and the guys with the flags to control traffic seem to be there only to help pedestrians cross the road. The last time I tried to park there, we ended up on the very top, which was also full, and only got a spot because someone left. Parking behind the men's/houseware Macy's store used to be great, but then they locked those doors. During the holiday, parking is already bad enough, but with this expanded area, it's only going to get worse. Inside the mall, I do love the mix of stores. The food court has just enough variety to make most people happy. It's also a great mall for walking, especially if you end up parking far enough away from an entrance to earn some extra steps.

So as for the quality of the charge, I got 42kW out of 50kW rated and charged my 2021 Leaf from 59% to 92% in 35 minutes. And that was great. Mind you, the other charging station, Trinity, has spotty performance, so this based on Seth (the chargers are identified by name). But the number of BEV haters out there and just plain ignorant people are another story. I've seen SUV's parked in the charging stalls and multiple people, including an elderly woman driving an ICE Hyundai just leaving their empty carts right in front of a charger. I pointed it out to the lady and told her I'd gladly move her cart and she replied, "I don't know what that means (meaning the charging station)." The Walmart staff didn't seem to care either because the carts blocking the non-BEV spaces were collected, but the ones blocking the charging stations were left behind... Haters? Ignorant? Maybe. Illiterate and can't read? Possibly. Convenient and quick? Definitely.

But I'll put it here for you (source: Tesla's website) Select the SSID "#Free Simon Wi-Fi" (also referred to as a "wireless network name"). Once you are connected to the network, open your browser. A special welcome page will be sent to you that will allow you to get online. For restrooms, go to Macy's, food court, and my favorite would be Nordstrom but that's more of a walk. Lots of restaurants nearby, and nice to have Jamba Juice. Just nice to have a mall location to run errands.

Drove into Charging station 4, by the time I connected & tried to charge, it showed CCS unavailable. The EA app did not show unavailable, so that was annoying. BUT, charging station 1 was open. Well, of course as luck would have it, as I disconnected someone pulls in & starts charging (Mercedes). A Kia EV was already on Charging 3. Hubby and I were hungry, so we decide to head to Fullerton for dinner. Called ahead, Stubriks had no wait so we went for steak dinner. 1.5 hrs later.....we returned to try again. We were shocked and surprised to see the Kia and Mercedes were still there. Still charging. 1015pm finally, the Kia leaves so we got station 3. Omg so slow, 64 kW max charging speed. It's going to take 43 min to charge from 19% to 80%. Location is good because it's next to Brea Mall and access to freeway is close. The charging speed was atrocious, surprised to not even see this station on Yelp so I went ahead and added EA Brea Mall.
