The first thing that stood out was the size of the station. There are 40 DC fast chargers, including 27 Tesla chargers, so finding an available charger wasn't an issue. The entire facility feels modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed with large solar canopies providing shade over the charging stalls. What really separates Rove from a typical charging stop is everything else they offer. There's a ReCharge by Gelson's market with snacks, drinks, and fresh food, a comfortable lounge with free Wi-Fi, clean restrooms, a car wash, complimentary vacuums, and even a water bottle filling station. It feels more like a premium travel stop than a charging station. I especially appreciated the little details. The property was spotless, there was security on site, and the complimentary vacuums were a nice touch. The facility feels safe, well-maintained, and welcoming whether you're stopping for 15 minutes or a longer charge. The location is also convenient right off the 5 Freeway, making it an easy stop while traveling through Orange County. As EV adoption continues to grow, this is exactly the type of charging experience I'd like to see more of. Plenty of chargers, great amenities, clean facilities, and a comfortable place to spend your charging time. If you're an EV owner and haven't checked out Rove yet, it's worth the stop.

It is definitely located in a not so nice neighborhood of Santa Ana. Once I arrived, I appreciated the 2 hour grace period that allows for free charging and the Tesla charger signs available. However, the place is just kind of deserted. I am not sure how it usually is but I definitely agree with the other Yelp user that I wouldn't come here when the sun goes down. Honestly, I probably wouldn't return unless I was in dire need for a charge (Santa Ana marketplace was full or closed). I got excited with all the available slots but the charging is so slow compared to the other superchargers I visit. It was nice to check this location off my list but I probably won't be returning.

It may be hard to find, which could explain why it's not used much. It's in a parking garage located between 4th and 5th streets. Enter on Spurgeon St. from 5th (One Way Street) or 4th. Take the west garage entrance, if you take the east, that's ok, there is a bridge at the roof level. The charging stations are on the third level. You have to take a parking ticket from the machine when you enter. There is a certain amount of free parking, I believe it to be 90 minutes. When you leave you put your ticket back in the machine and the gate arm opens up for you. I haven't been here at night so I don't know if it's sketchy or not. There has always been a guy who hangs out in his car at the end of the garage, who may be a security person. The parking garage abuts a food court off 4th St. with many great choices. Covid has affected many of them and they are shuttered. I have had a great burger there as well as Asian and Mexican choices.
