TESO Life in Brooklyn is an Asian home goods store with multiple locations across the NYC area. I…read morewalked into a large, well managed space stocked heavily toward Asian beauty and cosmetics, which is where this location distinguishes itself most clearly. The makeup and skincare selection is one of the more comprehensive I have found for Asian brands in New York, covering Japanese and Korean products across a range of price points, and the store maintains inventory well enough that shelves are consistently stocked on repeat visits. The claw machines are a notable feature here and occupy enough floor space to be a draw in their own right. I noticed the Pokemon chest slot machine gets a lot of play, and the prizes are generally considered relatively easy to win compared to the price you pay to play. Blind boxes and figurines round out the toy section, with anime and Pokemon merchandise well represented throughout. Snacks and imported goods fill the remaining sections and cover enough variety that browsing is part of the appeal. The store is clean and the layout is navigable without much effort, which matters in a space this densely stocked. Pricing on some beauty products runs close to or slightly above what I would pay at a general retailer like Sephora for the same items, so it is worth cross checking on anything I am buying specifically for value. The strength here is access to products that are harder to find outside of specialty Asian beauty retailers rather than price advantage on items that are widely available elsewhere. Staff at the register were consistently friendly. For Asian beauty products and a browsable mix of snacks, figures, and claw machines in one location, TESO Life in Brooklyn covers a lot of ground in a single stop.

This was my first time visiting this location in Brooklyn. Teso is my favorite Japanese store. It's…read morea great place to buy snacks, drinks, blind boxes, self-care items, and more. The prices are reasonable, and most of the products are imported from Japan or other parts of Asia. This location is fairly large and has a good selection. You can find most of what you're looking for. The staff seemed nice and friendly, and they were efficient at the cash register. Plus, the store was fully stocked and well organized.

Stumbled upon this discount variety store while strolling down 5th Ave during our trip to New York…read more I was looking for inexpensive t-shirts for my family and certainly found them! They also have housewares, snacks, cheap casual clothes (like leggings, pajamas, underwear, socks, etc...) and lots of household stuff. I wouldn't look for nice outfits or dress clothes here, but what they have is great for casual wear. If I lived here I'd be here a lot! I got 6 t-shirts, a pair of pajama pants and luggage tags for my daughter for under $40! At the airport I would have paid a lot more. Made me happy!

I needed a simple dress for a backyard engagement party and thought I found one. It was only $7.99…read more I found another one that is the same size, after observing it the other pattern was better. When I went to check out, the price tag says $9.99. I explained that the dress is $7.99, so I paid and then went to get the other dress to prove it. The cashier went over to the rack and came back with OTHER dresses and then said she "knows how much each clothes are" and said these are "$7.99, not yours". I told her it says that price and she said no. Overall, felt like I was lied, next time I will definitely check the prices. I definitely didn't think the same dresses will have different prices and then have that cashier pretty much say, she knows all the prices even though it says differently. This place is a scam! I wonder how much will it be if I grabbed the $7.99 dress? I don't mind the extra $2, but this is not how business is done. Get yourself together!
