Ever since Teso opened up their first location on Roosevelt, a bunch of similar stores have popped up all around Flushing. I think there's another across the street from the Flushing library and second Teso right around the corner from XinFuTang. They all pretty much carry the same selection of Japanese imported goods. I like the layout of this store better as there's more space in each aisle and the store is quite big as well. This location is a bit further from the hustle and bustle of Main Street but I managed to pick up some cute stickers and a box of Blendy Stick milk tea was on sale. They even have a hot drink section like in Japan 711s! Now if they would just add a hot food section too.

Everything is Automatically items especially imported items from Japan. inside of the stores aren't Crowded at all. Clean and easy to look at each products. It's not very pricey although it's from Overseas. The store is across from Queens public Library you can find it very easy.

This store is filled with so many Japanese goods. Decorative plates and bowls, face masks, snacks, drinks, baby stuff and stationary. They have some anime figures as well. Also, something called a Tenga?

This is like a prettier bigger Teso! And what I loved most about it is the HOT DRINKS SECTION!!!!!! Just like in Japan! I've been waiting for this forever. If you don't know what I'm talking about, refer to the photos. I love the small sized drinks, just the perfect portion. The prices are pretty high but some products go on sale sometimes! They have a lot of buy one get one free deals so watch out for those! Japanese snacks, beauty products, stationary, house hold products, everything you need in a convenience store.

Walked around, lots of options and stuff to check out, staff does follow customers around... guess to stop people from stealing? Doesn't bother me but thought that was interesting. Clean and organized, pretty nice set up. More like 3.5 but giving them a 4 since it's a nice addition in flushing.

This lady follows all customers! No privacy or space given! At least watch from a distance, not breathe down everyone's necks...

Nice and clean store that sells Japanese products. The reason for 2 stars is the incompetent and unfriendly staff. This woman (in the photo I posted) kept following us every aisle we were browsing. How irritably uncomfortable! How is someone supposed to shop while someone is literally breathing down your neck? Not to mention we're still in a pandemic and this woman had no shame standing only 1 foot away. Seriously? I'm not a thief. I wouldn't steal anything especially in this day and digital age.

If you can't go to Japan, this is the next best thing. Seems like quite a few of these stores have been popping up in Flushing and around St Mark's street. Ebisu is a Japanese Drug Store that sells a wonderful assortment of Japanese products. Lots of things made me reminisce of shopping in Japan. Lots of snacks ranging from cookies, jellos, famous snacks, baby snacks, chips, furikake and more. You do need to pay attention for items on sale. Usually they are about to expire the same month or the following month. You can also find kitchenware such as kitchen tools, plates, bowls, utensils, thermos, and more as well. They also sell beauty products such as makeup, beauty care (high end and low end), shampoo and conditioner and masks. There's Japanese medicines, toys, hats, bras....basically everything. It's fun to walk around. I love looking at Japanese products-especially the snacks. Lots of stuff to try. Oh, I love the bag they use for your purchases. Super cute. If you don't make the minimum, the 5 cents is worth it.

A better option to Teso Life. Located by Star Bucks on Main Street. Cashiers are typically friendly! Decent selection.

Produce wise, they have an abundance of veggies and herbs. Fruit selection is not as varied as you would find in Flushing and I find berries are always pricier here - but if you're in a pinch, it'll do. I love their seafood section - we always get their branzino or sea bass and they do a great job deboning and cleaning it out for us so it's prepped and ready for cooking when we get home. Their freezer sections has your classic American frozen foods and also a myriad of Asian ice creams (like melons, mochi ice cream), frozen dim sums and baos, thinly sliced hot pot/bbq meat, and frozen Thai spring roll wrappers if you choose to make your own spring rolls. The refrigerated section have ready to cook Korean noodle dishes, ramen, and even seitan (for all the vegetarians out there!). After paying for your goods, don't forget to give your parking ticket to the cashier to get free parking!

I won't get my onions, bell peppers, or cucumbers anywhere else, and their satsuma mandarins are also a great find. The meat selection is excellent as well and very fresh. The hot food bar is always worth a stop. Their plov (beef or lamb) is a great deal at $9.99/lb, and the meat is unbelievably tender and flavorful. It often runs out later in the day. The samsa are massive, flaky, and come stuffed with pumpkin, beef, lamb, or chicken. The manti and bilyash are also fantastic. You really can't go wrong with any of the prepared foods. They also carry a wide variety of Central Asian and Eastern European groceries, including seasonings, teas, sweets, pickled vegetables, honey, and more. The bread selection is another highlight, with fresh Uzbek non or lepeshka. The space itself is pretty small and cramped, so it feels more like a quick "grab what you need and go" kind of store rather than a place to casually browse. A line of only a few people can stretch to the back, but the cashiers do a great job keeping things moving. Tashkent also recently opened a location in Manhattan that I checked out, and it's a larger space with even more selection.

They also carry a number products and brands less commonly found in other Chinese supermarkets. This Skyfoods is one of a few locations, two in Flushing and one in Elmhurst; this one sits on the first floor of the Shops at Skyview on College point Avenue in downtown Flushing. Walking in from the main entrance to the shops this is kinda hidden towards the back of the building. It's nice that it doesn't usually get too crowded. They give free parking in the structure if you shop and buy over $40. What's nice similar to some other larger Asian grocery stores (Hmart, Mitsuwa) is they sometimes do sampling stations on weekends where they showcase a handful of products. My last purchase of a box of Asian pears was because I got to try a couple pieces of sweet fruit so I felt confident in picking up a box. Aside from fresh produce, meat and seafood, dried, canned and packaged foods, they have relatively larger refrigerated foods and tea/drinks and snack sections. See pics of some interesting products. Also for example they carry some instant powdered sweet fruit (jujube, sour plum) teas here I don't find in other places, and for that reason alone I make a trip here every so often.
