I stumbled upon this store exploring the buildings in industry city & I'm so glad I did. It is a Japanese based store but it's slowly opening in the US. It offers a wide variety of products included across different categories such as:household items, ramen,stationery,candy,soda, makeup, & more @ a affordable price. My fave was the Sanrio products which I absolutely loved! I couldn't get enough of this store. I spent a good amount of time in it & felt I didn't even get to browse through everything. Daiso is small yet it features so much at such a great value. While we don't have Daiso in my state in Virginia there are simular stores that feature the same products. But I do think Daiso features more unique stuff that features household goods, beauty supplies, bathroom, stationary, and even snacks! I was checking out Japan Village and had to make a stop at Daiso. I was able to find some snacks to take on the bus ride home that day. The prices were affordable, I think what I paid for a few snacks and a eye mask to sleep was under 20 dollars! Pretty good value here! I think I'd enjoyed it more if the store was bigger. But for what Daiso has to offer, you will find something to take home. Trust me on that! read more

This is a fun little stop; It's basically a Japanese discount store with a bunch of affordable cute random finds, snacks, stationery, home stuff. I spent more than expected, when I seen all the cinnamoroll Sanrio items they have, because that's my daughter's fav character. I also racked up on some ramen. It is kinda small and gets crowded quick, but still worth popping into if you like browsing. read more

I've come around to this Daiso over the years. At first it felt paltry compared to the larger locations, but it's now my go-to spot for containers (small/manageable sized containers), cute dishware, and other misc. household goods. The quality is generally very good for the affordable prices and it's convenient for locals. The store is always clean and easy to navigate. read more

Grand opening! A brand new location opens up in Brooklyn's Industry City! February 25 and 26. They are giving out free goodie bags filled with products to the first 100 people who buy $30. Every time I come into this store, I find something I didn't know I needed until now. Lol. Check it out if you've never been. This is the Japanese version of a dollar store.  Many products with cute Kawaii themed items. Majority of their quality products are $1.99.  The concept of the store is that the products must be quality and sell at a low price.   Products vary: kitchenware, tools, hair and nail products, housewares, slippers, ceramics, bags, gardening, bath products, stationary items, tools, arts and crafts, pet supplies, stuffed animals, toys, plates and cups, bento boxes, cooking items, food, snacks and drinks, and more. Daiso has over 5000 stores, all over the world. First founded way back in 1997, in Japan. Started out as a little street vendor. Location. Yesterday was the grand opening of this amazing Japanese store, featuring useful items, tasty snacks, super cute plushies, beauty products, and all types of high quality necessities for wonderfully low prices. Most products cost only $1.99. There were beautiful bouquets of flowers in front to commemorate the occasion. This place is located in Japan Village within Industry City in Brooklyn. It was a little bit difficult to find the entrance, which is on the 2nd floor and above Li-lac Chocolates. We had to go in and out of several buildings to finally reach the right spot. Since I arrived around 9:30AM (half an hour before opening time), I was pretty close to the front of the line. There was a count down to 10AM and the shop actually opened right on time. The set up was nicely organized and very neat, clean, as well as visually pleasing. The only issue I saw was the price wasn't always listed clearly. For the items that did have prices, they were in Yuan and you would then need to figure out the conversion. There were several postings throughout the store that listed the conversion rates. Also, there were way too many people inside, which made it very crowded, difficult to look at all the products, and figure out what I wanted. The staff definitely should have initially let less customers enter. I was also trying to get enough items to equal at least $30 because I really wanted to score a goodie bag which are given to the first 100 people to spend that amount. I selected a soft fluffy hot pink neck pillow, purple hot / cold gel pack, pink loofah with hearts, chopsticks, paper cutter, and binder clips. Since the pricing is so low, I knew that wasn't enough but I got into the already quite long line which wrapped around the store. I was able to continue to shop while I was in line, and picked out black and pale pink slippers, vacuum seal bag, Q tips, hair dye kit, red bean pastry, noodles, and lastly, tempura flavored wheat crackers. All of this merchandise was $36! The goodie bag included a drink, fruit smoothie lollipops, chicken curry noodles, mints, tempura seaweed snack, along with other treats. Overall, the staff were awesome. They were friendly, knowledgeable, as well as helpful. In addition, they were efficient at getting folks in and out. I really enjoyed Daiso, and am happy there's now one in the borough I live in! It's one of the best discount stores I've visited. read more

Too small for too many people. Too little selection compare to other Daiso shops. It was not exciting for me at all.

Basically an amazing Japanese dollar store. Upstairs in Industry City. You can take an elevator or walk up stairs. Very cute. I found lots of affordable stuff I liked: slippers, a shower curtain, and some other odds and ends. I spent about $15 total. Doesn't have Apple Pay in the self check-out, but takes cards and cash. read more

Very underwhelming. Located inside of Japan Village in Industry City. Cute area. This location was quite small. Wasn't wowed with anything. Some of the stuff was pricier than expected. A whiteboard was around $10. Some things are well priced or seem a step above US dollar tree quality. This is a very small store and gets quite crowded. It's hard to navigate the small aisles. The Disney x Daiso stuff was cute. Some random things like a hand cranked paper shredder or vacuum sealed corn. read more

Frankly, I expected more. Cheap goods on the cheap. It's like a more disappointing version of Muji. On top of offering a massive assortment of wildly underwhelming products (everything from snacks to pencil cases), the crowds were horrendous. I was not compelled to spend more than ten minutes browsing the aisles, let alone another thirty waiting to wade through the check-out queue. Glad I got to see first-hand what the buzz was about, but I don't expect to make a reprise. read more

Have been to Daiso in California and Japan so was super excited to check out this local one in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, it was pretty underwhelming. Store is on the smaller side with a basic selection of snacks, home and office goods. Didn't find anything appealing enough to buy. read more

Not as nice as the one in Edgewater, NJ. This one in Brooklyn is cramped but I guess New Yorkers are used to living like mice or canned sardines. Anyway this Daiso is just as good. read more

Everything is so cute!!! Most items are priced at $1.99. They have household items, stationary, toys and Japanese snacks. I've been there twice since it's grand opening and both times I went I mangage to find something I never knew I even needed lol. read more

Taking one star away just because it was somewhat confusing as to how to get to the Brooklyn Daiso. There weren't any big signs guiding people to the store front as it's somewhat hidden. At this time once you get out of the elevator, there are 3 small businesses lined across the left side of the 2nd floor. To get to Daiso, you have to walk past all those three stores and the entrance will be straight down, on the right hand side. Hopefully this helps for anyone who goes. But other than that, I love everything from Daiso. read more
