My friend/neighbor went here, & told me they were "great". I thought heh? a laundromat? what could be so great about thaaaat? Unknowing, I was. It WAS great. I gave em all my clothes I was too lazy to wash, 75% of it clothes I wear to boxing or kickboxing, & a bunch of handwraps and sports bras. Hunnny, they did it ALL, made it smell nice, folded it so good I wondered about the technique, separated the stuff that shoulda been, & best of all, re-wrapped my handwraps, even better than I woulda, velcro & all. I was kinda amazed, but more impressed. It didn't take long to do at all, and when I showed up an hour & half early, they already had it bagged and ready in the back. Now, it's a small lil place to do your own laundry, so wear yuh mask and side-step past other folks if you plan to do that. And there are sooo many laundromats in that area, you may go elsewhere to make sure you get a machine. I drive over from Hoboken every few weeks to do laundry because I find this place super clean and well maintained. I've even used pickup/delivery service and had great service. It's a fairly small establishment that can get quite busy. But I always find parking and can get in/out within a few hours. read more

I started to come to Tessie's Soap Box to do my own laundry a couple of months ago after all the good reviews I've read. And I must agree that the staff is very friendly and helpful, their machines are well maintained and clean, and their prices are very reasonable. I recently tried Tessie's wash and fold service after personally speaking with Tessie where she proactively asked if I had any type of allergies, showed me the products that she uses, and if I had any preferences to the brands. I was certainly impressed and was confident my laundry was good in hands. Even more so when I received my laundry the very next day. Everything smelled so good and clean. My clothes and other garments were properly folded and seperated. I even love the little tags she attaches to the laundry bags. :) which I can use when it's time for pick up. Thank you Tessie!!! I been using laundromat drop-off service all my life, but Tessie's is the most clean, caring, organize and reliable laundromat I had ever been to!!! Also I really appreciate the best reliable on time door to door pick-up and drop-off service in the world. That helps me greatly because I always have a large load to wash. I've been using this laundromat on a regular basis for nearly 3 years. It's a really nice local neighborhood spot. The machines are cleaned on a regular basis, and they do touch ups throughout the day. I very rarely find drops of laundry detergent on the machine. They even insist that people don't use the carts for their dirty laundry. They have baskets for sorting dirty items. This makes a lot of sense since you'd need to use the carts to wheel your clean, wet laundry to the dryers. They have pretty good hours too - open at 7 am and last wash at 9 pm (closes at 10 pm). A few times, the employee working there couldn't hide her disappointment when I came in with my laundry at 8:45. They didn't say anything, but I could just tell. Unfortunately that's sometimes the only time I can get my laundry done. Otherwise, the employees there are pretty friendly and very helpful, especially when I need change for a $20 bill. They have change machines but it only gives quarters. They also sell detergent, softener, dryer sheets, and laundry bags. They have 2 vending machines with chips, cookies, sodas and other snacks. I've never used them though. Plus, on a monthly basis, they offer fun specials that might make for a free wash or 20 minutes of free drying. Sometimes they raffle off items like a flat screen TV. This laundromat is very small so I often try to go during off hours - really early or late on the weekends and around midday during the weekdays. One side is lined with washing machines (2 different sizes) and the other side is lined with dryers. Along the front they have benches while you wait. They offer free WIFI, coffee/ tea, and reading materials. They have several magazine titles that are restocked every month. I hate doing my laundry but at least I can catch up with my gossip mags! Overall, this a nice, clean neighborhood laundromat. They're slightly more expensive than the laundromats on Palisades Ave. but this location offers free WIFI, which can't be beat. read more

The absolute worst service ever. The owner who took my order wouldn't stop running her mouth to listen to the proper instructions. Til the point where she messed up my whole order. She claimed she personally handled our order, so it wouldn't get messed up. I gave her instructions to separate my stuff from my moms belongings. I made it very clear, that there is two people in the order and that we do not want it mixed up. I also told her my mom has an allergy to certain detergent and fabric softener, so I asked her not to mix our stuff. She didn't hear clearly because she was to busy running her mouth I guess. TIl the point where she mixed everything together including our underwear she mixed two adults underwear and wash them together all of our clothing was washed and dried together not even separated. We had to sort thru the clothes to find out whose was what. A few of my expensive items went missing. When I spoke to the owner she took no accountability. Said she was not responsible for any missing items. She also said that, is what they do, they wash all of their customers clothes together. Her customer service is like no other and her reviews speak for themselves..we used the drop off/pickup service for the first time and couldnt have been happier. Tessie let me know there were more pickups than she anticipated and Matthew the delivery driver would be later than the time originally stated. Even being so busy especially with the quarantine everything was ready and dropped off within 2 days. Tessie's is great! We've used them for drop-off service a number of times and they do a wonderful job. This last time, I told Tessie that one of the shirts had bleach poured on it by accident and she said she'd look through the dirty laundry, take it out, rinse it in the sink to see if the bleach and colors ran, and then only add it to the laundry if they did not. They did all of that and everything worked out very well. They even attached a note to the shirt after it was clean to describe what they did. For pick up and drop off Theresa and her tream rocked my world. I had nearly a hundred pounds of clothing that they would have brought back to me cleaned and folded in 24 hours if my schedule had permitted. Wow. Pricing was great, too. How often can you say less than expected? Their drivers are great, tbe staff follows directions and requests (and i had a lot of those), and your clothes come back quickly, folded well, and organized! It was so nice to have shirts with shirts, pants with pants, and the underthings all in their own bag . I'm here every weekend doing my laundry! All the ladies who work here are so sweet and nice! I love going to this local spot for laundry. Their washers and dryers are large and big enough to fit your comforters in. They also have WiFi, which is a first for me. I've never seen a laundromat offer free WiFi. If your new to the neighborhood, this is a good spot to get your laundry done. They do offer drop off service too. I believe it's 95cents a pound, which is about 25 cents more than the other place down the block. The washers are 2.25 a load and the dryers are 25 cents for 8 minutes. read more

The ladies who work here are wonderful and have what I like to call magical folding powers... every piece of wash and fold laundry I give them comes back folded so perfectly and all the same size. It took my 3 years of living in the NYC area to discover that there are places that will wash and fold for you, after that, life was never the same. When I moved into the heights I knew that at some point even me with my low need bachelor life style would need clean clothes and after some research I found Tessies. I was floored by how much attention they gave me at my first wash, any special allergies I had to soaps, any special requests? Im a simple man, my mind stopped at "Wash" but I appreciated the sentiment. In the year I used them Tessie was never late, and the clothes were perfectly folded, smelled amazing and never had a sock missing (Which I always assumed was humanly impossible). I have had great experiences with Tessie's since I started coming here over a year ago. I use their drop-off service every week. She has a great staff (Saeda, Cindy, Marimar) and they are always conscientious and cheerful. My clothes are always delivered on time, clean and smelling fresh. The hours at this laundry mat is flexible especially if you do not like doing laundry during the day you can do it later on. Last wash is around 8pm. read more

I moved into the neighborhood in January of this year. I have had nothing but good experiences at Tessie's. The laundromat is super clean and the staff are super friendly!! I haven't used the drop off service, yet, but I've seen the ladies in action! They are attentive to the clients instructions and they can fold those annoying fitted sheets like they are brand new from the package. I've even seen them ironing... WOWWWWW!! that is a lost art. :) Tessie's even runs the occasional month long promotion... for example, during the months of April and May, wash a load of clothes, dry for free. Awesome!
