She told me since I had good insurance it wouldnt hurt to have a doctor that specializes in eye muscles check me out. So with her advice I looked online for an eye doctor and found Dr. Leemor Rotberg at children's eye care center. I read great reviews on her and figured what did I have to lose. I scheduled and appt. and went in hopeful but realistic. She was AMAZING....She told me I had 4th nerve palsy and said she was optimistic that if she did surgery on my eye muscle that she could correct my double vision. I couldn't believe me ears, and I just started crying. Tears of joy and disbelief that after all these years of being told nothing could be done, that now I was being told I might see normal again! As I sat there crying with my hands over my face she put her arms around me and said your going to be ok. On December 11th 2015, I went into surgery and a week later already was seeing almost perfect. It's now been 2 months a my vision is fabulous! I see a little double when looking straight up but that's not even a concern of mine when Everything else is so great! I never imagined I would see normal again and because of Dr. Rotberg I have gained my quality of life back. I am forever in her debt I just wish I could repay her somehow. That is why I am writing this review to let the world know how wonderful she is and if anyone reading this ever is told nothing can be done about whatever issue you are having, please consult a specialist. It's awesome! Dr. Akler says my vision will further improve which is crazy for me to think about. Dr. Akler, Barbara, and their whole staff are very thorough with their consultation. They did tests the "commercial LASIK" places didn't do when I went there for a consult. The surgery was the weirdest thing you can do, but I would do it again hands down x 1000000. The surgery itself was pain-free. Dr. Akler talks you through the whole surgery while she's doing it. I did have some pain for the first 2 hours when I got home, but it went away and hasn't been back. I've had no complications and I attribute that to a great consultation (ensuring I'm a good candidate), following the pre-op instructions, and the skills and knowledge of Dr. Akler. I had surgery the next day and Dr. Randhawa has done an amazing job at following up himself with my care and appointments. I had the same surgery 20 years ago with Dr. Williams on my other eye and have been seeing him yearly for 20 years. I have been very happy with all the doctors I have seen and their care. This location has a fairly shorter wait time than other locations I've been to and I've been able to get in and out quickly.

This office is listed as an in-network provider under my eye insurance which means free eye exams…read more However, per their "office policy" they wanted to charge me $190 claiming they do "dilation and refraction" which are "medical". All comprehensive eye exams include dilation. And refraction is only required IF you need corrective lens. I told them they are in violation of their contract with my insurance provider so I reported it to my insurance provider. I asked to speak to the office manager and was told she wasn't in today, yet she talked to the insurance provider. I was also told I was "being mean" to them because I was questioning them. A supervisor at the insurance provider called their office manager (who magically was there) and Livonia Ophthalmologists PC flat out refused to honor the contract so they had to file an insurance fraud claim against them.
