Well I had a cash deposit to make, and I decided to see the shared branch list had changed any? It did, and now CU access is a bike ride away. I've been to Unity One a couple times now, and service has been good. It's not as busy as AA, and that's good too. It seems to take a little longer for shared branch activities, but I think it's because they have to access a different system. Only down thing? Well at AA they seemed to always have a plate of cookies out. Here, there's just a bowl of Dumb Dumb Lollipops. This CU also has drive up, something I don't think AA had. Bottom line: Nice to have this option close to home.

Standing in the drive-thru bugs me. Every other bank I know has a walk up ATM. I get the logistics, but as a pedestrian, I don't like it. Other than that, I would have gone four stars, mostly because of it's location. It's close (half a mile) to the Bear Creek Park Trail, so it makes for a nice, and pleasant, walking destination. During the day the wait time is reasonable, so the lack of a walk-up ATM is no big deal, but after hours it is. The staff here is always friendly and helpful. Bottom line: Where's the Halloween Candy?

The bank closed at 1:00, and what we needed done required us to be there until almost 2:00. We apologized to Rosanna and she said things like - "no problem", "I understand this is probably the time you both can make it happen with your busy work week", "we don't walk out of here at 1:00 anyway", "it is my pleasure" etc. I know she has young children and would probably appreciate getting home on a Saturday! Most of the time we use a branch closer to our home but this branch is convenient if you have errands to run in the 377 area in Watauga. After getting a little money, I was headed out the door when a gentleman (Cergio) asked if I was interested in saving money on my Chevy's loan. I told him my Chevy was paid for but we bought a new Cadillac a few months prior and I had been trying to get that loan over to EECU with zero luck. In fact, I had been told they were 90+ days behind and were not working to refinance loans very much. I was shocked when the people at our home branch had told me this. All previous experiences with EECU had been great in terms of incentive, speed, service, etc.... I had always found everyone very helpful and responsive so this lagging lengthy display was a new experience. I asked Cergio if he was serious and if he could get the loan switched over within a few weeks. He told me he felt that was exactly what he would do. I spent few minutes getting him our details, exchanging emails and phone numbers and off I went curious as to how this would progress. I had applied four months prior at our branch but was told they could t help us for months. Within 2-3 weeks, Cergio got our loan refinanced, saved us some money with a lower rate and had the loan closed. He even assisted in getting our insurance certificate over to the right people at EECU. Thank you Cergio and Watauga EECU! You did a super job and helped me accomplish something I had been trying to do for months. He had no idea when he approached me. I wanted to let his management team know that his efforts and service are rare today and we appreciate him!

The brach staff is friendly and their online banking works well once one learns its quirks. If you need other banking services, things go down hill quickly. For example, when we inquired about a car loan we found that they were a full percentage point above three other quotes we had. When we went in to get our wills notarized, we were informed they do not offer that service, even after a staff member had assured us during a telephone call before we went in that they do offer that service. There is also an old vault door that glides to secure the safe deposit boxes. The door is really super cool. The mechanics of the insides are revealed by a glass panel and looks great. Staff was limited, tho very nice and helpful.
