I discovered the place through my friend, Greg Buchold. I had been admiring a Mardi Gras mask and wreath that he had put on his door and he told me about the place. I went looking for Mardi Gras stuff but was blown away by the extensive collection of cookbooks and design books that they sell, all discounted from retail list prices. But there was much much more. Just when I think I've seen everything there is to see in Houston, something new pops up on my radar. Check out the photos.

They don't just have ribbon--they have a ribbon room. They don't just have ornaments--they have an ornament room. Same for wreathes/garland as well as picks/sprays/branches. They have large items too, such as sleighs, artificial trees, and shopping mall quality vibrant statues/characters/displays. Most things are well-priced, however the large unique items will cost you much more than most of us will want to pay. Would I compare this place to the decorators warehouse up in Arlington/DFW?--absolutely. Both are awesome for Christmas decor.

The process is very personal so that took some getting used to but I found that to be the most enjoyable about it. You get one hour to decorate your bear and if you're local you have a few days to pick it up once it dries. Our bears were $85 and shipping was $15. The delivery was smooth and my baby made it to me without any issues. I named her Fern :-). I'd definitely recommend this as a fun activity that's not liquor or food focused. Parking was a bit hectic but we were able to find something right outside. The area itself is walkable with lots of shops and places to eat surrounding it also.

When I arrived, I was grateful to see reserved parking spaces right in front. I was not eager to tackle Rice Village parking, so this convenience was a benefit for me. Upon walking in, I asked where I could find some potentially matching fabric and the salesgirl was so helpful! She pointed me in the right direction. Since I was looking for white fabric, she recommended I take the fabric outside in the sun to make sure it matches (can't trust white with the florescent lights!). That greatly helped, as the first fabric I thought would work ended up not matching at all once I took it in the sun. After a few tries, I found a fabric that was perfect!
