I went through the drive through. The burger was average. It was cooked but relied on the condiments and vegetables for flavor. The onion rings were bad. Lots of crumbly coating but the onions had no flavor. Obviously frozen and a big waste of money. Speaking of east's of money...the cookies, I got white chocolate and macadamia nuts, at $1.29 each, were not only a waste of money, but also a waste of ingredients and talk about small. From outside we thought the place would be better than fast food. When going inside and placing the orders, it definitely comes across as more fast food but a little nicer digs. We had three different burgers, regular fries, spicy fries and frito pie. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. I hate to give bad reviews but for the price and with how nice the place looks, I have to. And I sat on this for a month and it still bothers me. The burgers were less than ok. The meat is super thin, almost like a smash burger, definitely seemed like a frozen patty and had little taste. My burger was the chili cheese burger and I couldn't eat it. I had a couple bites, thought it was me because I had a bad headache so left it for the next day: the next day it was just as bad. The chili meat tastes like the stereotypical chili meat out of a can that you used to find at crappy gas stations or movie houses. It was such a turn off I literally ended up throwing it away - and I will eat just about anything, just ask my wife. My son loves fries but he wasn't a fan, I honestly don't know why. Mine were the spicy and they were mediocre at best. We got a couple onion rings in or fries though we didn't ask, they seemed to be the ordinary frozen ones. The frito pie was ordinary except that it had the same chili and my wife couldn't eat it. Again, hate to be mean but she commented the same thing I was thinking, it tasted like you would imagine wet dogfood to taste based on the smell when you open the cans. Again, I hate giving this review but it was just such a turn off. We live food and generally are easy to please. If the food was mediocre or like other major fast food chains, we would gave finished our food. But it wasn't. I see other reviews that their food is as good as In N Out and other places. We go to In N Out here in Austin or Mighty Fine Burger and other places. There is no comparison. Did we go on a bad day? I don't get into "trendy stops" or follow fads; however, Texas Burger had been suggested to me so many times, it became almost annoying. So I set out this last week to check it out for myself. HOLY MOLY!! I have never had a burger delivered to me that hot, that fresh, that fast. The service alone is more than an ample reason to return, I was a bit early, so I'm sure they were well rested. The restaurant was very nice, clean, the semi rustic ambiance was nice. I sat at one of the ginormous windows facing the car wash. Not exciting, but I wasn't there for a scenic view. I did drive-thru. The double cheese burger was delicious. It was great. This is coming from someone that lives in Los Angeles that has In and Out. The chili cheese fries was okay. I let the shredded cheese melt too long. I say it is not recommended to buy chili cheese fries if taking it home. Unless, you like the cheese melted like that. The steak fingers were alright. Compared to days of old, this place has slipped down the hill. The food is ok, but no love goes into making it. Our burgers were all lopsided, which might not usually be an issue, but when you have jalapeno paste all on one side between the two patties and none on the other side, that just shows NO attention to detail or care for the end product. Onion rings were good as usual. The biggest issue here is the price for mediocre food. Two people can go in here, order two burgers, two onion rings, and two sodas and leave for $35-40. This is not quality food anymore, this is fast food. If they are going to treat it that way, then they need to make the prices the same as all the other fast food places. High priced food = high quality--and they are not there, not anywhere near it. read more

We have been to this location a number of times and have enjoyed it. Great food! Tasty burgers. Great homemade ice cream. I am some what of a French fry addict and I have to say, I really enjoyed Texas Burger regular fries. I have yet to try the seasoned ones. Tried this Texas Burger again, it was Sunday night, about 7:30,went thru the drive up, ordered 2 burgers and one order of fries, it was $16 and my wife had to throw her bun away, it was smashed flat and saturated with grease! The bottom part of the bun was watered down with mustard and water from the lettuce and veggies. I paid for jalapeños on my burger--there were none. I wonder if management even was present on Sunday? The kids working there were not at all concerned about the customers, seems like they were preoccupied with themselves! Goodbye Texas Burger, you have lost a customer from the 90's that used to think this was a great place to go for a good hamburger. Do not make the same mistake we made, go somewhere else! So I called this location to place a to go order the person that answered the phone sounded annoyed and asked someone else if they wanted to take a to go order over the phone that person said no and so the person on the phone asked another person and that person said no then finally a manager took my order and continued to ask me is that it after every item I told them not giving me the opportunity to finish my order. when i got my order it was wrong and I had to go inside to get it corrected anyways , I only get 30 mins and I spent my whole lunch time getting my order corrected!! I love burgers and fries. So I love trying new burger joints. This place is quite average, yet gets the job done. It's a walk up and order type place. Lady behind the register was friendly and got my order correct. The menu is quite simple. Basically burgers, a couple chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders. A burger place should have a simple menu like that. I opted for the Texas Cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. The chili cheese fries were LOADED with chili and cheese. It's was a little too much. There was probably 3 parts chili and cheese to 1 part fries. The fries were frozen crinkle cuts that could probably use more time in the fryer. Needed more crispness and crunch. Even if they were though, the excess amount of cheese and chili would have made them soggy in less than 20 seconds. The burger, however, was VERY good. It's the old fashioned type with the grilled bun, and properly grilled and charred meat patty. I'm a fan of shredded lettuce as well. The burger reminds me of Whataburger. Not overlooked either. Sweet tea was average. Overall, it hit the spot of my burger craving but the fries need some serious help. Oh, and also, this is one of the restaurants that displays your order number on the wall so you have to constantly pay attention to it else your food just sits and gets cold. What's so hard about a microphone and announcing the order number? Get rid of that TV displaying the orders please and just make it simple. The service and the quality have sure gone down since the old days when I worked there for Sherman Cox at the Imperial shopping center location. They're never ready to take your order when they answer the phone and they slop the burgers together so it's a mess when you pull it out of the bag. The jalapeño burgers are not near the quality they used to be either, just slopped together too. It's such a shame because they used to be special. read more

This is one of the better fast food burger joints in town. I come here for a quick meal that is always hot and tasty. Very clean and have always had good service. Plus I don't know of another burger joint in town that sells scooped ice cream that taste nearly as good! read more

If I could put a negative star I would , I can't believe Texas burger had went down hill. My daughter ate a cheeseburger and the next day she was sick to her stomach couldn't keep nothing down all day. I worked in restaurants when I was younger and know that all fried food should be golden brown. Fries , onion rings and chicken strips were dark dark brown no good need to change out the grease once it is burned. Onion rings are not homemade any more they are the worse. At the end of the day employees and management need to take pride in the service and the quality of the food they are serving. I will not be giving my money to this particular Texas burger any time soon. read more

**For those of you expecting a gourmet burger this isn't the place. Go visit Addie's Diner or Grub Burger Bar.** This is a great place for a good "fast food" burger though. All burgers are made from certified black angus beef. Buns are nice and toasty. The jalapeño cheese burger is double meat bliss with jalapeño relish and cheese between the two patties. They also put a cherry pepper on top of every burger. Texas burger also offers chicken strip and shrimp dinners on their menu. I have yet to try them but by the looks of the patrons plates they pile it on. The sweet tea is really good. Beware: if you're diabetic get unsweetened tea, there's a ton of sugar in this tea. They have an ice cream parlor inside that makes shakes, parfait, banana splits, & sundaes. This place is always clean and staff is friendly. Very well run business! read more

Drive thru was extremely slow and our order was wrong when we got to the window... tried to correct this with young man working the window... who then apparently gave us the wrong order anyway. We called as soon as we got home and found the order was wrong and was told the manager was too busy to talk... said sorry and hung up? Unbelievable! I went thru the drive thru to get ice cream. Just 2 scoops in a cup. When i got to the window they asked me to pull off to the side and they would bring it to me. After 10 mins and six cars later, i drove around and got back in the drive thru line. Once i got to the window, i informed them very politely that it has now been 17 mins and i still had not gotten my ice cream. The window clerk was so rude and handed me my cup of ice cream. I immediately brought it home for my dad and when he took the lid off, not only was it completely melted, it was not even the correct flavor!! If i could have given them 0 stars i would have. Since we live on this side of town we used to go often but here recently, the service is terrible, the wait is forever and rarely is our order correct. I do not recommend this Texas Burger to anyone. I love this place, really I do. but I went in today and ordered the steak finger basket, or tried to. it was the first day of this little young girl, I explained in detail I just wanted the basket, not the dinner which cost more. she kept trying to order the dinner, then an experienced employee come over to check on her and the veteran employee tried to sell me the dinner too. so I had to go into deep detail I just wanted the basket to both of them. I almost walked out. how stupid can people be, I even spelled it out to both of them. ok so I got my order in finally, they called my number and I went and got it and it was chicken strips. LoL the lady that's been there a long time did all this training the new girl. LoL I'll still go back there no problem. but not in that location I promise you that. Make sure you verify your order when going through the drive thru. I questioned the drive thru attendant last time I was there because I was ordering for my family of four and needless to say; I had ordered 4 mains and 4 sides. When handed one bag with food, I ask the girl if she is sure all items were in that one bag (which was piled to the brim). She said yes she was sure and once home discovered 2 items missing. Called the store manager and told her this same thing and she said, "so you are missing half your order?" I then had to politely do the math for her and explained that 2/8 is equal to 25% of my order missing.
