Every year he goes over our policies with us to make sure our coverages is still appropriate. I also love his daughter who works with him. She immediately called an adjuster to help me resolve the problem. One week went by and so I called her again because I hadn't received a call from the adjuster. Again, she was friendly and professional to resolve the problem. The problem was resolved. It is so nice when you call an office and greeted with a welcoming voice and who knows what they're doing. We have been with Amanda Escobar agency and Allstate for a really long time and have always gotten good results.

He is correct that his insurance company cancelled his policy (in the orchestra music industry), and our construction oriented insurance agency simply had no policy options for him.

While I know that these things happen, I was annoyed that I heard about it from the insurance carrier without a hint from the broker that we had an impending problem. When we called the broker to find out what was going on we received a "yeah, I guess I heard it through the grapevine that they were cancelling you." I would normally expect a broker to be proactive, and in a situation like this I expect them to be coming to me with a solution. The next thing I know I am getting a form letter from the broker letting me know that they enjoyed having us as clients but that they'd be unable to place our insurance. We've never made a claim on our insurance, so I seriously doubt that there's any real issue in finding a policy. Even after many years of doing business we apparently weren't worthy of a phone call. Naturally my irritation led me to write an e-mail to the owner of the firm, Steve Smith. In that e-mail I let them know that their customer service sucked. Well apparently I struck a nerve. This guy is literally picking an e-mail fight with me, going on and on about how they didn't do anything wrong and what I butthead I was for thinking that they owed us anything. He has e-mailed me three times with diatribe after diatribe, putting any blame for our unhappiness on us! The degree to which he is attacking is both bizarre and laughable. Clearly Smith is a loudmouth who just has to have the last word, even as he is driving off of a cliff. On a scale of 1 to 10, these guys get a (-5) for customer disservice.
