I had been fighting cracks in my pool for years which I had dealt with DIY and professionally. When they reappeared late last summer they were severe enough that I was losing 300-400 gallons of water daily to the leaks. My resignation to these facts had me considering the expensive task of removing the deck and pool and restoring it to gardens and lawn. I was dejectedly surfing the net to see what else might be out there as a repair solution when I started reading about restoring plaster pools with fiberglass resurfacing. I wasn't too sure this would be any better than the solutions I had tried previously, but I was intrigued enough to search for a fiberglass pool contractor. Texas Fiberglass Pools jumped right to the top of the list. I called and asked if a representative could come discuss my long term problem with cracks and the unsuccessful efforts to eliminate them. Two days later Oliver Gonzales came at the appointed time to review my circumstances. I gave him the 3-year history of the problem and he was able to view the very visible cracks I had been fighting. Then he proceeded to tell me how Texas Fiberglass Pools would deal with my problems. I thanked him for his assessment, but told him I had made a significant investment a year ago. I was not ready to do that again with the chance that the solution might have a short shelf life. I was particularly concerned that the crack repair Oliver proposed would just shift the problem to another part of the pool. Oliver assured me otherwise, and stated that Texas Fiberglass Pools was so confident in it's methods that I would have a five year warranty against cracks if I elected to accept his proposal. So it was with that re-assurance that I entered an agreement with Texas Fiberglass Pools to perform the repairs and restoration. The project was handled in a timely and professional manner from the start. It began on a Tuesday and took about a week to complete. The crew (usually 3 or 4 men) showed up each day on time in company trucks and dressed in company shirts and worked diligently to complete the work. That consisted of emptying the pool, drying it out, performing a pressure test, addressing the visible cracks with steel staples, sanding the plastered surface to create a better bond, applying a primer coat, sanding the primer coat, laying fiberglass and smoothing any roughness, applying a final gel coat, doing brick and tile repair/replacement, and cleaning up all the details associated with all the work. After curing, the pool was refilled, and a tech representative arrived each day to treat the water until the water chemistry was where it was supposed to be. Then, after all that work and to my complete surprise, two workers from Texas Fiberglass Pools showed up unexpectedly to inspect some minor sealant repairs that had been done (about 6 feet). I wasn't sure what was going on but the workers put me on the phone with Oliver. Oliver told me he wasn't satisfied with the minor sealant repairs and told me (at no cost) he was going to remove and replace all of the sealant between the brick coping and deck (about 70 feet). So those two workers spent the next couple of hours removing, cleaning, taping and replacing all the joint material with a flexible sealant. This unscheduled work would have cost me, at least, several hundred dollars to have been completed. So I am particularly grateful for this generous courtesy. Only time will tell if the pool repairs completed by Texas Fiberglass Pools will hold up over the next few seasons. However, this time I have the comfort of a lengthy warranty. Almost as comforting as the warranty are the words of re-assurance and confidence in their methods that come from Oliver, (owner and sales) and his father-in law, Martin (owner and hands-on with the crews). I also received the same degree of care and re-assurance from Gabriel Chairez (sales and crews supervisor). These guys have been at this for a long time and have a lengthy list of satisfied customers, me included now. I really believe their methods will succeed where others have failed. If they do fail, I am confident that they will be there to honor their word and warranty. read more

Fiberglass over gunite, I was skeptical at first, but after researching and talking with Gabriel of Texas Fiberglass Pools , I decided that fiberglass made a lot of sense. This pool is 30 yrs, old, it had a bad structural crack at one end due to roots pushing against the the wall of the pool, all I saw was big dollars signs to repair this. Gabriel and his team explained to me the scope of work, price it upfront, and proceeded to make the repair in one days time, they cut out a 6ft X 3 ft section of the pool wall, cut back the roots, formed the new wall and poured concrete. I was amazed at how good these guys are and it was all done at a price that was a lot less than I expected. Next they resurfaced the pool using their fiberglass process, replaced the pool tile and it looks phenomenal. I thought I was done, but no, the wife was adamant about getting the pool light repaired. I really did not want to do this as I had a gut feeling the conduit for the pool light was damaged. Well of course it was! Gabriel priced it up front and gave me a really profound piece of advice, " happy wife happy life" I said do it. Again this is a pretty extensive repair which included saw cutting a portion of the pool deck and running the conduit to the switch on the side of the garage. They replaced the light, new conduit, patched in the concrete and matched the existing deck coating. I needed to have my pool refinished, my pool deck, pump and filter replaced. I checked around, talked to various companies and got estimates. I talked with Oliver Gonzalez the owner, he showed me photos of pools he had done and brought me to see a pool he refinished in the neighborhood. They leveled my pool, refibrglassed and resealed the surface. Replaced all the plumbing, the pump, filter, valves, skimmer and light assembly. I also had the deck replaced and stamped concrete done on the patio. The crew was here six days a week morning till evening working to complete the job. Oliver was consistent in coming by to make sure I had no concerns and any questions I had were answered. The job was completed and exceeded my expectations. A few months after completion of the pool I had a couple of small issues that popped up and needed to be addressed. Oliver had a crew come over and promptly repair the issues. This is probably the best company I have had the pleasure of working with while doing work on my home. The crew was cordial, they cleaned up every night before the left and did an excellent job. This company was exemplary in every way. They completely remanufactured our fiberglass pool. Drained, sanded, refiberglassed, repainted, new gelcoat, all new edging and tile and all new concrete pool decking. They estimated the job to take 10-14 days. They finished the project in five(5) days! The workmanship was superb and the pool looked fabulous! A year qnd a half later some of the wall tiles became loose. I called and they were there the NEXT DAY. Three (3) workers removed the loose tiles, as well as some of those surrounding the loose ones. They retiled three (3) complete areas and finished in less than a full day. All of this work was done UNDER WARRANTY without griping, complaining or trying to weasle out of the work. This pool was at the point where it needed to be removed or replaced with a new pool. It was no longer functional. The cost to install a new gunite pool started around $55,000 dollars which was more than I wanted to spend. I called Texas Fiberglass Pools and Gabriel came out and explained what they could do with the pool. He gave me a quote on the spot and we agreed on the price which was less than half the cost of putting in a new pool. They began work within a couple of weeks and worked on the pool steadily until it was complete. 2014 Nov. My pool is 30 years old and it is fiberglass. The pool was loosing water and the sides were bulging in. I contact Oliver Gonzalez after searching on the internet looking for someone to help. He came out reviewed the issues then started to work. My pool under went a make over took about 3 weeks. Over a year I under went some cleaning issues with another pool cleaning company. My pool was getting black spots and a grey film on the hull. Texas Fiberglass Pools transformed my 20 year old gunite pool/spa combo in serious need of re-plastering into a beautiful fiber-glass surface. They also re-did the tile top layer. Still looks like a gunite pool but really works better due to better resistance to algae growth and smoother surface. You can go barefoot all day in the pool with no issues.
