Their billing department repeatedly said that CD X-rays is not usually available in every clinic, so why didn't they inform us of this before doing this project? We could have called the insurance company immediately to inquire and decide whether to do this special CD X-ray after understanding it clearly. As an experienced and professional dental clinic, they should be transparent about the charges and inform us to contact insurance company in advance about the charges instead of inducing us to send the bills afterwards. This is so bad and took advantage of patient making ugly money. Because there is no rating lower than one star, I can only choose one star that they don't deserve.

I asked if it was a bad quality crown, because the metal was showing under the porcelain. He explained not entirely the case. He said that part of the reason for gum recession on a back molar was because I was clenching. The process of clenching creates a wobble motion on your tooth and makes gums recede. This is my analogy: think of a post in the ground. You push and pull it back and forth and the dirt recedes. My last dentist just said it was because the gums don't like the material and recede. Long story short, he recommended a mouth guard for almost a year now and the pockets of recession continue to improve. 4s became 3s. 3s became 2s. Sometimes my dentist can run behind, but if you need to get somewhere and you tell them, they will do everything they can to get you out on time. This was the case last year when I had to run for kindergarten lunch with my child at his school. Honestly I would rather he take the time to educate and make me a bit late than just treat me as business as usual or a check box. My previous dentist was time efficient but never offered the same level of care. The previous dentist at a different practice just wanted to do the cleaning and send me on my way. My overall dental health has greatly improved here. There is data to prove it. Highly recommend.

The first time I came to AO&MS, was for a consultation. I met with the dental assistances for x-rays and information regarding: insurance, medical history, medications, previous complications, etc. Dr. Macholl came in afterwards and talked to me about what he would be doing during the surgery, what I should and shouldn't do before the surgery side-effects after surgery, medications (pills to take before and after the procedure and IV sedation medications), and answered any questions I needed to ask. After meeting with Dr. Macholl, I was met by a woman who talked to me about the approximate total payment of the surgery and my next appointment time. Day of Surgery- (Before) Dr. Macholl and his staff were very welcoming and friendly. They were telling me the step-by-step process of what they were doing and explaining what everything was and what it was going to do. Dr. Macholl had four emergency medications on hand in case an allergic reaction had occurred from all the medications. Everyone made me feel very comfortable and safe. (After) Fast-forward after the procedure. I felt very sleepy. I awoke with ice packs wrapped around my head. Dr. Macholl's staff were very cautious and helpful of helping me to my car. They are not inclusive of the spouse and may zero accommodations for you to see or support your spouse. The communication is terrible and they did not even explain to my wife the medication she was supposed to use, which resulted in her almost taking blood thinners long after she was supposed to stop. She had complications with retaining water and they won't explore other options, but merely drain her three times a week. Texas is a large state with very qualified professionals, just go elsewhere, you will be thankful you did. This place was an awful experience and I would never recommend it.
