Best place for a colonoscopy! That bring said, this is my least favorite procedure and as a Crohn's Disease patient (diagnosed in spring 1999, and in long term remission since 2005) I must have this done every couple of years. When I do go to a medical center for this with my most fav doc, Dr Steve Lacey, both my hubby Mike and I get our colonoscopies done at Lone Star Endoscopy, ANY of the locations! We have been to them all. This time my colonoscopy was in Flower Mound, and this group did a spectacular job, particularly during the challenges of pandemic covid 2020. Every single staff member including my doc were protectively masked and gloved, social distance maintained even during check in with a one patient in waiting room requirement (and my sweet hubby stayed outside in his car patiently waiting for me since he could not come in also. All materials I touched and they touched were immediately Sanitized following use). Per requirements, I was also masked and sanitized to the nth level, bringing and using my colorox wipes if anything was touched and then cleaned again by the staff to ensure following proper procedures. Esmeralda and Nicole got me inside, checked in and set up easily and calmly. Dawn and Christel (fabulous phlebotomists worth their weight in GOLD, particular since I am needle phobic and normally struggle through the process) got me prepped in just a few minutes for the procedure and Deanne my anesthesiologist sent me off to a short dreamland which my favorite, Doc Steve handling the colonoscopy quickly and efficiently. After a brief rest, Nurse's Dawn and Christel woke me with a cold, refreshing sprite, assisted me in prepping to head out, and Dawn patiently walked me out, masked and gloved per requirements, while assisting me gently into the car with my sweet hubby and off we went homeward. While it's true this is a much more challenging time in our history than ever, with covid concerns and health worries at an all time high, THIS IS the group you are looking for - techs, nurses and docs of the highest quality and care who truly find their purpose in caring for others and ensuring optimum health for all. Ok, at the risk of becoming the butt of of endless jokes, I admit I am as surprised as anyone to be Yelping an endoscopic clinic. I typically Yelp when I am caught by surprise with goods or services that are either exceptional or disappointing. This usually includes restaurant food or waitstaff. I am a good eater. This being said, I feel compelled to share with the public the single best example of customer service I have ever experienced, regardless of the services provided. Lone Star Endoscopy has obviously committed their entire practice to the safety, comfort, and dignity of their patients. Every employee I encountered, from the receptionist making the appointment, to the nurses, technicians and physicians was genuinely concerned that I was informed and comfortable. I came to the office at 8am for a 9am procedure, and, from the moment I walked in was treated with care, compassion, competence and efficiency. These people know what they are doing and how to do it. They work as a team. By the time I was done, I decided that, even though I had to pay $1000+ for their services, these people earned it. I have been a patient of Dr Mehta for over 10 years. Having a family history of colon cancer it has been necessary to have regular colonoscopies. I normally have have them local hospitals or the surgical center. My experience with Lone Star Endoscopy was by far the most pleasant of any I have had. The staff is terrific. At check in they are using the latest technology which is great. They have two self check in kiosks that allows the patient to scan their own id's and answer all the appropriate questions on the screen. That really made it very efficient and I only waited five minutes for the nurse to call me back. Nurse Kathy was great getting me prepped and ready (love the warm gown) and she had a great bedside manner. Overall the nurses were fantastic. Dr. Mehta was highly recommended to me and he is a doctor the nurses use for their needs so that says a lot.
