If you don't use Texas Organic Lawn Care, you should. Absolutely, unreservedly, you should! I cannot say enough GOOD STUFF about this company. We have used them for 15+ years and at both the homes we have lived at in Arlington. One had a very small yard; the current one has large, odd-shaped front/back yards with lots of mowing and a crazy amount of curbs that require edging.
We have TOLC do our mowing/edging, seasonally amend the soil, and do their bagless leaf clean up several times each season. As needed, they also fix our sprinkler system with licensed sprinkler repair personnel.
First, let me tell you about how they saved us thousands when we moved into our current house, which had been empty for a year. The yard was a weedy wasteland, or it was just bare dirt. A precious few stragglers of St. Augustine remained. TOLC checked out our sprinkler system, repairing it as needed, then amended and put in rye grass for a fast lawn to keep erosion at bay and to give the good grass time to recuperate. Neighbors were literally stopping us to tell us how incredible the change was in this forlorn piece of property! After amending the soil and getting a good watering schedule going, the St. Augustine began to come back healthfully -- and we didn't have to re-sod the lawn at all. We saved thousands, without a doubt.
Second, while they do mow/mulch the leaves during the early part of the fall, there is a point where the leaf quantity is just too much for your lawn, and that's where TOLC's bagless leaf clean-up is perfect. Their huge vacuum truck sucks up the leaves and carts them off for composting, rather than bagging them and letting them sit in a landfill forever. Our yard would probably have 50+ bags of leaves every month if we bagged it all -- but with bagless, it's cleaned up and our yard (and our curb) is free and clear of clutter. And I'm sure the landfill is breathing a sigh of relief! Yesterday, the team came to vacuum our leaves. They worked several hours (our yard is huge and we have 50+ oak trees) in the coldest spell we've had this season -- and even though it got dark, they continued to work until the job was done. I even told them they didn't have to finish right then due to the darkness and the cold, but they were so polite and assured me with a smile, "We're fine; this is just part of the job and we're going to stay until it's done."
Every encounter I've ever had with a TOLC employee has been just that -- polite and helpful and evidence of an exceptional work ethic for the company as a whole. read more
