On a recommendation, I visited Dr. Dehart in 2014 about a hip problem. After x-raying both hips, he told me my right hip was a prime candidate for total hip replacement. It wasn't a matter of if, but when. I put it off for about 10 months and could no longer handle the pain. I live about 200 miles from Austin but my daughter lives in Leander and where ever I had my surgery she would avail herself to help my wife care for me. I thought since I am having it done and will be incapacitated for some time, it would be more convenient for her for me to have it done in Austin. Dr. DeHart was recommended to me, as was Texas Orthopedics. I did my pre-op there and attended two instructional classes that were very helpful. On August 10, 2015, Dr. DeHart did the surgery. I was in the hospital five days and then to my daughter's home for recovery and Physical Therapy. My therapist came every morning for two weeks and my wife assisted with it in the evening. I walked, walked, walked to strengthen my leg. On August 30th, I made the 200 mile trip back home to Jacksonville, Texas with no ill effects. I was still using my walker and on September 4th started doing short walks with a cane. My rehab has gone very well and I see walking without any aid in the very near future. I do my re-hab exercises twice daily. After leaving the hospital, I only took 4 pain pills; I took one each evening to comfort me so I could sleep. After four days I haven't take any more. I saw Dr. DeHart on August 21st for my post-op check-up. He said I was healing beautifully and everything looked great. I agree. I think I have done excellent for a 77 year old man. Dr. DeHart's bedside manner was very pleasant and courteous; yet, very firm and decisive in his instructions for my recovery process. I'm sure I will have to have my left hip replaced and there's no question whom I will have do it.....Dr. Marc DeHart. Texas Orthopedics is a top class orthopedics practice. The doctors and surgeons here are highly qualified, top trained, and up to date on technologies and procedures. There are several locations throughout the Austin area but my experience is almost contained to the Quarry Lake/Seton NW facility, which also houses their own surgery center. I appreciate and value the convenience of having access to the doctors, diagnostic equipment, and surgery center in one building. My surgeon, Dr Scott Smith is a top orthopedic surgeon, who attempts to explore other options before resorting to surgery, which I not only respect and appreciate but I believe it's very responsible on his part. This is a large practice but there are teams of individuals working together tirelessly to make sure your time is valued. The office, exam rooms, and surgery center are managed very efficiently, so I have experienced very little "wait" time. The check-in procedures utilize the web, and can be done ahead of time to better accommodate your personal time. Texas Orthopedics also utilizes a patient portal system, which provides a convenient channel of communication to your doctor (or billing, appointments, labs, etc) and the response time is quick. I drive about 150 miles each way because I feel like I get the best level of care for the wear and tear I put on my body. To me, it's worth the drive (and time) because I know I'm getting the highest level of orthopedic care available. read more

We took my son to see Dr. Loeb about a month ago because he broke his medial epicondyle (bone in his elbow) while pitching in a baseball game and he had to have it surgically repaired. We were referred to Dr. Loeb by my son's baseball coach. This was his first injury so we really weren't sure what to expect. Dr. Loeb has a very quiet, calm and informative demeanor. This is nice for parents that are about to have a child in surgery. He's very "matter of fact" about things, which is helpful when dealing with a youth sports injury. We felt like our kid was in good hands. I also want to mention the staff at the surgery center and his two offices. They were all very nice and helpful. Before surgery my son peppered the pre-op nurse with question after question and she answered all of them and helped him feel comfortable. The staff there also kept us informed about everything that was going on during the procedure. The recovery nurse was very attentive and informative. We left feeling good about his recovery. Follow up appointments were easy to make and the medical staff at the Cedar Park office were awesome when it came to taking off or putting on the casts post surgery. They let us take pictures of x-rays with our phones and answered all of our questions. They were all very friendly and helpful. I was referred to Texas Orthopedics / Dr. Schultz by my Dr. In San Antonio. I had moderate advancing arthritis in my right hip that has hindered my mobility for years. I was able to get in to see Dr. Schultz within a week of the first phone call. I can tell you from first meeting that I knew I had the right guy for the job. Very professional, great bedside manner, answered all my questions, and put me at ease for the inevitable upcoming procedure. After consulting with Dr. Schultz, I spent hours / days on the internet researching benefits, outcomes, complications, techniques, longevity, appliances, reactions ...... I took two full pages of questions on my second office visit. Dr. Schultz sat down and answered all of them. From the first visit to Total hip replacement was 3 months. I am now 4 weeks post-op and I can tell you that I should have had this done much sooner. I was on a walker 1 hr post surgery, used it for 2 days, went to a cane for two days, and have been walking ever since. The limp from guarding the new joint is almost gone and it really feels great. Dr. Schultz was able to get the leg lengths within 1.3 mm of each other which is better than they were at birth. Thank you Dr. Schultz for giving my mobility back! read more

Dr Peter Garcia and Texas Orthopedic's has provided excellent full spectrum care for me over the last 15 years. My first encounter with TO and Dr Garcia was approximately 15 years ago when I tore my ACL. Dr Garcia has provided top notch surgical care and has performed 4 knee surgery procedures on me including two knee replacements. Dr Garcia used great judgment to remedy my ailments and employed physical therapy and outpatient procedures before recommending surgery. His surgical skills are phenomenal. I truly believe he is a great surgeon as I am a testament to his abilities. Also he is a humble man with a kind professional demeanor. His surgical assistant Vicki was also very congenial and helpful. Texas Orthopedic's is a full service organization that has provided excellent support before, during and after my surgical procedures. TO kept me informed of what to expect prior to surgery and has provided rehabilitation and pain management services after my surgical procedures. There has been no "surprises" about the outcomes of any procedures that I've had. I highly recommend TO and Dr Garcia. If I have any more orthopedic problems in the future, I feel confident that TO will be able to provide for my needs. read more

I cannot say enough about Texas Orthopedics. I have been to 3 of the locations and the staff at each one are very kind, helpful and accommodating. For example, just this morning I had two appointments at the Seton Center location and my husband had one at the Round Rock location. We were in an accident on our way to dropping me off at my two appointments. Both clinics bent over backwards to adjust the schedule to work us in. We live 3 hours away so we needed to get the appointments done today. Once I got to the clinic they immediately asked how I was and showed sincere concern over the situation. The doctors, themselves, were also accommodating and concerned. I was seeing Dr. Koval and Dr. Goldberg and my husband saw Dr. Stewart. We have seen these doctors several times and they are always helpful, listening to the ailments, and assessing the treatment with great knowledge and skill. Being a rheumatoid arthritis patient I have also seen Dr. Bunch and Dr. Smoot who are also fantastic doctors. I have NEVER been disappointed with Texas Orthopedics. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the experience I had at this office. I went in with a minor issue on my foot, which turned out to be nothing more than a slightly painful callous. The doctor asked if I wanted it filed off, and at no point was I informed that this would be billed as a "procedure." Imagine my shock when I received a bill for over $250 for something as basic as filing off a callous -- essentially the same thing that could be done at a nail salon for a fraction of the cost. What's even worse is the complete lack of communication. I called several times and left multiple messages trying to resolve this, only to finally speak with someone who had no authority to help. They promised to escalate it to the manager, but the manager never bothered to call me back. This feels like a case of hidden charges and poor customer service. My advice to anyone considering this office: make sure you ask about costs upfront and clarify everything before agreeing to anything. This experience has left me feeling taken advantage of and frustrated. read more

Known of Dr Onan for well over 14 years now. My wife needed an Orthopedic Dr as she needed surgery on L4/5 S1 herniated disc. She looked up Dr Onan and read his reviews that told her he would be a good Dr for her surgery. 14 years later she has been better than ever and would have never know she has had back surgery. Knowing of Dr Onan and how my wife has recovered from her surgery, without a doubt of course I knew he would be the Dr to do my surgery this past month. Once I knew what my options were for my back of course everyone would have there option for surgery as last resort. So I had two injection shots for pain management which helped some to relieve the pain but seemed to come back after a couple weeks that's when I knew it was time for surgery on my L4/5 S1 as well. These guys/girls are well trained and can tell you have some of the best trained professionals from appointment scheduling, nurses, surgeons and Dr's. I came to Tx Ortho and Dr Brannon Smoot with a loose left ankle needing a routine subtalor fusion and a calcaneal osteotomy; I left with a fail fusion, severed FHL tendon, crippled for life, have not run since two days before the messed up surgery, financial ruined and had to sell my house. What's worse is Tx Ortho could care less in fact they went out of their way to make my life worse by lying about the screw up! I've had three subsequent surgeries, spent 5 days in the hospital with three bacteria infections in my ankle, almost lost my foot and could have lost my life yet Tx Ortho and Dr Smoot doesn't care at all. I'm left with the only option of needing to have a ankle joint replacement. This has ruined my life and I'll never financially recover. Save yourself the agony and chance of financial ruin by going to better doctors with a practice that cares about their patients! Outstanding experience diagnosing my chronic knee pain and eventually performing a total knee replacement surgery by Dr. Bradley Adams. The Office staff and performance is on a professional level I have never experienced anywhere else. Appointment ABSOLUTELY RIGHT-ON-TIME. Friendly welcomes, accurate scheduling and attentive care - from the X-Ray technicians to the Clerical Staff. Dr. Adams did an AMAZING job on my right knee replacement - discharged in 2 days from Seton Northwest Hospital\; walking without assistance in 2 weeks; and an incision healing so perfectly that I may have virtually no visable scar. The doctor and support staff were very informative, answering all my profound questions and calming my normal fears. I cannot recommend this Doctor, Professional Practice, and Hospital HIGHLY enough. I had back surgery in 2010 and done well for a couple of years. After I became pregnant in 2015 it went downhill fast after the birth of our first son. I was referred to Dr Onan from my PCP and he was very thorough and upfront from the beginning about the damage I had in my back and recommended surgery, anterior to posterior spinal fusion at L5-S1. His staff was phenomenal with all of my questions and walking me through the pre-op portion. After my surgery, I have never felt better. Dr Onan took incredible care of me and the staff at Northwest Hills Surgical Hospital was great. Dr Onan was very detailed in what to expect after my surgery, recovery wise, and made sure I went home with everything I needed to make me as comfortable as possible. Anything I needed or questions I had after surgery was answered or addressed same day. I am so grateful for everything he has done for me. Texas Orthopedics has a complete "suite" of solutions including imaging, physical therapy, a broad range of doctors with complementing specialties to attempt to solve complex problems. In my case, a ruptured disc resulted in surgery with Dr. James Smith. I cannot say enough good things regarding Dr. Smith. He took a conservative approach to my problem and I like that, even though it might have taken longer to get to the final solution of surgery. I am less than 2 weeks into recovery, but feel great, lost all sciatic pain, and I am comfortable with my recovery regimen. Dr. Smith's detailed explanations were very helpful in my own visualization of the problems, and proposed solution. His bedside manner during and after surgery has been so appreciated, especially with such a big "life event" as surgery can be. And Texas Orthopedics has been a great "one stop shop" for all services with one point of contact for insurance issues, etc. read more

I should have written this review months ago but I guess I've been busy enjoying my new hip. I had severe arthritis in my left hip and pushed it aside for years. It finally started really affecting my life for almost 2 years and I knew it was time to do something. Total Hip Replacement was a little frightening. I did my research and ended up in the care of Dr. W. Randall Schultz and his associate, Joy. I was familiar with the office as I had used Dr. Bergin years ago for a rotator cuff repair (another successful surgery). My husband and I knew right away that Dr. Schultz was the way to go. I went in on a Monday morning and home Tuesday afternoon. I recuperated so well. I can't say enough about Dr. Schultz and Joy. They made me whole again and that means a lot. If you are in need of a hip replacement, go and talk with Dr. Schultz. He explains everything and listens to you! Thanks Dr. Schults and Joy! You all are awesome! read more

I had been in pain for over a year and Dr. Bergin completely fixed me. She is funny and personable and I swear to God must have a magic wand stashed in her scrubs somewhere because I felt zero post-op pain after my procedure was done. Was not expecting that at all. You can tell she loves what she does, and I love her for it too since now I can walk like a normal person again. So awesome. Her support staff is great as well. The PA who did my intake (petite, long blond hair - sorry! Forgot your name) was very warm and welcoming despite their busy schedule. Chad is very meticulous and has a good bedside manner. I was scared going into surgery but my nurses Maxine and Lynda were both very kind and put me at ease. After I woke up Francesca did a great job taking care of me until I could go home. I really appreciate how well I was treated and can't thank Dr. Bergin enough for getting me back to normal. I'd recommend her to anyone. read more

I went to Texas Orthopedic for ACL avulsion fracture, MCL tear, Lateral meniscus with possible tear near the meniscofemoral and fracture tibia :( I was greatly impressed with my entire experience, and with Dr. Rodriguez in particular. The office staff, nurses and x-ray technicians were efficient and I was not kept waiting to be seen. But most important, I was extremely impressed with Dr. Rodriguez . He was wonderful to talk to, diagnosed my injury explain it in detailed laymen's terms, had suggestions on how to get ready for surgery and didn't at all rush through the visit. After feeling like I would never run again Dr. Rodriguez said I've seen worse and you will run again :) I've got a CT scan tomorrow with follow up with Dr. Rodriguez to get surgery scheduled, I'm ready! I highly recommend Dr. Rodriguez to anyone needing an orthopedic doctor. read more

I have had nothing but competent and compassionate care at TX Ortho. I have been a patient of Dr. Bergin for several years. She has performed knee surgery and the results are excellent ,as is her care. Her PA, Chad, is always helpful and compassionate and positive. Dr. Smoot also performed foot surgery on me and the results are excellent. I have also been treated at times by Dr. Foster and Dr. Mukai and physical therapist, Meredith, and they have all been most helpful and kind and competent. I have family members who have been treated by physicians at TX Ortho and they, and I, are very pleased with their care. The people at the front desk and the other office staff have also been kind and helpful. I just wish they didn't have to use those electronic records but I know that is just the way it has to be. read more

Having used up my knees due to aging and running, including one marathon, Texas Orthopedic came to my rescue. Dr Goldberg recommended surgery on my right knee, to be followed with the same surgery on my left knee. Recovery is usually difficult but to be expected. I only know of one person who did not have a happy experience with Dr Goldberg and she did not follow his instructions nor follow-up Physical therapy. Thank you Dr Goldberg. I have a bad lower back and cannot brag enough on Dr Bunch and his Nurse Practitioner/PA, Angel for their continuing care. Rather than having me jump right into surgery they have had me do physical therapy and about every 3-4 months have injections in both sides of my lumbar area. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Dr. Joel Hurt has helped myself and my family for several years. He helped me understand my options concerning knee replacement and never pushed me into it. When I was ready he suggested I do a course of physical therapy prior to the surgery. He wanted the best out come for me. My first knee replacement was done in March of 2017 and the second was done in October of 2017. His attention to every detail was amazing. He even measured the length of my scar to make sure they matched! Dr Hurt was kind and compassionate. He explained the procedure with confidence and clarity. His staff was very supportive.
