I was looking for the surgeon that took care of my leg in 1993 and came accross that site on yelp having the surprise to see MY PICTURE on first page. First I tought that was cookies on my PC? Anyway I will never say thank you enought to DR. Lutz that was on call that day! I was very luky. I was told at Brackenridge that it was the best Spin surgeon at the time. My leg was in 5 pieces crushed by a backoe. I took 6 operations, bone regenerator etc. I work today without leaping. Exept when I walk for a long distance or tired. That is due to the crushed muscle. Nothing he could do. Dispite the scare that is the link of the tibia, it's bearly visible today. Thank again for a good job and care. If he work there. I recommand him. Sorry for my grammaire. When I wrote my previous review, I had been through four months of severe pain and then had just gotten a surprise bill from Texas Orthopedics that I wasn't supposed to get. I was very angry. I said that Dr. Bunch doesn't care, and I apologize. He called me himself regarding the review, and we talked about it, so I believe he clearly does care about his patients. So here, in a better state of mind, is my real review. Dr. Bunch was very nice throughout the visit and phone call. I felt that I had been "talked into" a cortisone shot by my friends and numerous other doctors, and I was not completely comfortable with doing it. A heads up beforehand from him about the severe dizziness sometimes caused by the shot would have been helpful. Other tips for Dr. Bunch and his office staff for future patients based on my visit and subsequent phone conversation with him. 1. Please do not negate your patient's pain and what they believe has caused it. When I get a cortisone shot, and immediately have severe pain afterwards that lasts for 4 months, please do not tell me that the cortisone shot did not cause that pain. Doctors have a lot of knowledge, but you do not know how every person's body is going to react to something. A response of, "That's unusual, I'm sorry to hear that...let's talk about how to fix that" would have been much more helpful. 2. Please do not use the fact that no other doctors have pinpointed why my pain is so severe as a reason for me to return to have a follow up. 3. Please (for your staff) do not tell your patients that they are not responsible for any other bills, and then send an unexpected $85 bill in the mail. An explanation would have been helpful. You asked on the phone why I didn't come back for a follow-up. As is true with every patient, I have a lot of history with my back injury of seven years. I also tend to know after about 5 minutes with a doctor whether we'll be a good match or not. When I have a very nice doctor who's not very effective, about half the time I think, "I should give them another chance..." Here's what has happened when I don't follow my initial instincts, and a little insight on what my life was like before the cortisone shot: Thousands of dollars of unwanted or unexpected cost for no results, time wasted on appointments, hours wasted on calling offices, insurance companies to dispute bills that were not our responsibility, "you have three mildly herniated disks, but we have no idea why you are in this much pain, have a good day," "there's nothing wrong with your back, maybe you have lupus," and various other ridiculousness. But I could function okay. And after the cortisone shot: Having to use a motorized cart at HEB and getting dirty looks because I don't "look" disabled, turning down social events with friends and family because I can't walk more than five minutes, feeling like a lousy mother to my toddler because I can't chase/swing/run/play with him, not being able to work out or do anything cardio for 3 months and gaining weight, not being able to work, just being tired of being in pain ALL THE TIME. I'm not trying to complain, but just share a little insight. In response to "why didn't you call to make a follow-up visit?" After all that, would you? So, because I generally believe that reviews should be helpful and productive, a suggestion for Dr. Bunch and his staff. REACH OUT. I know there wasn't a thing you could do about my body's reaction to the shot. But a little caring outside of the rushed 15-minute appointment, after all the incompetence and disinterest I've experienced over dozens of doctors, goes a long way. After you interact with a patient, if you haven't heard from them in a couple weeks, a quick phone call or email from your staff would mean a lot. Just a quick "How'd that steroid shot work out for you?" is enough. Believe me, with people who have chronic pain and medical problems, that stands out. It is possible that that kind of care could have led to a follow-up. Even if the results are not what I desire, just having someone else that cares about my pain, on an individual level, helps. read more

The luckiest thing about breaking my humerus was landing in the care of Dr. John Paul Rodriguez and his tech, Jennifer. I am a person who tries to stay as far away from doctors as I can, but my experience at Texas Ortho has been stellar across the board, making an awful situation actually feel enjoyable, much to my shock. Dr. Rodriguez is #1 Best Quality! There is not one single thing he could have done better than he did, and he was proactive every step of the way. I trust him explicitly, and this is something I never say about a doctor! His tech, Jennifer, knows her stuff and gets it handled effectively and with a smile. Every single one of the X-ray techs are fabulous too, going above and beyond to avoid hurting me while taking their pictures and offering sincere warmth and sympathy in the process. The business office is on top of things, and the telephone care support is top notch. I have never had such a great medical experience as I've had at this practice, and can't recommend it, and Dr. Rodriguez, enough. I hope I never ever break another bone, but if I do, I won't stress out as much because I'll know that great care is just a phone call away. read more

First, let me say that Dr. James Smith is AWESOME. My issues are with the office staff and office manager. This office is SO incredibly unprofessional! I was in an auto accident and spent over a week going back-and-forth with the staff over the insurance details, ER details, and answering their questions, just to make a consultation appointment! I show up today for the appointment and they inform me (for the first time) that I must self-pay! They had none of the details that I provided previously and LIED to me about speaking with the doctor and other staff and insisted that they told me. I have every email that was exchanged and it was NEVER mentioned to me. I spent 45 minutes arguing with them and they finally back to see the doctor. I have seen three other doctors in this practice for various other injuries and always have an unpleasant experience with their staff. BEWARE! read more

Was ordered an MRI for a stress fracture that my general physician's assistant immediately saw in an X-Ray. Ordering the MRI was just a ploy to require another visit and to get more $$ for the radiology department. I declined to get the MRI and came in for a boot fitting. Was charged for $30 and figured that was a decent deal considering they cost $75-$100 online or in stores. Got a bill later on saying that my insurance only paid $90, and since the boot costs $250 that I owe the balance. Their initial response is that they won't even allow me to replace the boot with a new one to avoid the extra charge, even though they led me to believe that was all I would owe. I wish I had read these reviews ahead of time and declined to by the boot from them. My PCP referred me to them, so I had too trusting of an attitude, and they took full advantage. Also, be prepared to listen to endless phone menus to get in touch with an actual person. Even the office location numbers go straight to their automated system. I'm still in pain and pretty much feel like I have to start over. Being referred here even makes me distrust my PCP. read more

Cumbersome new-patient process drained a month of my time and left me in a care vacuum. I transferred my patient records for a doctor to review, assuming I was in-process to be added as a patient. I had to follow up after week without communication, only to have them tell me to return to my former practice. UPDATE: Their patient advocate reached out (Stephanie) to address my negative review, provide more information, and offer help. While it doesn't solve my issue, I appreciated her professionalism and the context she offered for why this happened. read more

The arthritis in my knee is at the stage where a cortisone shot every 5 months or so will do the trick. I have been to other doctors who just don't have the ability to deliver the medication to the right place on my knee. No relief and have to wait four months before getting another shot. Dr. Joel Hurt is pleasant and efficient and never misses. I can always trust that my knee will feel better before I even get back to the car. Highly recommended! read more

Dr. Hill looked at my son's leg injury from a sports-related injury. An X-ray had been taken the night of the accident at Seton NW in Austin. Dr. Hill ordered an MRI and prescribed a brace for the knee. My son has been in bed over a week since the accident as he can bear no weight on the injured leg. We have been anxious to get the results of the MRI! Two days after the MRI, a medical assistant called me with the following information: wear a brace and remain non-weight bearing only. Follow up with the doctor in two to thee weeks. UM OKAYYY... what about the "tibia fracture" I see summarized on the MRI report with a lot of medical jargon I don't understand?! Who can go over the MRI results with me? Reply, "This is all I can tell you." This lady had zero compassion. She finally suggested I schedule an appointment with Dr.Hill for a "consult" to discuss the MRI results and I would have to bring my son with me - he's in a lot of pain, obviously, and the trip would be a nightmare for him. Doctors are supposed to call you or at least send an email with his diagnosis post MRI, right?!?! They're making money by requiring a visit for this. Meanwhile, we are totally in the dark about the severity of the injury. I looked up some of the definitions for the medical jargon and found out that the type of fracture he has means the bone is crushed or segmented in to at least three pieces! This is my child!!! I had to hound Texas Orthopedics to call me back with the MRI results, they guaranteed a phone call the next day, never got it, finally a call two days out only to get nothing related to the MRI. The other reviewers are correct - Texas Orthopedics overbooks! If Dr.Hill doesn't have time to diagnose patients per MRI results and communicate those findings with the patient, what's the point? Is he too busy or lacks compassion or both? All of the above, is what I believe. Texas Orthopedics left us high and dry. Very disappointing. Stay away from this nightmarish hell hole. read more

Referred here from ER. Met with my surgeon and he was friendly, and took his time explaining things to me. That was the last good experience I had with TX Orthopedics. The scheduling nurse was terribly rude, and did not listen to our scheduling limitations. She caused us hours long panic while we tried to fix her schedule mistake, as my surgery was the following day. Day of the surgery I saw my surgeon long enough for him to write his name on my body. Haven't seen him since! He did not visit after surgery to tell us what happened and how it went. We did not have anyone tell us after surgery what was done and how it went. The next day I called the office to get some information and that same terrible scheduling nurse was once again rude and told me they have no idea what was done or how it went, that if I want to know that I need to order my op report. Pretty ridiculous that the SURGEONS OFFICE could not tell me what my SURGEON did to me. I did not see my surgeon at my follow up appointment weeks later either. To top it all off- this office messed up the forms I needed to get paid for my time away from work. Forms I had to pay to get, and now have to pay to get again and hope they fixed their errors. PLEASE stay away. Just a terrible experience all around! read more

Too bad I can't give a separate review of the admin/scheduling and the doctor. Scheduling. Experience was a zero. When they initially took my info they got all of my details incorrect. After the first lady transferred me, the second lady had to update / correct all of my details. For the appointment, they called in the morning and asked me to come an hour earlier, so I did. Dr. Onan asked me to come back in 3-4 weeks. He prescribed an injection for my back, but the Dr who does injections couldn't see me for three weeks (kind of defeats the purpose of seeing Dr. Onan in 3-4 weeks) - and that was for a consult, the actual injection would come later. Seriously? Since I'm in constant pain I asked if there was anything we could do. The scheduler was just truly awful, infuriating and condescending. Wouldn't even look / consider expediting or looking at other options, heaven forbid a patient interrupt her web surfing. Dr. Onan was great though. Very personable an knowledgeable. It's too bad his staff and the admin there provides such a terrible experience. I had an appointment this morning with another ortho and they are working with me now. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Foster at Texas Orthopedics. I've seen him for a few different things over the years but today's visit is a prime example of why he and the staff get 5 stars from me: My appointment was at 1:00. I checked in at 12:55 and was called in right on time. By 1:05 I had seen the nurse and was taken in for x-ray rays. By 1:10 I was seeing Dr. Foster who had already seen my x-rays. For the next 10 minutes he explained what my issue was, and that surgery could be an option, but that it really wasn't necessary unless my pain was too great. (I thought I had a broken bone in my hand but it wound up being a ganglion cyst.) I had paid and was out the door by 1:25. I appreciate that Dr. Foster never pushes surgery, even though he's a surgeon. More than that, however, I appreciate his thorough knowledge and expertise combined with his "bedside manners" that is personable, respectful and professional. It's very nice when you can both trust your doctor and enjoy his company at the same time! My experiences with the staff have also been good. I've read other reviews here where that wasn't the case, but I've been nothing but pleased. I very much appreciate a team that respects people's time by getting them in and out in an effective and efficient manner. read more

I had emergency surgery and was told to follow up here. From the very beginning it was the worst experience ever. I couldn't imagine how bad a medical office could be, after all they are dealing with people who truly need help in some cases life threatening and completely life changing in others. I will leave names out as I liked my surgeon and was very grateful for his help when I had to go into the ER for emergency surgery on my wrist and clavicle. Turned out they had to redo one of the surgeries and attempted to make me the scape goat by saying I was non compliant which was absolute bs. I write this now as I still can't get anyone from this place to follow up and now the billing department won't refund the money I gave them for a surgery they insisted I pay for upfront that never happened. DISGUSTING PLACE!! I never write bad reviews but my health - your health is too important and this place, outside of a few doctors perhaps, just simply do not care. Save yourself and go any where else, any where would be better than this place. How they are in business still is beyond me. Negative stars if I could, I'm never stepping foot in that building again as I care about my health and rehab too much. I'm attempting to help someone else that could be in a similar situation understand this place is not the answer. Don't walk away, RUN. Continued from previous review while I was seen for the 5th time with still no diagnosis mind you that specialist was over an hour late to the appointment was in my room for less then one minute seemed so rushed he didn't even look me in the eye not introduce himself to me he contradicts the report I have in my hands from the previous day saying completely opposite things from the MRI reports I got from them. He said nothing he could Do for this injury and walks out I not out over 1200 bucks in fees and still no real care plan doctors diagnosis and I have a 40 dollar boot they charged 275 bucks for. I'm done with this group after being passed around like candy all I was was a check to them. At least four people went up to the front desk to complain about waiting about an hour after their appointment time. Such a pleasure walking into a clinic that everyone was simply so nice .. I came in with pain on both knees knowing I have a major issue and had fear of the news the doctor will break once he will see the XRay.. his staff was so nice, they embraced me and gave me as much comfort as possible one can get before and after seeing Dr. Goldberg. I loved the way he approached without trying to make it sound good but was very straight forward saying I need to replace both knees, but not before I will go through Physical Therapy... making sure I understand that it's not just a knee replacement it's the mobility that I have to restore before I do anything. I felt very comfortable with the way he's approached me and described the issues I'm dealing with, encouraged me to do what's necessary to get back to some normal life free of pain and gain back the life I can get before and after the surgery. I sincerely hope to God that I will feel the same after the surgery and know that my life is back to norm! Thank you for being there with passion and compassion!! read more

As said below, great, knowledgeable compassionate doctors, still taking fantastic care of all people. In addition to seeing Dr. Bergin & Chad for close to 15 yrs ( & prayerfully counting), I have also "had the pleasure" to see Dr. Robert Foster. He has performed two elbow implants where a broken elbow would not heal. This left my lower arm two inches shorter. The surgery was quite successful, & I have regained full use of my elbow. Dr. Foster is thorough & an amazingly kind & extraordinary surgeon & man. With your orthopedic needs, a person, despite the injury, cannot go wrong with Texas Orthopedics. SCORE! Katie jumps up and down x 1,000,000 I saw Dr. Bergman this morning for chronic pain in my shoulder and a reactive nerve. I was freaked out because a) I don't have health insurance and b) I am too young to die. I was impressed with the check in staff at Texas Orthopedics. They were compassionate and didn't make a big stink about the cost of the visit or lack of health care coverage. This is a big plus in my book because those of us who are full time students often get treated like second class citizens. They explained the $150.00 visit cost and that I would be responsible for any additional charges. I saw Melissa for my blood pressure and then Chad the P.A. for a rundown on my symptoms. As someone who is trained to ask all the right questions without a bias I can tell you, he rocked! He also knew I didn't have insurance and intercepted me before they took x-rays (which weren't needed). He gave me some possible conclusions and went to find Dr. Bergen. Dr. Bergen has FANTASTIC bedside manner. I mean really, really great bedside manner. I never felt rushed, I felt important and she answered all of my questions with mortal speak. Turns out I'm not dying and we went over affordable treatment options until I can afford surgery to fix it. She gave me some terrific stretches, encouraged me to seek alternative medicine which I was afraid of seeking since it flared up. I left with a comprehensive plan of attack, a backup plan, a clear diagnoses and a huge sigh of relief. I would highly recommend Dr. Bergen, especially if you are a woman. She gets the whole "mind and body" balance and understands how we ladies think. I'm extremely pleased with her and the entire staff at Texas Orthopedics. read more

DO NOT RISK YOUR HEALTH BY COMING TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! So, it turns out my shoulder is actually BROKEN. So, on top of my awful experience, and the fact that my rotator cuff is not in fact injured, which was what Dr.Loeb assumed my injury was, but I was ALSO administered a shot of cortisone to my shoulder which can SLOW the healing of broken bones...was he was too busy to really take a look at the several x-Rays he took of it in the office? If not and he really couldn't tell that my shoulder was broken why would he then administer a medicine for what he THOUGHT was wrong? I have been looking for a top rated Orthopedic that can address my hip and knee issues. I've been to several well known sports medicine doctors over the past 10 years and have had several orthoscopic operations a well as bone marrow and blood platelet injections and a lot of PT. Each operation and injection seemed to help for a short time, but now I'm limited to short walks and am not skiing anymore. I decided to try again and find a good Orthopedic. After reading some really great reviews for Texas Orthopedics, I called and spoke to Viviana. She was so nice and spent time with me on the phone discussing my needs and the doctors on staff. While she didn't outright suggest a specific doctor, she helped me decide who I thought would be a good fit by just telling me a little about each one. If the rest of my experience at TX Orthopedics is anything like my initial experience, I've come to the right place. I hope they realize what a special person they have in Viviana. I felt lost on the next steps for the treatment or what should I take, I had to ask the questions myself because I was getting very few guidance. Superb in every way. Anytime I need I need orthopedic care, I will come to them. I will never hesitate to go here, NOR will I hesitate to refer a friend here. I have seen 3 different doctors here, worked with various PAs and other technicians.... and really... this place is top notch! Dr. Goldberg did a knee surgery for me in 2014, and was excellent. After many different visits I confidently say, whether you get Dr. Goldberg himself, OR his PA-C Jared, you're in good hands. They were both professional, personable and fixed the problem/got rid of the pain. LOVED them. I did the surgery in their surgery center downstairs, and everyone there was just as amazing. Then, I herniated my disc this year and after getting the run around from my PCP and other docs, I credit Texas Orthopedics with stopping the pain that put me in tears for the better of 6 months. Dr. Bunch saw me on a Monday morning, got me in for an MRI right after my appointment, confirmed the herniated disc AND did a steroid epidural THE SAME DAY. The pain, which had been constant and debilitating, resulting in 2 ER visits the Saturday and Sunday before seeing Dr. Bunch, was gone. If it was appropriate to kiss your doctor, I would have. It's not though, so I digress. After eliminating the pain, he said that I needed to talk to the surgeon. So he referred me to Dr. Lutz. What can I say about Dr. Lutz?! He knows what's he's talking about. He is very conservative. In fact, someone told he was known for being conservative and won't just cut willy nilly. He looked at the MRI and said that I definitely had a larger herniation and that I could wait it out, to see if my body would heal itself, or I could operate. I had already lost motion in my my foot from the impinged nerve, so I went ahead with the surgery. Scheduling was easy.... And the back surgery (which resulted in a larger herniation than even he expected) was a breeze. I was walking that night and walked myself out of the hospital the next day. Since then, the follow ups on my car have been excellent and he has really been a great guy to work with and someone I can definitely trust. (Quite note: the nurses at the hospital where I did my surgery, St. David's Central, ALL made a HUGE deal that my doctor was Dr Lutz. Every single one of the nurses there were like "he is the absolute best... we LOVE Dr. Lutz". I've had few procedures through the years and have never seen any nurse gush about any doctor, but all of them did at St. Davids. So yeah.... nurses know best, ya know?!) They asked if I wanted to do physical therapy at their location, and after the success of everything else at Texas Orthopedics, I said absolutely. I saw Meredith this morning for my first Physical Therapy session and she was the first Physical Therapist I have ever been comfortable around. Very polite. Listened intently to everything I said... and explained everything very clearly. They definitely have a very high level of service Texas Orthopedics... these doctors were so wonderful, I wouldn't hesitate to see anyone else at this practice. Do yourself a favor and stop the search, and just go to them. You'll thank me later. read more

First of all, the doctors & clinical staff are amazing, as are some of the clerical / admin staff. The phone system is horrible. My daughter has an appointment this afternoon that we have no transportation to get to. That's another story. I left a message this morning at what the voicemail said was Cedar Park front desk, a detailed message. No call back. I just called again a few minutes ago. Hit the prompt for operator and was redirected to CP front desk voicemail. I have left another detailed message. I value Dr. Bunch's time as his appointments are hard to get. I need to reschedule and also so as not to waste anyone's time, can hear results over phone. No call back. I'm posting this 1; out of annoyance 2; so I don't get charged a no show fee. read more

Update: Just had my follow-up at Austin Sports Medicine! Due to Texas Orthopedics Sports and Rehabilitation's gross negligence (trying to get me in instead of telling me they don't have the time to deal with a time sensitive injury, thus causing me to be in a splint for 3.5wks) my elbow is now completely frozen! Way to keep the patient's best interest at heart! Now my recovery time is going to be months longer, all because this place likes to overbook instead of telling patients they don't have room to treat you. I wish I had been more informed about injuries in this area. They screwed me big time!! I'd also like to add that I'm appalled by the compliments Dr John Rodriguez is getting. Though, I've also noticed that everyone complimenting him has a sport's injury. I guess he only actually cares about you if it's an injury from a sport he likes. Mine is from bouldering; I guess that isn't "sporty" enough for him. He didn't care about actually looking at the injury at all. He acted very bored and disinterested throughout the entire appointment. He didn't care to see if I could wiggle fingers, move my wrist, etc. He certainly didn't care to poke around the actual arm. It never came out of the sling, much less unwrapped or out of the splint. To top it all off, he skipped my follow-up and left a very non-descriptive voicemail days later saying nothing but "your injuries look like what you'd expect from it being dislocated." No "you need another appointment", no plan of action, just "looks about right, call if you have questions." Biggest waste of my time. It's quite possible he could know what he's doing, but I guess I'll never find out! read more

I've got a herniated disc in my lower spine and Dr. Mukai is outstanding. She's not the easiest to get in to see, but her PA is awesome too. I went in to get a spinal steroid shot and it really helped me get back on my feet. I was in utter and extreme pain. I was very nervous about the cost of the shot even though I have insurance. Today I received a refund for the money I paid out of pocket. How is that possible???!! I assumed the envelope was a bill because that is what I'm used to with doctor's offices. Much to my surprise and happiness, it was a check. I feel better, and I'm not poor. Well, poor-er. read more

They have an urgent care after hours, but I recommend making an appointment with a specialist if you can wait. They do everything they can, but if you have a problem with one area, like your hand or foot, you are not guaranteed that specialist will be there. I have a problem with my thumb, which sounds small until you can't use your thumb. I went into the urgent care, they took x-rays to confirm it was not broken and treated the swelling, but it did not resolve the issue. So I made an appointment and got Dr. Stewart. He sent me for an MRI and started looking for the cause of the swelling and pain instead of just treating the swelling as the cause the of the pain. I am not two shots in on my hand, and we are still working on finding the cause, but I would not let another doctor near my hand at this point. Dr. Stewart trying to find the cause with tests needed instead of "saving me money" like other doctors have in the past by not calling for those test is moving me towards recovery. After the second shot the pain is a lot less and he is requesting blood work to dig deeper into the cause to make sure that what we do will resolve the issue. He is also very friendly, easy to talk with and has a gentle touch which is essential when dealing with something that hurts so bad. read more

This place has HORRIBLE customer service. I was referred to them by an ER for a tendon issue due to repetitive motion. When I was scheduling the appointment, they told me they needed certain information from me since it's due to repetitive motion (pretty much typing). I told them I just needed a consult to know whether or not I could go back to work and if I couldn't, then I would go through the proper channels necessary. They still told me I needed very specific information to schedule an appointment. Fast forward about 1/2 hour, I called who I needed to just to get that specific information - which btw I didn't need to get - but got it solely for the purpose of getting a consult. I called Texas Orthopedics back with EXACTLY what they asked for and was then told they couldn't schedule an appointment BECAUSE I did the steps I needed to in order to get an appt; I did EXACTLY what they told me to do. In a nutshell they asked me for information and asked me to take steps that are absolutely necessary (according to them) to get seen by a doctor. I took those steps and got them that information. I called them back and was then told that since I had taken those steps and had that information available, I wouldn't be able to see a doctor. Here I am already stressed about missing work and dealing with pain and they were of no help. None whatsoever. I ended up crying and getting very upset due to my frustrations and was told "I let you talk, now let me talk". I "let them talk" and they were useless. If I had listened to them, I would have been stuck in a vicious cycle. I do want to thank them for being difficult because it ended up helping me dodge a huge bullet. If I had ended up going to see them, I probably would have had major issues getting simple administrative stuff done. I read reviews about their unfriendly staff after the fact and wish I would have looked over them before I wasted an hour. DO NOT GO THERE! IF SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT ALONE IS THAT DIFFICULT, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW DIFFICULT IT WOULD BE TO GET PROPER TREATMENT. read more

Dr Schultz was so dismissive of and rude to me that I left the office and cried all the way home. I was referred to this group by my primary care physician because of terrible knee pain and locking. Turns out I have a torn meniscus. Dr Schultz looks at the xrays for a few seconds then says, "not worth fixing the meniscus because all the cartilage is gone from that knee." This was the first time I had any idea that I might have arthritis, and he basically blows me off and says live with it. He said he could give me a steroid shot but didn't think it would help much, then he just left. Nothing else. About 3 minutes total, leaving me with the impression there was no hope. No explanations about what options there might be. Just not worth fixing. No information about arthritis, no information about pain management, no physical therapy, no discussion about knee replacement as an option. He left me with the impression that I would be in terrible pain for the rest of my life and that I had no options. As soon as he saw that I was a 57 year old woman instead of a man or young athlete he dismissed me and my pain entirely then hurried off to find a patient more deserving of his valuable time. It was a devastating experience. Anything I now know about possible options is entirely due to my own research on the internet. I now have to find a new orthopedist and explain that I know that I have a torn meniscus & arthritis has eaten all my cartilage and I need a knee replacement, but my previous orthopedist didn't think I was worth his time. read more

Over charge for Orthopedic boot worth of $90. They charged for $345. I asked them how much it'd cost? they couldn't tell me and just want me to sign the form to make sure that boot couldn't be returned. Their explanation for the cost is because the insurance allows them to charge that much (WTF?). The insurance said no such thing. I got stuck with the bill. They are deceitful. Be careful read more

After a recent basketball freak injury I found myself meeting with Dr. Foster a couple of times to determine if my finger needed surgery. From the time I checked-in to the time I checked out I spent no more than thirty minutes total being taken care of (this included x-rays, Dr. assessment, etc). They're doing a excellent job moving people through and I don't feel the 1x1 attention is being compromised. Although I hope to never see Dr. Foster again -I do recommend him, if you need a hand surgeon, and Texas Orthopedics. Pros: Free wifi Good system down to get patients in Cons: Limited parking but not detrimental. read more

This place is awesome. Here's why: Appointments are plentiful and they'll work around your schedule, even making appointments with super short notice. They actually take you in ON TIME and you get to see the doctor quickly. Everyone is super nice, and no one wastes any of your time. I saw Dr. Blais, who answered every question I could think of, and he was SUPER nice and knowledgeable. This facility is beautiful, clean and very welcoming. Dr. Blais took me out into the open area to show me my x-rays and explain exactly what was happening. They care. I'll definitely be back. read more

I am happy to report that I am pleased to add Dr Joel Hurt and his Assistant Jim Arrington to my medical team that is giving me the best care that anyone could ask for. My cortisone injection when like a charm this morning and believe me, I will without a doubt recommend Texas Orthopedics to all that I love dearly and also even to those that I don't love dearly. read more

I went to see Dr. Hurt last year when I was having trouble with pain and lack of strength in my shoulder. We started out with a cortisone shot and PT, but eventually I was still not getting better. I had an MRI and he saw that I had a torn labrum. I had surgery in December 2018 to repair it. Four months and a lot of PT later, my shoulder is doing great. I now have more strength in my arm and shoulder than I had before surgery. I still don't have full flexibility yet, but at the rate I have been progressing I expect that will be very soon. Thank you Dr. Hurt for your great demeanor and very successful shoulder surgery. I finally feel WAY better. read more

Doctors are good but the customer service is AWFUL! My appointment was at 11.20 but I read it wrong and showed up at 11.30...... they then told me that I could wait 4 hours or reschedule. All I'm saying is if I was there at 11.20 I still would have been talking to the doctor at 11.30. Very disappointed in the lack of compassion and kindness. read more

I unfortunately would not recommend this group. The office staff are very nice, but that's the only good thing I can say. I saw two doctors, one in Austin for my knee and one in Round Rock for my hand. I also injured my arm and they were going to send me to a third doctor in Cedar Park for that. I was told they do not have one doctor that will treat all of your injuries at once. You have to see separate doctors at different locations for all your body parts. I have a torn MCL and the doctor at Tx Ortho treated me like I was bothering him by being there. He said he would order an MRI but then I never heard back from them. They gave me a brace and sent me on my way. No physical therapy. No treatment at all. I also saw a hand surgeon who was so rude and made me very uncomfortable. He talked down to me and acted like he knew how my hand was feeling better than me. I get that he's a doctor, but he doesn't know what I'm experiencing and he actually rolled his eyes at me when I told him my finger was numb. I would not recommend Tx Ortho and have since found a new ortho group that I feel much more comfortable with and a doctor, one doctor, who is treating my injuries thoroughly and kindly. read more

I highly recommend Texas Orthopedics to anyone needing a hip replacement. Dr. Goldberg did an outstanding job with my procedure. I was in at 6:00 am and went home an hour and a half later. I was walking the same day. I am now 6 weeks out from surgery and taking longer and longer walks and getting my strength back in my hip flexors. I haven't had this stable of a hip joint in years. Dr. Smoot & Pretty much every nurse that helped were hands-down amazing! From Ana at the front desk to Bonnie in the back, I was blown away! Courteous and hospitable doesn't even scratch the surface of the patience and kindness I experienced.
