Sam wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive painter I interviewed but I could tell right away that he cared about the details and making sure everything was done to my satisfaction. The estimate was fast and accurate and Sam even helped us pick out a new color for the trim. His contracts are very detailed and he tells you exactly what you're going to get and he even offered to alter the contract if I felt something needed to be added. The team started within a week and they did a wonderful job making our house look brand new again. We had several areas of our stucco that had cracking but Sam took care of all of them and even put a fresh coat of polyurethane on our front door. Sam was there personally almost every day and he had me create a punchlist near the end. He personally walked through every item with me, ensuring everything was completed to my satisfaction. Beyond frustrating. We were quoted $42 an hour for handyman repairs. Scheduled them twice for a…read moresheetrock repair. First time they couldn't make it. Second time they stated they wanted to charge me $84 an hour because they had a partner with them even though this was 2 holes on a ceiling and just a 1 person job. When I told him most of the time was waiting for it to dry and that I didn't want to pay for 2 people to wait, he said he understood and would go solo. He then tried to force me to accept a minimum hourly amount for each step of the task which was egregiously overstated. For instance, he wanted 3 hours of time to go buy paint. It's 10 minutes each way to the nearest sherwin williams or home depot and you are painting a 5 inch patch of space. Coincidentally, this total would end up about the same as the 2 man price he wanted me to do. It was really clear he was trying to change the pricing to a fixed bid and back into $250 for the job. I then informed him I was not okay with that and would only be okay paying the $42 an hour for the time he actually took to complete the job, he then stated he wasn't interested and called me unprofessional. He condescendingly called me "buddy" and tried to claim I was looking for "free work". So, if you want somebody to honor their quoted rate, hire anybody else. If you want somebody to low ball you and then try to invent ways to more than double the price by claiming additional workers or egregiously high timeframes for simple tasks, then go with this guy.

Our 70-ish year old home is made primarily out of limestone, but our eaves are all wood. They had…read morebeen neglected for years before we moved here, and we hadn't been able to push it to the top of the list yet ourselves. When we decided it was time, I started investigating painters. I kept coming back to Everlast Pro Painting. I decided to call and Patrick Overby came out to meet me, we talked and walked around, I showed him some issues I had with wood rot, and he assured he could have them fixed. A couple of days later the bid came in, and it was what I had imagined and hoped for, so we agreed. We set a time that would work for us both, and we were set. When the time came, Patrick's team came and power washed the heck out of my house. The stones practically gleamed. The next workday, they got right after it, scraping old paint, patching uneven areas, fixing that wood rot and painting. The entire process took 3.5 days of work. The crew was friendly, but unobtrusive, conscientious and careful. I frequently saw them conferring about an area between themselves, pointing, talking, thinking. I know this sounds trite, but I really appreciated it. They had a couple areas of overspray, but they promptly fixed this. They had a few drips here and there, but they took care of that with me too. Overall, it was a very carefree experience, I'm really happy I decided on Everlast Pro Painting, and I will call them again, should the need arise. Whew! Ticked that nagging painting job off my list! See my before and after pictures. On a side note, YES, I read the negative reviews on this company. I think that it's completely unfair to take someone's business, their livelihood, and rate it the lowest possible because they irritated you. The ceiling and the wall by the stairs looks flawless-like new! He carefully matched the paint to the rest of the ceiling and walls and painted everything with such care. I hired this contractor thru Home Advisor. Those people haven't done anything. I had water damage…read morefrom a water heater leak. The company that extracted the water from the hall and partial in 2 bedrooms and the water heater room made holes in the wall to dry and one room a portion of the wall had to be removed along with the baseboard. There were holes in the hallway by the third bedroom and by the bathroom. This contractor came to my home to see and what I needed. He wrote me a proposal with labor, materials and paint. What areas that needed repair and painted. I even told him to pain the hallway. The first day he came patched up the holes and primed them. He said he would come back the next day. He left the one bedroom floor full of primer. I put a tarp that I purchased at Home Depot. It was all over the floor. He came back the next day. He finished painting fast. He wouldn't put the baseboard on. How can you leave one side of the wall without baseboard the rest with baseboard. He saw all of this when came. He told me if I wanted baseboard I would have to pay extra $35 to go get it because there was no Home Depot close. There is one close. Then he said he didn't carry anything to measure or to cut. I told him I have a measuring tape and Home Depot will cut the wood for you. He then got angry at me and told me if I didn't like it to go get it myself and he was finished and wanted his money. I told him no because his job wasn't finished. Will he went to get the board. I paid him everything that is on the invoice and he said didn't have receipts either. He was making this unpleasant. For what reason I don't know why. The tarps I purchased to help him, he kicked them in my bathroom and left them there. He didn't ask if where he could throw them away or if he didn't like them. Nothing. I have a large trash can outside. He just left them and I paid him and he left. The carpet guy came to clean the carpet and opened the water heater room, my god what was this guy thinking? He painted the walls that were so streaky and the baseboards were left with the old color and paint all over floor and paint that dripped on the baseboard. I cried. There was a hole made in the wall by the baseboard the guy that extracted the water made to dry. That was not patched or filled in. I sent pictures to Home Advisor. I do not recommend him. He disrespected me by the way he talked to me in my home. He scared me. I did call the police because I called home advisor and the lady told me to call the authorities if he scared me. but my mom said let him get the board and finish so he can leave. The police did offer to send someone. The police said if he starts up when he comes back call right away. He put the baseboard and I paid him. He left mad. I didn't dream he would of left this water heater area the way he did. The unfilled hole is visible. As I said what did he think. He told me at one point he ran out of paint. I offered to get it but he said he would get it for me. I was glad. Things look worse now than before he came. It's horrible. He never cleaned up before he left. It was so dirty. He even left the water heater with paint. I offered to cover it but he said would take care of everything. I felt assured. Big mistake. I'm very disappointed and upset. He wasn't taking home advisors calls until today. So I was asked to send pictures thru email which I did. Now I have to pay someone else to repair his mess.
