Her name was Tish and I would highly suggest if you stop here you ask for her. During the meal I kept thinking about the book "unreasonable hospitality" and how she exemplified all characteristics of the term. She was friendly, she was attentive, she was competent in her knowledge of the menu and what was a better choice based on what I was looking for, most importantly she was genuine in her approach. Our family recently visited Texas Roadhouse and unfortunately the entire experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We arrived around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not packed, we didn't have to wait for a table, and there appeared to be plenty of staff working. Despite that, our visit lasted nearly TWO HOURS from the time we were seated until we finally received our check. Our waiter seemed completely unable to manage multiple tasks at once. It took 20 minutes just to receive two Cokes and two sweet teas. Our appetizers took another 30 minutes after that. We didn't even receive our actual meals until about an hour and a half into the experience. What made it even more frustrating was the amount of staff visibly gathered throughout the restaurant laughing, gossiping, and socializing instead of helping customers. It genuinely felt like customer service was the least important thing happening there. The final straw was the restroom situation. The "family restroom" might as well be renamed the employee restroom. My husband and daughter stood waiting while employees continuously went in and out as if it were reserved for staff use only. Then when I entered the women's restroom, it felt more like walking into a high school hallway than a restaurant bathroom. Multiple groups of female employees were gathered inside laughing and gossiping, blocking the space, and after waiting several minutes I realized many of them weren't even waiting for stalls -- they were simply hanging out in the restroom. To top it all off, the food itself was subpar at best. Our steaks were overcooked, and the appetizers tasted like they had been sitting under heat lamps for far too long before ever reaching our table. Every concern, question, or complaint we brought up was met with irritation or complete nonchalance instead of any attempt to correct the situation. I'm here visiting in MS and a couple of colleagues have invited me on three occasions to dine with them here. I have to admit that I've been pleased each time coming. First with the congeniality of the staff and this electric atmosphere. Okay some might say noisy; potato, potatoe. People are enjoying the food and drinks. So, to each its own. Nevertheless, my first visit I had the 1/2 slab of ribs. I was only able to eat not even half because I got full off the warm bread and my two sides. DISCLAIMER: the bread they serve is deadly GOOD; watch out. Next, visit for lunch I had the 6 oz. Hand-Cut Sirloin with a house salad and mashed potatoes (which again I had to take a bag with me). Went with a large party for Mother's Day and the place was absolutely slammed. Staff was wide open turning over tables and attending to guests (rare sight post COVID). This prime rib is supposed to be medium rare which is red or pink, but it's a deep dark gray, which is even past well done for a prime rib. So glad I didn't go off of the yelp rating (3/5 stars at the time of writing). Like many others I was in town for a work trip and wanted something that wasn't burgers. I sat at the bar and the mood was lively, I went with my usual order of the filet medallions which came out a perfect medium, also the rolls with cream were on point like they always are. I am giving this a two star because my filet was fantastic and arrived in a very timely manner, otherwise it would be a one star. However, we were extremely disappointed in the friendliness of the staff. There was not one staff member that smiled at us, but we did see one server (not ours) engaging and checking his tables and was so friendly to the people he served. Many of the staff wore shirts that said "I love my job" on the back but it didn't seem like that was the case. Our plates were served by a person that had two inch nails and my plate had a hair on it. When I pointed it out the person held out their hand and just looked at me. We tried this restaurant twice now, neither experience was positive. The wait was over an hour but we were told "20 minutes ". We made it to table, which was not cleaned well after the previous customers left. We asked the server if they could please wife off the table, and she obliged. About 1 time a quarter we get the chicken strips Take out online order , so this weekend we decided to get it again. It was very busy, especially for a Tuesday night. We were greeted warmly at the door and told the wait was about 20 minutes but there were seats at the bar so we went for those. Courtney was the bartender and she was very warm and friendly. She located a gluten free menu (Thank you Texas Roadhouse for a gluten free menu) and kept my water full which is a great feat with me. It wasn't Brooklynn, the waitress', fault, a customer ran right into her, but the manager paid for our food, a guy sitting across the bar paid for my husband's beer bc he heard him mention the hospital and everyone was so doggone friendly!! From the beautiful waitress who gorgeously serenaded us earlier as she waited her tables and later grabbed my jacket to try to salvage it to sweet Jennifer the manager who immediately came to us to let us know she was paying for our dinner and wanted to pay for dry cleaning the jacket too, they made us feel like family.
