Run or walk away from this business. I must've had a momentary lapse of reason signing up with this company. I saw the ad I think on social media and called them. I googled the name and at the time didn't find anything bad. Every time I talked to someone, it was clear they were out of state masquerading as being local. The business name changed to hide the scam. My contract read Austin Matchmakers. I was suckered into this scam of a business for 5100$ no refund. My spidey senses were off it seems but I talked at length over the phone with Tracey in San Antonio who said it was such a great successful matchmaking service. I went into their office near Zilker and Mopac and met with Trudy Dennehy. An older woman who's been married for 30 some odd years. I told her what and who I was looking for in a partner. Filed out all the questions on the paperwork and coughed up the money. I didn't like how I was blindly being set up and not even a photo of their gents. She said they don't do that anymore and have a lot of success doing it this way. They're the professionals. Ugh. I received a packet with all the information. About two weeks passed and suddenly I received a call from what sounded to me like grandpa from the sticks calling me wanting to set up a date. He was all about what I had stated was a deal breaker. I mean everything. It was as if they confused the deal breaker list for my desired partner list. Our short conversation with this match was clear we had zero in common and I don't think I could even have had a coffee with this guy. Did they even look at my stipulations? Anyway I requested a refund since no date was ever made and I'd be willing to loose 500$ but not everything. It wasn't going to work out since I wasn't being heard in finding my ideal mate. They told me there are no refunds and I replied it was false advertising if they can't even get me close to whom I wanted. The data base must be very small. Since I declined the first date match they said I couldn't proceed but I couldn't get a refund. Biggest gambling loss ever. I have been a member for a couple of months and been introduced to several quality men. All within the perimeters I had requested. When I speak with the matchmakers they are very nice and very professional. Perhaps the other posts are from young people, I don't know. But I am a women with grown children. This so far has been a great experience so much better and safer (they perform back ground checks) than meeting someone any other way. LMAO, This place was/is a joke. I was 25 back then, great job, great house, great truck, great dog, but single. Contacted them, some lady from San Antonio called me almost within an hour, chatted me up, 'likes, dislikes, preferences...etc etc', she mentioned setting up a time to come into the local office soon to meet with her. Fast forward a few days, mind you, i was naive and anxious to see what this place was all about, and not once could i get out of my head, "why dont you just go to a local restaurant bar, or the domain to meet a nice young lady" but as stubborn as i was, i showed up to my interview @ 730 pm over off jolleyville. Guys name was Robert, but i was expecting to meet with a woman, OK.... awkward already....but being a curious monkey that I am i continued on. Fast forward 30 mins of blabbering conversation about what I wanted and needed, etc etc. He pulls out the "Referral prices", the dates, women, men, are referred to as 'Referrals'....by this point I'm in my head already making a grocery list of what is needed for dinner that night, Carne con chile, tortillas, frijoles, you know, the usual. Fast forward 1hr and 23 mins, after seeing the prices i figured i would just not go through with it as i could not afford it. They have different levels of membership, 5 "referrals" for 1400 10 referrals for 2000, 15 referrals for 2600 ( somewhere along those lines) one of my biggest weaknesses is saying "NO" haha, but as mischievous as i was back then, i said, "yes" Gave him my prepaid debit card, (was laughing my head off inside my head when he just took an imprint of it on one of those old school credit card copiers) Clearly the card i gave him was from winning a Rafael at work the YEAR before, which had in excess of a whopping $1.30. He "thanked" me for my business, and said, we'll be in touch with "referrals" soon, you wont regret it.... Fast forward 3 WEEKS, silence, now mind you i technically DID not pay for anything since my prepaid debit card was already down to $0.25, (vending machines funds) They set you up with this website, where you go to review your matches, you have to make the first contact, set up the date and so on and so forth. I had no idea how i was getting matched up since i never actually was charged. I went on 4 Dates over the course of 8 months, all of which were disasters, the women were nothing that i had mentioned in my interview, Needless to say this whole time i had already signed up for match, which inexplicably charged me upfront, *rolls my eyes* Stay away people. I had requested a College educated person and 3/5 didn't. I had the feeling that they just wanted money with no interest in the actual match. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE MEETING WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Please, people, do your homework first! If you find a business ONLINE, then check it out ONLINE before blindly going to an appointment (be especially wary when the person who calls you initially can't even tell you who you'll be meeting with or give you the phone number for the local office you'll be going to in person). I have to admit that when Nina called me this morning, she was quite a charmer...I actually had fun chatting with her while she gathered all of my personal information (likes, dislikes, income level...she even made sure to double-check that I had a credit card, and needed to bring that plus ID and checkbook to my appointment). Obviously, all this personal info was gathered to provide to the "closer" who I'd be meeting with later this week. Once they knew my hot-buttons, they'd be able to lock me into a room and prey on my poor pathetic single lifestyle, and how they were going to find me the new love of my life. Please! I worked at a health club selling memberships (actually, HARD-SELLING them) for almost a year while putting myself through college, and this screening call smacked of the same things we were told we had to find out while taking an out-of-shape potential client through a 1-hour workout, then placing them into an office to sell them on how badly they needed to join today. We even had a 3-page section in our employee manual about how to overcome every possible objection to joining that day...because "be-backs aren't greenbacks". I was 19 and putting myself through college, paying my own rent, etc, and this job still disgusted me enough to quit as soon as I found something else (that paid even less but could cover my expenses!) and that worked around my class schedule. These so-called adults - ie: scam artists - should be truly ashamed to go to work at a job like this every day. I'm an intelligent woman who would not have been duped into paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for a membership with a company that I haven't even researched, but I do realize and empathize with many others who either aren't as cynical, research-oriented, or they're just plain lonely enough to give it a shot and hope for the best. This is like preying on the elderly, and it's just plain disgusting to me! MANY businesses receive positive online feedback from happy customers who are pleased with their product, service, customer-focused business practices, etc. But when you can't find even ONE single positive comment, it's time to run for the hills. I almost went to the scheduled appointment, just for fun since I had the free time, to screw with the salesperson and waste his or her time so they couldn't rip off the next unsuspecting "mark", but I opted instead to give Nina a ring back and laugh at her for working at such a disreputable company. Personally, I'd rather eat macaroni and cheese every night and sleep in a shelter than work for a company that has such a horrible history of ripping off unsuspecting singles by preying on their loneliness. LONG BUT WORTH THE MONEY YOU WILL SAVE!!!! First, they contacted me, I didn't contact them. I went along to see what they had to offer. When first contacting me, everything was fine. Then the wheels came off. We made an appointment at 1:00pm Monday. Kurt called me that morning to verify the appointment. When getting to their office, I was met in the hallway by a man explaining that an employee had left early that morning on a personal emergency. Recognize EARLY that morning! This was a 1:00pm appointment. I was never notified. The guy told me if I would reschedule for 10:30am Wednesday, he would personally take care of me and give me a great deal due to my age demographic, professional looks, and for my being inconvenienced. Wednesday comes and Kurt calls to verify the appointment. 14 minutes later, I get another call that there backed up and can I come at 3:00pm? The female staff member was still out. But, I made an exclusive appointment with the MALE employee. WOW!!! To put the icing on the cake, three different employees gave me three different directions to the office location in Austin. There excuse was they had some new employees. I asked how long Kurt was with them? They informed me 15 years but, he was bad with directions. Fifteen years and doesn't know how to give directions to the Austin Office? It's not as if the location was in New Hampshire. It's 75 miles away! First, I am investigating on how to file a Federal Discrimination Suit against Texas Singles for direct discrimination against me personally due questions asked and lack of response due these answers. I initially contacted them due my need to locate a new female partner. I am a caretaker for a seriously impacted gentleman due damage done him from a Workers Comp accident and tortured for years by Texas Mutual. My time available and amount at times is limited and do not have time to follow the usual format of seeking a partner. After finally relenting to call them and pass info they "required"prior a personal face to face I found them to be pushy. After telling them I am Retired through disability (not immobile at all) they asked a few very direct and unnerving questions about my ability to "date", then ended the call. NEVER heard back from them. For the sake of this record I am "disabled" but only in the manner of having had medical issues in 2003, I am fine now. I strongly suggest any and all ignore Texas Singles as they obviously are a Scam operation and I doubt they have access to ANY quality related ladies seeking real long term relationships. I answered a couple of questions on this website thinking when are the photos of fitness men where going to poo up, but no just more questions, so I just exited out of the website. I get a phone call from, I think her name is Diane, the next day asking about the questions I answered on the dating websites, I am already thinking something is not right or it's a scam. So, she said that she is with Texas Singles and set me up with a free consultation appointment. I am like might as well go to see what's this about and it's free! So, I met Robin yesterday, she seems cool, but she kept saying we are expensive, but we can match you up with some great referrals. She pulls out this package list if three packages and the prices where several thousand dollars, it ranges from $6,000 to $20,000! I am like she must have lost her mind, if she think I am about to sign up for This! They take all your financial info upfront so they know how much make! I an like I need to think about this, but she said I can offer you a first time appointment discount today, but if you don't sign up today you can't get it! I could not find a listing for this business in San Antonio, but I hope if you googled you'd find my review, so that i can warn you. BE WARY of this place. They advertise under the name "San Antonio Professional Singles" online, and are also known as VIP singles. I filled out a form online indicating an interest in having a "matchmaker" contact me. Someone called the next day, explained little about the process, and said to come meet them at their location here. I didn't know what to expect as I had no experience with dating services. I was told to be there at a specific time for an appointment. When I showed up, no one was up front, and I ran into one of the sales people who ended up meeting with me. Her name was Tracey. She was nice and fun to talk to at first, and helped me learn about the process. The situation got very uncomfortable once she finished explaining. After telling her I don't do well in high-pressure sales situations, she continued to push and guilt me into signing up out of supposed concern for my love life. I actually had high hopes of returning when I was ready to pay for the service, but she was so aggressive, I left feeling attacked and antagonized. The worst part is although I tried being civil and communicating my concern, when she realized I didn't want to commit that day, she simply said "ok, thank you for stopping by, it was nice to meet you" with an insincere tone. She did not give me a business card, she did not follow up in any way.. if HQ reads this, you should really tell your staff that this comes off as desperate, and instill very little confidence in your business. A truly successful business speaks for itself . The only thing I can say for myself is that my resistance to BS was low since it had only been around a year since I lost my husband. After seeing the ad on TV, I foolishly responded and set up an interview. I was given directions to their office and a description of the building. The description of the building wasn't even close to the description I was given, so I had to circle around a couple of times. When I entered the building, I saw a nice looking man who acted very excited about his previous appointment. He sang the praises of Texas Singles and wished me the best of luck. Now when I think back at that, I would bet my bottom dollar that he was a plant. Anyway, on to the interview. The interviewer was the biggest egotistical blow hard, so full of himself, man I have ever met. I should have turned around and left, but my weakness, shyness, whatever, took over me. Long story short, I signed. What a waste of a lot of money. For what I paid, I could have taken a very nice trip instead of this complete scam. I had a total of 4 meets, at least I think it was 4, and the big L was labeled on all. How this dating service matched me to these men in incomprehensible. Needless to say, there were no other meetings . I'd seen enough. I even tried to get some of my money back, but a trip to Mars would have been easier. In the end, no return on my money, no match, no nothing but a shrunken savings account. Please take my advice, DON'T!!! It looks good on paper, but it's a total and expensive rip off. LOOK OUT FOR THIS COMPANY IT'S A SCAM!!! THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND REFUSED TO RENDER SERVICES. I talked to Robert at the Austin branch in November. During a 45 minute interview he asks me about my arrest record. I told him I had some arrest and explained the situations. He said that there wouldn't be any problems because I had not been convicted of the arrest. Now all the sudden there's a problem. I've called all the numbers they gave me and ether they don't answer or they almost never return my calls. The few times they did return my calls they said they would have a manager contact me back about my refund. I have yet to hear from a manager but they did say they don't give refunds. I have gone buy the Austin office many times and at many different times of the day. The door is always always locked and no one ever comes to the door. It seems to be an office that's been setup to con people out of their money. Here it is May 4, 2016, six months later and no one will contact me about the $6000.00 I spent. It looks like I have to spend more money on a lawsuit. According to one attorney that looked over the contract, he said this is breach of contract for no services rendered. If anyone knows of a good contract Lawyer in North Austin or Round Rock area please post in on this page. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! This is the most bizarre organization I have ever "attempted" to do business with. They deserve NO stars as their business ethics and people skills are the worst I have ever encountered. My story........a friend of mine suggested.......she had only seen their sign in the parking lot of the business park where she works. So, I fill out an "application" on line.......within 10 mins, I get a call (@ 8:30 p.m.) from someone who is obviously at a bar or a restaurant (Lots of background noise that is people talking loudly, laughing, etc.) and wants to interview me.....this should have been my first clue......and she sets up an appointment for me to come into the office. The next day Tracye calls me..........starts the exact same dialogue that the lady last night went through......I told her "someone already called me and I have an appointment Wednesday at 5:30"......(This should have been my 2nd clue that this organization does not have their act together)...Tracye acts surprised but says, "ok see you then". I show up at the San Antonio Office on Paesano's parkway---no one is there to greet me, but a lady comes out and asks "how may I help you" and I tell her I have an appointment with "Sue" at 5:30......she says "we don't have a Sue" here.........so Tracye goes and checks her appointment schedule and Nope, I'm not on the appointment books.........but she says she can see me anyway as she had a cancellation (??). Tracye goes through the speel.....how did you hear about us, what are you looking for, blah blah blah......and I told her I already gave this information to "Sue" over the phone. Tracey leaves the office, goes to the office next door, I can hear her talking to a male voice and she comes back and says something like,..."well, Sue must be a new employee and she didn't enter your information, so would you mind repeating your answers. (This was my 3rd clue) By this time, 45 mins have passed.......I told her that I must leave in 15 mins as I was picking my daughter up from airport.......I just wanted to know what the "fee" was.........because I went through so much trouble, Tracye would give me a discount----$2600........are you kidding me????? I told her I did not have that kind of money to spend on a "matchmaking" organization and gathered my purse to leave. She just kept rambling about how good the service is and that I could easily put the charge on my credit card. I started walking out of the office and she said "think about it and I will call you in the next few days"...........Within the next 2 days, I received 7-10 phone calls from Tracey and this "Sue" person............I let them go to voice mail.........and eventually had to block the calls on my phone.........Please save yourself some time and energy and DO NOT ATTEMPT to use this business. read more
