We initially felt very hopeful that they could help our daughter, which is why we agreed to move forward with the assessment. However, after meeting with the director to review the results, we learned about these additional requirements and fees that had never been disclosed beforehand. The lack of transparency left us feeling misled and frustrated. Unfortunately, we are now out the cost of the assessment and feel that the full financial commitment should have been clearly explained from the beginning.

Today we held our sorority's retreat at the Round Rock Opportunity Center (RROC). It is not an…read morealternative education facility within the Round Rock Independent School District, designed to provide support to students who need a more structured or specialized environment. This center plays an integral role in the student's educational ecosystem. RROC provides support to students who may be facing academic, behavioral, or personal challenges. RROC allows students to have a second chance at academic success through targeted instruction and support. RROC is a part of the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program, however, it is not punitive but constructive. These students get to start with a clean slate and reimagine their academic success. We were very thankful to use the RROC facility for our retreat. We also donated school uniforms to RROC. The purpose of our sorority's retreat is to reflect on the first half of the year, lessons learned and edits for the second half of the year. We also are reviewing programs for the second half of the year and associated milestones and metrics. The retreat consists of a Kickoff with Welcome & Icebreaker. Next there was a community conversation with RROC leader and instructions how we could help RROC through community service. The morning was consumed with workshops ranging from mental wellness and fitness to career transitions and networking. Our sorority had a working lunch where highlights included cluster and leadership updates and retreat wrap up. All in all, it was a very productive day to learn more details about RROC and to conduct sorority business. It also was a great opportunity to bond with my sorority sisters. I always look forward to our annual retreats.

I just completed an Excel 2007 Level 2 course at New Horizons. My employer does all computer…read moretraining with New Horizons so I was not exactly shopping around with training. The account manager working with my company was very friendly, even when I had to change my course date twice. I took what they call an Online Live course where the instructor was actually in New York and myself and the other students were at computer workstation at various New Horizons locations. I honestly wasn't thrilled with this setup because I had imagined being in a classroom with other students and an instructor that was physically there. The workstations had two monitors, one to display the instructors screen and one for my own Excel practice. Students can virtually raise their hand and type questions to the instructor, which many of us did. I actually ended up enjoying this setup because I was able to focus without a room full of people but also sneak a peek at my work email a few times. The instructor was terrific and tried to relate the course to how we could use these new skills in our jobs. I was fully prepared for 8 hours of boredom but now I want to take Level 3 in the future. My one complaint is that the headphones provided are uncomfortable. My ears hurt and I had a terrible headache by the lunch break. After lunch I figured out a way to put them on my face right in front of my ears with the volume turned to max and be able to hear without pain (and luckily no one was in the room to see this.) Bring your own headphones! Also, the classes have a course book but they didn't have a paper one to give me like they normally do. I got an access code for the online book but I'd rather have a paper copy for easy reference. In the course evaluation I asked to get one. If I get this I'll be thrilled and probably increase this to 5 stars!

recently graduated from CeVMS and had a pretty decent 3 years most of the teachers are great…read more.. except for Mr Hyde lol. And there have been some students that have caused some problems in classes. Mr. Aldama was pretty chill. I have to say that some of the best teachers were Mr.G, Mrs. Adams, Ms. Margullies, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Johnston, and Mrs. Morey. I will never forget y'all! As I go on to high school and think back I hope that the new 6th graders have as awesome as experience in middle school as I had.

Having only ever attended one high school, I…read morecan't compare it, but as far as I'm concerned it's a very competitive high school in a number of areas. Academically, test scores are usually pretty high. The teaching staff was competent, for the most part, and a select few teachers were very influential. All the classes are up to speed in terms of technology and material. Of course, that was before the Texas Board of "Education" voted in the new curriculum. *facepalm* Athletics have always been strong at CPHS. I ran on the cross-country team and we usually placed highly. Timberwolf football is also very good, due to the fact that here in Central Texas they take their football *very* seriously. The marching band's won the State Championship twice now. Aside from the usual high school sports, there is also a lacrosse team, though I think they're more of an unofficial club, at least they were. As far as extracurricular activities, there's plenty of clubs and groups to be a part of. I participated on the Debate team and the school newspaper, The Wolfpack, and both usually received quite a bit of acclaim. There's also the Wolfcast, which shows local news and features, Junior Statesmen of America, the Junior Engineering and Technology Society, DECA (and their infamous trip), Philosophy Club, Invisible Children Club, Film Club and a whole bunch of others. CPHS could be a lot more diverse, but then again it's the suburbs, so that's kind of to be expected. That's not a detraction, by the way, just a note. At any rate everyone got along just fine. There's a strong Advanced Placement program here, although if you want International Baccalaureate you have to get bussed over to one of the other schools. Pretty good as far as high schools go. I don't recall any serious problems while I was here.
