Terrible!!! This is the worst steak I have ever had. I ordered the Filet, potato, and salad. Filet was tough, incorrectly cooked, smelled odd and taste worse. Potato was cold, and dried out. I requested extra butter and sour cream and received one small packet of each. The salad was generic bag salad quality and the dressing was a packet of lousy packet of Krap. I did not eat more than a bite or two of anything I ordered. Now I will throw it in the trash outside because the oder it is creating in my hotel room is making me nauseas, or maybe thats just from what I tried to eat. Anything would have been better than this choice, I will never try this again. So I ordered delivery and I guess I expected more for the price. I ordered a loaded baked potato and the potato was hard and I had to put the toppings on myself. If I would've known that was the case, I wouldn't have ordered it loaded as I have that stuff at home. I called to complain and they gave me an excuse which didn't make sense. They said they keep the cold ingredients apart? The cheese, butter and bacon are warm ingredients! The steak was a NY strip and was a little overdone and lukewarm at best. It hard a large artery in it and was a poor cut of meat. The order also took 1.5 hours and I had ordered online at 4:30pm and it said it took one hour to delivery. I ordered the Sirloin steak medium rare, baked potato, broccoli. The steak was tough, so full of gristle, I couldn't cut it much less eat it. Broccoli and baked potato were properly prepared and edible. Delivery service was good. We would probably have enjoyed this dinner of two ribeyes much more if they had arrived in less than 1:42. The online order claimed the delivery would arrive in 60 minutes. We called a few minutes past the hour mark and were told that the order was "out for delivery" now. Twenty minutes later a nice lady answered the telephone and apologized that the website had said 60 minutes, their orders were really taking 1 1/2-2 hours because they only had 2 delivery drivers. My family has been a customer of Steak Express for many years. A few times they have forgotten a cookie or some small thing, but overall it has been good food and good service. Today was NOT! I always call our order in.We waited at the drive thru for 15 minutes behind the same vehicle. Hubby finally CALLED in to ask if the drive thru window was working. After 5 more minutes I went in and there was my order...sitting there . I pointed at it to THREE different people and said "There is my order." They said, "We will be right with you." Why didn't they ask the other vehicle to pull up so we could get ours? Why didn't they walk our order out? They knew we were there. We got home with cold potatoes and a sirloin that had hardened. If customers are that unimportant to them, we can go elsewhere. The manager might want to tell employees that they can tell a vehicle to pull up when they wait to order at the window. I was a weekly customer for a while and then a couple months ago we ordered and my stesk was raw so they sent another it took 2 1/2 hrs to finally eat they were very rude about the whole thing. A couple months later we order again and its raw not rare it was raw so the manager britany said I could have a free meal next time I come in. So today I call for the free one and they say I already goy it! Really I think I would remember that! They were very rude this time as well and refused to let me even talk to britany but says she don't remember it. The food is bad the service is worse I don't recommend ever eating there. The only reason I rated this one star is that there are no zeros. I have periodically used Steak Express ever since they located in Midland and now vow to NEVER order from these jerks again, even though I love their yeast rolls. CONSISTANTLLY they send out steaks that are tough, rarely cooked the way you order it (medium rare will be so over well done that it's the consistency of shoe leather... and tastes much the same but with just a ton of salt and seasoning on it). The majority of the time if you call to get your order corrected or credit, you are not only rudely dealt with but often hung up on! If you ask for a manager, you don't get the manager. If you do get a manager, the person will not give you their name. They will not give out the owners name and refuse to give any kind of corporate or higher up contact info. Last night I finally discovered through internet research that Kyle Walker, currently in Abilene, is the founder of Steak Express. I called the number listed, which turned out to be the Abilene Steak Express. They had no problem giving me contact information for Mr. Walker.. an email address: kyle@steakexpress.com . To make matters worse after the Midland Steak Express "manager" was obnoxious, rude, and unwilling to do anything about my order, including send out the food that was paid for but not included in the delivery, and after hanging up on me, the jerk started directing OTHER ORDER COMPLAINT phone calls to my cell phone! Yes, I started getting complaint calls from people, who when I answered my phone would launch into: " my order isn't right, it was such and such, and you hung up on me!".... Yes, not only were the complaints exactly the same as mine and not dealt with in the same exact non-professional manner, but. incredulously the man started giving out MY personal phone number as the number to call for the complaints from other customers. I can't tell you how livid I am. And Kyle Walker has heard from me. I hope you will contact him over your complaints too, and start boycotting this business that does NOT deserve our business! read more

Rude employees. Had a problem with my online order being sent to the wrong store. When I called to get it corrected, they didn't. When I called back a different person told me they were the manager, and to wait 4 days to be credited back for their mistake. When I called back after a week-since no credit was given- a completely different person said they were the manager. Claimed to know nothing. Told to wait another several days. Ordered 2 burgers (45 min delivery time was quoted)called store 1 hour later said they were on their way. Called 30 mins later said they were on their way. Had them call driver. Driver said they were 10 mins out. From Illinois to where I live is only a 30 min drive tops. Got my food after my hubby had to leave. It was ice cold. Need to be realistic of time frame for orders. Will not be ordering here anymore! My sister in law who is 8 weeks pregnant ordered a sirloin and there were maggots all in the steak. When telling the manager about it she got hateful towards Me, tried to tell me I was wrong, and hung up on me she will not refund the money because my sister in law ate some of the steak without realizing there were maggots on it. It is disgusting! I will be reporting them to the health department. My sister in law went up there to show them the maggots they cussed at her. This place is horrible! Was recommended by the hotel front desk for great food that delivers. There is no possible way anyone should ever recommend this so called establishment. My son ordered the Philly Cheese Steak. The bread was soggy and the meat was hard and dry. I ordered the grilled salmon that must have been sitting out under the heat lamp for quite some time before being delivered as it was hard all the way through. The baked potato was burnt on the outside, hard as a rock, and dry like everything else that was delivered. The only thing that was good about this place was the sweet tea. read more

Placed an order online, once completed the confirmation stated the estimated time would be 90 mins so my boyfriend called in to find out how long the wait would be if we picked the order up. The gentle men said on the phone it would be about 45 mins. My boyfriend told him he would ask me and then call back of we wanted to change it. (Which we did not) After about an hour and 40 mins my boyfriend called in to find out how much longer it would be. When the lady picked up the phone she already had an attitude , I'm guessing because they were closed and still had orders to deliver. At 1st she couldn't find my order then asked for the last 4 of my card and was able to find it that way. She then stated that we had placed the order to be picked up. I can understand the confusion but explained my bf just called to ask but not change the order. She told me "well I'm not the one who was on the phone" after she said that I asked her to just cancel the order and she immediately said "it will take 3 to 5 business days to be returned to your card" .I said "that's fine" and then she hung up on me. So I called back to the store and asked her if I could speak to the manager, which she then stated she was the manager, so I asked for her boss. I told her that she didnt not have to be rude and hang up on me , especially if shes a manager. I requested to speak to her boss which she stated would be in tomorrow and then called me an ASSHOLE before hanging up.. it seems impossible to find a number to call besides the store number so I will just leave this review... I'm not even upset about the mix up with the pickup but more about the fact that when try to call and get it fixed or just cancel my order that I get treated with an attitude and cussed at. They do seem to have some difficulty cooking your steak to order, but we have had good experiences, overall. We have ordered grilled chicken and steak dinners and have been pleased most of the time. Where else can you get a steak delivered to your door?! read more

If your customer asks for no bun because they have a disease that prevents them from eating wheat, you shouldn't make fun of them or give them a hard time about it. Just be courteous and take their order. read more

Sadly, tonight was our last time ordering from Steak Express. I placed our order online at 6:15pm. After almost 1.5 hours of waiting for our food to arrive, I called to check on our order. The employee who answered was courteous but only offered that they were slammed and the internet order wait time inaccuracy as an explanation. She said the driver had already been out for 24 minutes with our order and should expect it within another 20 minutes. I asked if our food would still be warm and she said the "special bags" they carry would ensure that our burgers would indeed be warm. Not only was our meal not warm, we didn't receive an item we ordered, the bag with the burger condiments was soggy from leaky vegetable juice and it took over 2 hours to finally arrive at our door. I have delivered food in this same, understaffed town and understand the struggle. However, communication can go a long way. A phone call/text/email to let us know they were behind would have made all the difference. I don't give negative reviews, really, check my google history - but because this is the second time this has happened at the same store, I felt it would be beneficial for the owner to hear what the level of service is like in their restaurant. read more
