Wife and I both had Marshal Dillon ribeyes, we were very disappointed! 1/4" thick steaks with a weird taste, I've had citrus marinated stake before and loved them. This place has a familiar air to it as other reviewers have noted. Dinner rolls as soon as you sit down, fresh crispy salad and even singing waitstaff if it's your birthday. My entree was the Jack Daniel's Bourbon Chicken which was good but not great. It comes with two chicken breasts and for some reason they are pounded thin. This doesn't mean they will be dry but they were. I think they were overcooked on the grill. But the service was very good and attentive so I do recommend this place. Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - Full Rack (2 pounds) of Fall-off-the-bone Baby Back Ribs with a side of Sweet Potato. The ribs were surprisingly good with a good char on the edges with the meat being tender and flavorful. The toppings for the sweet potato came on the side so we can control the butter and cinnamon sugar added to it. The coleslaw was delicious but seemed heavy mayonnaise and apple based. Service: 5/5 - ordered to go at the bar. She was busy with the customers but still super friendly. Ambiance: n/a - ordered food to go. Since we were waiting in the bar area, it does smell like old beer in that vicinity Value for price: 5/5 - the ribs were better than expected at just of $26 after tax! We stopped by thinking it was a Texas Roadhouse but the food was still good. Great location, right next to where we are staying (Hampton Inn). Food was good, service was EXCELLENT. Maggie (our waitress) was friendly, helpful and professional. There is no question in my mind that this is a total rip off of the Texas Roadhouse chain, right down to the decorations minus the line dancing waitresses. I don't mind that, but I almost didn't try this joint because the reviews were so hit and miss. It was directly in front of the hotel I was staying in though, and I had not had a steak in several weeks so I decided to give it a try. It seems like they got dinged for the most part in reviews because of service rather than food. My server was very nice and attentive so I had no complaints there. The food was really on point too. My ribeye was cooked to perfection, and just full of flavor. The salad I had was full of fresh leafy greens, with plenty of salad dressing. I had a very nice bowl of potato soup with plenty of cheese and bacon crumbles in it, and the bread rolls were hot and super fresh. I would definitely come back here if I was a local. Like I said, it seems like most of the complaints are about the service. If you are ever here and find your server is not doing her job you can ask for a different waitress. read more

We ordered two platters of chicken strips for Easter Sunday from the catering side. They were dry and tasted like they'd been made the day before. We also felt as if we got shorted because in previous orders 1 platter looked the same as the "two" we received yesterday. This is our 5th time ordering and have never been this disappointed in them. We ended up having to throw the bulk of it away because people did not eat it. We've never had that issue in the past. We tried to call and was told it was the right amount of chicken. Then once we tasted and realized how dry and hard it was I tried to call back and they wouldn't even answer the phone. Highly disappointed with our hard dry chicken for Easter- especially for $110 and highly doubt we'll be ordering again. read more

My husband and I went to Texas Steakhouse & Saloon for the first time tonight. We were greeted by the host staff as soon as we walked in and taken immediately to our table. Within a minute or two, our server introduced herself as Mackenzie and took our drinks order. We ordered 2 Manhattans. The drinks took a while to come, but it was no fault of the server as she went to the bar a few times to see if they were ready. When they came, they were a bit smaller than we expected and there was clearly no sweet vermouth in them. They were okay, but not quite what we're used to in a Manhattan. We both ordered the 10 oz ribeye with baked potato and asparagus. We then ordered a glass of Cabernet and a glass of Merlot. Mackenzie told us there was only one kind of Merlot left and the same for Cabernet, so we ordered the ones that were left. She came by 3 times to apologize for how long the bartender was taking to get our wine. Eventually, she said she had talked with the manager and that there was no Cabernet at all. So we ended up just getting 2 glasses of merlot. The steaks weren't bad. They were cooked as we'd ordered, but were quite chewy. The asparagus didn't have the woody ends removed as we would have expected. All in all, the meal wasn't bad and we enjoyed our time at the restaurant. Mackenzie was so friendly and welcoming and made our whole experience a pleasure. We understand that you get what you pay for. Cliff Notes version, the food was good, service was not. Our waitress was overwhelmed with four tables, one of which was already eating. We were seated promptly but not given silverware. Third time we asked for it we finally got some. It took a very long time to get soft drinks. We ordered wine and beer as well. Twenty minutes later we find out they are out of cabernet. I was initially told the tap for Sam Adams blew and they could tap a new keg. I was then offered another beer because they were out of Sam Adams. Which is it? Need a new keg or you're out of it? I was given a fork to eat my chili with. When I asked for a spoon, I was given a bar spoon. While this was going on, We saw other tables served efficiently. The waitress told the manager she was "in the weeds". By then, she was very overwhelmed. When the manager did speak with us, she only offered to take off the alcohol. Not much of a concession to your customers there when they never got alcohol because they were out of it. I've eaten here several times in the past when visiting Princeton but not in a few years. As others have said, this is a rip off from Texas Roadhouse. I ordered the Ribeye steak with mashed potatoes. Paid 30 bucks for a microwaved steak, it was less than a 1/4 inch thick, ribeyes are at least 1 inch thick, had zero flavor, no marbling of anything, no juice from the steak, nothing. I had to add Salt and Pepper just to have something for flavor, tasted like cardboard or water, nothing to it. To pay 30 bucks for a steak, I'm expecting something that somewhat resembles what the menu describes. I'm not a send it back person and I didn't send this back, but I really really wanted to ask the waitress what this was as this wasn't what I ordered. read more

Eight minutes seated at the bar with three bar tenders working. Not one served me or even made eye contact. Requested a table. Host did not give me silverware. Waitress took my drink order and returned with rolls/butter and my drink. Still no silverware. I caught her eye as she was serving the next table and requested silverware. The host station was eight feet away where things were kept. She stopped at the host station then went about her work. No silverware.... The ten year old boy at the next table must have heard me ask as he brought over an extra set from their table. They were very busy but the overall quality of service was inexcusable. The food/service here was surprisingly good! My father and I decided to eat here after looking at other options in the area. Once we walked in we seated ourselves at the bar, where the bartender acknowledged us and made sure we were taken care of. My dad and I both ordered the iron skillet dish. Which consisted of chicken, steak and shrimp. This dish came out steaming hot! The steak I had requested medium, was cooked just to my liking. Throughout our meal, the bartender made sure our drinks were refilled and made sure we were satisfied with our food orders. The table tops and restroom were all very clean. Restaurant has a decent atmosphere similar to any other chain steakhouse in this price range. If you're in the mood for a good meal in the Princeton area, I don't think you'll be disappointed eating here. I felt obliged to leave a yelp review after seeing all these other low ratings.
