This store has gone absolutely downhill and has no intention of getting any better. Besides the insane spike in prices and taking away their senior discounts with no notice, they invested in self checkout registers ..where you have to be helped in order to actually check out. If you thought the restroom situation could not get worse, check the pictures out for yourself. The entire hour I was there, the speaker kept calling for assistance in the restrooms and when I entered, I was absolutely speechless. There was actual on the toilet bowl, no locks on any stalls, and you can expect for there to be no toilet paper or hand soap. I can't even begin to imagine what the men's looks like. Pay attention to your receipt! I was overcharged and told "we don't credit back, you just get a store credit". Hard to believe. My credit slip was the cashier writing on my slip that I was charged the wrong amount, I'm not sure how that will be interpreted by the next person to see it. I guess I'll find out. I should've noticed when she told me the total but there are so many people here because it's senior day and I just wanted to get through the line. Would've been nice to hear an apology for my inconvenience and overcharging me but they acted like it was my fault for not saying anything sooner. Lots of inventory at this location but prices are high--- which means they resort to "recycling" to move left over merchandise. Witnessed employee throwing books into a HUGE box ---- was told they needed to make room for other items. Why not give them to customers for free??? I asked. The employee said --- Oh no, they send them to other countries. They will not end up in a dumpster. I'm surprised by the low rating, this place was awesome. They had everything, literally everything you could possibly want or need. Everything was labeled, easy to find and pretty organized (except for the books). I think the pricing is pretty fair, things are a little more expensive than I've seen at goodwill but they look nicer. The staff was friendly too and even walked around to help people find things or calculate pricing. Only complaint is the bathroom is DISGUSTING. It seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Texas Thrift has the best selections I've ever seen at a thrift store! The place was massive and had so many clothes to choose from. Not only that, but I felt like the clothes were a lot more unique and trendy than other places, such as Goodwill. The prices were also reasonable and on the cheaper side I'd say. I thought it was interesting that they had a vintage section, and my friend was able to find a super cool leather jacket from that section for only $15! I've also had friends find other unique and cool clothes from this location, so I think the chances of you finding something you like is pretty high here. I found two items that I liked for a total of $12. The store was well-staffed it seemed like and they were also super friendly! You can't return items here, but you can exchange them which is still nice. Very fun place to go thrifting! read more

Best thrift shop in SA. Huge, well organized, everything arranged by style size color. Great for seasonal clothes and goods, think Xmas and Halloween. Home goods are well organized as well. I can't begin to list how many awesome things I've gotten from here. I got a Lego set that retails for $75 for four dollars. I got a La-Z-Boy chair for $49 that I've now had for five years. I got a pair of brand new Merrell hiking shoes for $12. When my kids were younger, I got so many amazing things, a wooden kitchen that we had for about 10 years, wooden blocks worth about $100 for five dollars. Being the penny saver i am, i had to check it out. While my friend bought lots of clothes for her and her children, i think the real steal are the BOOKS. i love coming here to buy children's books for my 2 and 8 year olds. you can find $10 books for $0.99 and most are in decent condition. I love a good deal no matter what. This location is huge but the main issue that turns me off from this location are the prices. Now before you think I am crazy complaining about thrift store prices let me explain. I have photos to prove my concerns. When I think thrift store, I think of a company that takes in FREE donations and resells items dirt cheap making a enough money to keep the lights and cover operating costs. And also make some money to fund the less fortunate and some community events. In turn products can be sold cheap to people who may be on a tight budge. Everyone wins right? The findings... I saw items in this store that I have seen in Dollar Tree brand new for $1 being sold for over $2 - I may sound knit-picky but it is the principal. Also some of the prices I saw I wouldn't pay even from a regular retail store. Maybe it's just where I am from. The store is fine the reason for this low rating is that horrible cashier woman named LEEAN. Horrible attitude horrible customer service. She got upset because she put 2 glass cups on top of each other I asked her if she had extra paper so they won't break! The store it's self is alright it is very big! I have found some very cool items. Some items are over priced for being used but others are understandable just like anywhere. I've been coming here for about 4 years now. It is a bit messy but it's a thrift store so I don't find it to be a big deal. Sometimes employees can be rude but I'd imagine if they hired more people and paid them decent moods would change a bit. At the end of the day you don't know what the other person is going through... So. I am very upset with my experience here at Texas Thrift Store on Ingram/410. I came to shop, when I first walked in I asked if they had dressing rooms. I was assured by an associate that they did. I was even told where it was in the store. I did my shopping and had a very large assortment of clothing. When I approached the dressing rooms there was tape across them, they were closed due to Covid. The associate NEVER mentioned that to me when I had asked about them. So I was unable to try anything on. Ok. So I go to the first cashier I see and was told right away that she wasn't open. I explained that I only had a question and asked if they would allow returns on items that don't fit because I wasn't allowed to try them there. She said yes, they would take the returns. So I proceed to the only register that is open and wait in line. The cashier loudly stated that the gentlemen in front of me would be her last customer. Ok. So I wait for another 5 mins before asking her if they were going to open up any more registers. At this point there are 8 people with baskets ready to check out with no where to do so. We all sit and wait some more. People were getting frustrated because no lines were open and the waiting line was steadily growing. One associate hollers across the room for the second cashier to stay open and help customers. She then hollers back "We aren't supposed be get overtime!!" Mind you, there are 4 associates up front in different registers all this time. So we all sit and wait some more. When I FINALLY got to a cashier to purchase my items I asked her the same question about returns, just to make sure. She said no, their policy has always stated they didn't accept returns. I asked to speak to a manager, I wanted to know why they weren't accepting returns during this Covid pandemic seeing as how they weren't offering their dressing rooms so that customers can be sure of those purchases before checking out. It only seems fair to me that they would allow that because they decided to close down dressing rooms and not give the customer that option. If you have dressing rooms for customers to try things on before they buy then I can COMPLETELY understand the no return policy. But if you close them down the only logical thing in my eyes is that you would accept returns due to our inability to be sure that things fit before purchase. Am I so wrong for that thought? So a friend of mine and I recently got into a little side venture that requires us to scour through thrift stores and what have you for certain items. Unfortunately, they don't have a dedicated area to what we were looking for but we were still more than happy to sift through all the stuff. Yours truly, however, is almost always easily distracted and I'd come across something from my childhood that would get me thinking and throw me off track. I noticed that they had a lot of sales going on too. The day I went they were advertising for 50% all electronics and furniture and they had ads up for their Friday sale which was 50% off everything. The store is huge and you could easily spend several hours liking around. They have carved out a 'boutique' section that is nice but it also presents for higher pricing just because these are named brand. I shopped there frequently but as time has passed, I started noticing the poor conditions the staff was in. Not only was the ac down A LOT, the customers were horrible. I heard customers call staff mean bullying names, tell them that it's their job to clean up after them and their job to remove hangars. Even over heard supervisor yell at staff member. No wonder workers don't last here. I'm sure they barely get paid enough but to also have to deal with rude customers like that. There is usually some good clothing but the hard goods are usually dried up because the savages wait at the door for new items to roll out and they attack the new carts. Half off days make for decent prices but if you dislike the Black Friday vibe then stay away. Overall its still a pretty good option even though the prices are a bit higher. I guess a few complaints i would say i have is selling untested or broken items at premium price but no returns so basically they are selling a broken Xbox for 40 bucks thats not right. Also some items just need to be thrown in the garbage I've seen several jeans at this location with the entire butt ripped out and shirts with massive stains shoes with the entire sole falling off. Never coming here again... Dealt with a RACIST worker. The lady was very rude to me and she always is every single time I've been in here. I've tolerated and ignored this woman everytime I've came into this store for a year and I've had it. I will not be belittled and bullied for who I am. So I stood up for myself. She is an Old Mexican lady she's short with curly hair she was working at the register around 3:15pm on September 1st 2021 at the display cases. She is the reason I will never ever come back here. The store is huge which is good. However, there were clothes all over the floor and on top of the racks so clearly the upkeep of the establishment isn't too important to it's employees. The employees have probably the worst customer service skills i've ever experienced. Large thrift store with excellent lighting. Clothes are not jammed onto the racks so it is easy to navigate. Lots and lots of housewares that are displayed in an uncluttered manner. This place a decent size plus size selection. The changing rooms are small and a bit claustrophobic with no air, that's they're only downfall. I came in closer to closing and online it said the store closed at 9 pm, but at 8:40 they were yelling at everyone very rudely saying "the store is now closed". I was sad, because I usually always find really great finds but it felt like all the employees just wanted everyone out. I absolutely love thrift stores. I prefer to buy gently used furniture instead of paying 1,300$ for a sofa. What I do NOT like, however, is going to a "thrift" store that had a set of brown leather couches from Big Lots priced at 2,000$. No joke, y'all. 2,000$ buckaroos. These couches sold for 399$ at Big Lots. I checked. On another occasion, they were selling an older model flat screen television. (The boxy kind) for 2,000$ with a large sign on front that said "bulb needs replaced". Whomever is pricing these items needs to be let go....pronto. I admit that they have a lot of items, the majority being clothing and I love to spend hours perusing the aisles but if I wanted to pay retail, I'd go to Target. I also don't appreciate the rude salespeople and the fact that I wait in line for 15-20 minutes each time I come here. Sorry, Texas Thrift, we're over.
