My experience with Texas Winos started off on a positive note. In June 2025, I attended one of their Wino Fest events in Magnolia and thoroughly enjoyed it. Based on that experience, I booked the Fredericksburg Vintner Winery Tour & Italian Lunch for my birthday in July 2025. Unfortunately, less than an hour before the tour was scheduled to begin, it was canceled. We were notified by email that the scheduled driver had experienced a medical emergency and the backup driver was already assisting with another event. The company apologized and offered to double our winery tour credits, provide free tickets to any 2025 Wino Fest, and allow us to attend a Boat Bash on Lake Travis that same day. While I appreciated the gesture, the Boat Bash offer was impossible to accept. We received the email around 10:00 a.m., and the event began at 11:30 a.m. We were already in Fredericksburg, so there was no realistic way to drive to Lake Travis in time. Although my birthday plans were ruined, I understood that emergencies happen and accepted the four winery tour credits and two Wino Fest tickets for future use. A year later, for my birthday in July 2026, I decided to use my credits to book the same Fredericksburg winery tour. We arrived at the designated meeting location early and waited for the tour to begin. The scheduled start time came and went, but no driver or tour vehicle ever arrived. Even more frustrating, there was no communication whatsoever to let us know there was a delay, cancellation, or any other issue. I immediately called, texted, and emailed the company but did not receive a response for more than an hour. Richard eventually replied by email, stating that the driver had picked up the vehicle on time and that their digital roster showed the other attendees had joined the tour. This only added to my confusion because I had arrived early at the exact meeting location provided in their confirmation link. I even replied with a screenshot from their own link showing where I had been instructed to meet, but I never received another response that day. The following day, I again requested an explanation for what had happened and asked for a refund. I received no response to either request. After two consecutive years of having my birthday plans ruined by this company, I can no longer recommend them. My communications have been with Richard, and based on my experience, I feel I was treated unfairly and ignored when I tried to resolve the situation. I'm sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision before booking and hopefully avoid the disappointment that I experienced. read more

I purchased 3 wine tour tickets for a total of $335.13 through Texas Winos in September 2025 and went on the wine tour in October 2025. The wine tour itself was fun. However, Texas Winos has subsequently charged me $335.13 for tours in December 2025 and July 2026 for a total of $670.26 that I did not book nor authorize. I am currently in communication with Richard about a refund/reversal on my credit card. After reading reviews here I am not hopeful. I also filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau. I bought tickets a while ago and the event was canceled. I was contacted by the TexasWino team and they apologized. I was consistently updated with new events to attend. We went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was really nice. We tasted and bought a lot of wine! There weren't as many Vendors/Wine makers as I initially thought would be there. But it was still a good time! I let him do most of the drinking because I was the designated driver. Overall the atmosphere was nice and so were the winemakers. The Yeehaw from Spirit Hills flower winery was my absolute favorite! Hopefully they are regulars because I need another case! read more

I was expecting more vendors at the event, but not too bothered since my feet hurt towards the end of the event. My favorite wine/vendor was the Esperanza. They had this cocktail mixer that was memorable. The dragon fruit cosmo. I tried to buy a bottle, but it's not available yet. The event had a live band that played music, it could be hard to hear your party and vendors when they try to explain their history or what they are serving. They have great music and love singers to make it a fun atmosphere while you sip away. Ahem.... I would like to give a toast. A toast to meeting great people selling local wines and bringing good times to an area near you. I have to say this was the very 1st event from Winos that I attended and the location I visited was at the beautiful property at the Cypress Alamo in the Cypress area near Houston for which I didn't know even existed and it's close to my neighborhood. It was on an amazing fall day and the coordination of the event was spectacular as Texas Winos emailed communications regularly with sign-in times for which you could modify to fit your schedule. I was assigned a later time but moved it to earlier in the morning. Understand that once you are there you can stay as long as you want but they try to control check in times to help reduce crowds all at one time. It worked out very well as there were zero lines on entry and plenty of space and winery's to keep everyone spread out pretty well. Most was inside and some where also outside. There was many wine vendors as well as food and sangria vendors. It was a great tipsy time with no over drinking and places to sit and mingle outside as well. They even supply rinsing areas to refreshen your glass as you go from vendor to vendor. I do have to give them 4 of 5 stars on the event however because for them to have only local wineries, the cost of every single wine bottle started at $40 to $110 a bottle. The average cost of wines in the US sits anywhere from $7 to $20. When wines go over that we are talking some higher end wines from some more known wineries. You would think at a wine tasting they have more varieties of wines that are more affordable as a local winery. I spent over $200 on just a few bottles just to support local. Some of the best wines cost much less than what you can find here. Unfortunately I did not find a wow factor in the tasting to justify the cost of even their lowest wine at $40 a bottle. But for the event and the hosting and the amazing ability to meet and greet new people it's certainly a 4 star event for the admission. Cheers and Prosper! read more

I have been to several Texas Winos events in the Houston area and they are always a hit! I love how they rotate different smaller, local wineries and vendors. The event spaces have been nice, clean, and spacious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The crowd size is usually manageable as it is spaced out over several hours so everyone isn't entering at once. I will continue to return as long as there's an event to attend in my area! The admission fee is very reasonable. Check for specials on the site. My visits last for around 2 hours but I have stayed up to 4 hours if the crowd was fun this experience is best for those who like to have fun, aren't wine snobs and are open to trying new things in a laidback environment. read more

This was actually my second time doing one of their tours, which included three winery stops and a delicious lunch. The wine selections were fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the relaxing bus ride made for a perfect escape from Houston. Our driver was professional, and the whole experience was well-organized and fun--everyone was there for good vibes and great wine. I've also attended a few of the wine festivals they've hosted, and they always feature a great variety of Texas wineries. Beware of Double Charges On two separate occasions, Texas Winos charged my credit card twice for the same purchase. The first time, I reached out to them and received a word-for-word, copy-and-paste response that didn't resolve the issue. They never refunded my money -- thankfully my credit card company stepped in and issued the refund. I decided to give them another chance, but lo and behold, they did it again. Same response, same lack of action. Beware -- this company has a pattern of double charging and not returning funds. I am still waiting on my $800 refund. In my opinion, they are scammers. As always, I spent quite a bit of money for some really good wine, cheese, and snacks while I was there. I didn't take any photos, but left with weighted arms. We purchased tickets in advance for 3 people in two different transactions. The first transaction was fraudulently charged to our card again 5 days after the event. The second transaction was fraudulently charged to our card 2 months after the event. The first fraudulent charged was supposed to be refunded within a couple of days and never happened. I was just made aware of the second fraudulent charge through my bank and have submitted it as a fraudulent purchase. This company does not act on good faith; they string you along about sending you your refund with one lie or excuse after another. They have no intention to do the right then. This is unacceptable business practice. I woud not recommend this company! read more

Paid almost $300 for a cancelled event with no refund and zero response from owners (Richard). Our event was cancelled due to weather which is unavoidable and understandable. However the issue occurred with the lack of response from Richard/Texas Wino's for a refund for the event that never happened. I emailed him multiple times very respectfully requesting a refund as our entire group was from out of town and could not make a trip back into town for another event. He ghosted me and we never got our money back. All of a sudden today I receive a text from them saying FREE tickets for an event if we leave a positive yelp review lol....its clear they are trying to get their ratings up. I would never purchase from them again. Here is my last and final email to requesting a refund for reference. Dear Richard Wino (Texas Winos), I am writing to formally notify you that, due to your failure to respond to my previous inquiries and failure to issue a refund, I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding your company's actions. I initially reached out to you on August 23, 2024, requesting a refund for Houston & Cypress to Chappell Hill Winery Tour & Italian Lunch scheduled on July 13, 2024 which was cancelled. Despite my numerous attempts to resolve this matter amicably, including subsequent follow-ups, I have yet to receive any response or resolution from your company. Your lack of action has left me with no recourse but to escalate this matter to the BBB. As you are well aware, the BBB serves as a vital platform for resolving consumer disputes. Please be advised that I have included all relevant documentation, including email correspondence and details of my request, in my complaint. I trust this matter will now receive the proper attention it deserves. I purchased a wine tour through Texas Winos on Groupon for my 40th birthday trip to Texas and booked the Dallas to Neches River Basin & Italian Lunch tour for my actual birthday, January 3, 2026. I was looking forward to celebrating my milestone birthday with this experience, only for the company to cancel the event right before it was scheduled due to transportation issues. While unexpected problems can happen, what followed was even more disappointing. I contacted the company to request a refund since I had traveled from California to Dallas specifically for my birthday trip and could not simply reschedule another time. Instead of properly addressing my refund request, I was asked where I lived because they said they had locations in California. I responded on January 14, 2026, with my Northern California location and never received another response. I followed up again on April 13 and April 17, and still no reply as of April 25, 2026. Months of silence after canceling a paid birthday experience is unacceptable. Customer service and communication matter. If you cancel on customers, especially those traveling from out of state for a special occasion, you should handle refunds and follow-up professionally.
