Ian is the real deal - he fits his teaching perfectly between technical analysis and feel. He doesn't overwhelm with things like "oh your face is 2* open at impact" or "7500 rpms is too spinny for a 6 iron lets fix that" I would get from some other coach. I have went from shooting ~130 per round to getting my first handicap at 30.5 to getting my current handicap to 18.7 to signing up for my first tournament in 14 months. I have taken 9 lessons over these 13 months and he has built my swing from nothing to where it is today. I know that my velocity of improvement has everything to do with his teaching. Come in with an open mind and be ready to practice - you will improve with his teaching and analysis.

The driving range was pretty unique as it was hitting uphill. Although, the ball dispenser was a bit weird as I tried to buy a large bucket and it kept giving me small. The mats were nice considering it was outdoors and it also had rubber tees. The pro shop was nice and clean with a ton of clubs and merch to check out. Bought the obligatory souvenir ball. The pro shop guy was very nice and welcoming. The course itself was worth the drive. Great fairways all around. The roughs were in good shape too. The greens were superb. A bit fast since we did play in the afternoon but good for a challenge. Great views and hills to get good pictures for if you're like me and love photography. Ill be bringing my camera next time. The golf carts were good too and maintained. I wish they had the monitor gps but regardless it worked just fine. Would of gave the last star had there only been a beverage cart making rounds and the restaurant being open a bit longer since we weren't able to order any food. She is a consummate professional, good sense of humor, very supportive, has good coaching tools and will work with your swing. No ego. Just fun golf talk and a kind person. The other coach...a guy at Blue Rocks is pretty cocky, walking around like he's cool... nah he's not.... he just starts to set up all his stuff for his class, as you and others are putting, yells for people to move and then when I asked what he was doing, he brings out his "pro" card or employee badge or whatever. Apparantly means, he owns the place. Anyways. Do not go for that guy. Rebekka is the Wo'man' for the job. She works w your swing and gives good practical tips to improve. She films your swing and sends it to you, I have spent many hours looking at my swing and playing back her words of wisdom and it has given me lots of helpful tips and you are able to work on them, on your own. Over the years, my son has had few coaches who worked with him privately beyond classes such as Operation 36, Nike golf camps, First Tee, etc. As parents, this has been our first experience where a coach brought us into light on what exactly are our son's strengths and challenges are in great details. With Coach Brandon, he goes the extra mile with not just a detailed explanation in person but provides a better understanding for the player and parents with videos and a comprehensive write up of lesson planning, what's working, what needs improvement and how to get there in what timeframe. Coach Brandon is gentle with little humor here and there. He's a great role model to a young player as he's not just a coach but a player himself. Because he's also a player, he understands the ups and downs of playing golf first hand and can translate its relevancy and impact to a student who's eager to learn and improve. Thus far, we've been very impressed with Coach Brandon's skills and approach. As a parent of a son in tween stage, Coach Brandon's been a prefect match to our son.

I had my first lesson with Steve today. Such a nice guy! He watched my swing and quickly found some…read morebasic things that could help. He broke down the basics of the golf swing, with a lot of examples that I could easily understand. He showed me a video of my swing so I could see when my head was popping up a bit, etc... He also gave me drills to do at home that would help build muscle memory for the new things I had learned. It's definitely going to take some work, but the times I did put together the things he had me work on today, it felt so smooth, the contact was beautiful, and the ball went perfectly straight. I've been out in the backyard practicing the drills and can feel it getting easier already. I'm so happy I finally went and got a lesson. I'll be back to Steve Donnor Golf again soon for drivers and putting. For now though, I actually feel like I'm heading in the right direction for the first time in a while.
