Ashley was my tech for the procedure, and I used every hack she had to get through it. I used ear plugs and headphones they provided, squeeze ball for my right hand while I held the alert button in my left and she placed a cloth over my eyes so I would not see the flashing lights. I got through it and wanted to thank Ashley from the bottom of my heart. She says she usually works out of the Riverview location, but I was really glad she was here for me yesterday. The most unorganized, poorly run, unprofessional facility I've ever been to. Why do I need to wait…read more30+ minutes to make an appointment for a scan? I waited almost my entire lunch hour just to set an appointment for another day. When I couldn't wait any longer, I went to one of the booths to ask for my script back, explaining that I needed to leave. The lady sitting at the desk doing nothing but scrolling on her phone gave me the worst attitude, all because of a simple task of retrieving my paperwork. This place has lazy, miserable workers. I'm sure there are some good people working here but the bad definitely outweigh the good. This will be my last time using this location. Definitely not recommended.

If you are not comfortable in enclosed, tight spaces, get an open MRI. Machine is very noisy, even with headphones on. Very tight space and you cannot move for 15 minutes at a time. MRI's are uncomfortable but these machines need to be upgraded.

Probably just talking points on what to say if anyone complained!! But......what was really interesting was when my husband and I both complained at the front desk. Having never had a please non-traumatic experience at an er, and shying away from hospitals at all…read morecosts normally, I went in by request from the np at a nearby urgent care for very hi bp and pain. It was quiet thank goodness, I was received cheerfully and admitted right away, I asked each caretaker their name but have forgotten some, The admitting nurse was amazing and kind, I remember she had dark hair and nice lashes and a cool script tat on her left arm. My attending nurse, Judith, (same name as my mom's, irony) was fantastic, calm, kind, nurturing. She took fantastic care of me and did not treat me like I was a hindrance. I want to say, Emily?, she took me to xray and was great and we had a nice chat about water shoes, Ecuador and earthing, there was another who did the administrative (long black hair and pretty eyes, she was cool too. I remember she had cool flower tats on her arm. Even the security guard at the entrance was super cool. The attending dr, was nice, kind and had a great bedside manner, not something I am used to from er drs. Ooh there was also a nice nurse who did my ekg. Overall despite being there under scary-ish circumstances w/super hi bp from crazy hip/back pain and stress, they made me feel welcome and cared for. The whole facility was nice, clean and modern. Every care worker in the halls, while i was being moved around was kind. It was a nice calming energy for a place that see lots of trauma and stress. So yes this is the first time I am giving 5 stars not only to TGH but an er. I am grateful for how kind and respectful the entire staff was to me yesterday, New Year's eve, when everyone should be allowed to rest w/fam & friends and bring in the new year with joy. Thank you. This place was regrettably recommended to us by an acquaintance that I, for one, will NEVER get…read morerecommendations from again. I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. Yes, I'm yelling but I need to explain why. Let me start by giving the pros because that's probably fair. The location is located in Riverview, which was convenient. The staff INSIDE the building were very kind. The gentleman that I did the MRI's with was funny, personable and put me at ease. The office itself is slightly small but there weren't many people there any of the times I went. (I understand why - NOW.) They were also able to get me multiple appointments very quickly. Now, here's my story, along with the cons and how they can and unfortunately will destroy someone's life one day if these practices are not fixed. I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis since 2016. I have approximately 20 lesions in my brain so annually, I am required to get MRI's on my brain, c-spine, thoracic spine and my lumbar spine. With and without contrast for all of them. Any other office that I've ever been to for the scans, to include hospitals, Florida Medical Clinic, Tower Radiology, etc, have taken approximately 4 hours for all the MRI's, spread over multiple days. My entire spine has been clear of lesions, and I have not had any new or active lesions in my brain for years. I have a high sensitivity to MS drugs, so I am on the least dangerous one out there since it basically doesn't have any side effects. If I were to have new lesions, I would be subjected to trying 1 of 3 different MS drugs that would suppress my immune system and potentially cause irreversible damage, not limited to death. Now, the cons. First, when you call them at any time, you get a call center and most of the time, the representatives don't understand what you're asking, what you need or even who you are. One representative thought that I was a physician from my insurance company calling for a peer-to-peer conversation to approve the MRI's. Another time the person thought that I was calling to cancel my MRI that was the same day. I understand that it's cheaper to hire call center reps from other countries, however, with regards to medical services, patients don't want to have to repeat what they need over and over and argue with reps to get the information correct. Secondly, during my first MRI there, which was for my entire spine, I was in the machine for close to 2 hours. When I got out, I went to the dressing room to get dressed and collect my things. As I'm about to leave, the gentleman tells me that he must retake the thoracic spine MRI because "the machine didn't get it," and "that happens sometimes." I was a nervous wreck to begin with being in the machine for that long but then I had to do it again for part of the images. I was annoyed, not at him, but at the facility for having a machine that "sometimes acts up" and doesn't take the images. Then, when I went back the following week for my brain MRI that typically takes at least an hour any other time I've had it done, I was done in less than 30 mins. Now, I'm sure people would love that, however I was immediately concerned because I did not feel that the images would show what they needed. Apparently, it wasn't the images that I needed to be concerned with. It was the radiologist that read the MRI's. When my doctor received the reports, the brain MRI simply stated, "scattered lesions in the brain." We rely on the radiologists to actually count how many lesions there are to see if I've had any new ones pop up over the past year. THEN came the c-spine report. The radiologist listed that I had a lesion on my c-spine. That meant that I would now have to decide which medicine I wanted to switch to. Each one with varying degrees of potential negative impacts to my health and to my life. My doctor sent me home and stated that she would have her radiologist review the discs to get a more accurate idea of what we are dealing with. I went home and researched and had multiple discussions with family about the medications. We came up with an idea of what we wanted to try but I was heartbroken because my MS was considered unstable again and who knows what type of damage had occurred to my body this time and what rollercoaster I was about to be on with a medication change. A few days later my doctor called me and stated that nothing had changed in my brain and that I in fact did not have any new lesions on my spine. My spine was clear of any lesions. I was so thankful yet so furious that this whole time I was thinking that I was dealing with a new lesion, and my life was going to change drastically because of an inept radiologist. This whole experience screamed "bad news" from the very beginning. I should have listened to my intuition. Beware to anyone that still chooses to use this location for MRI imaging. I truly hope that my experience was a "one off," but I fear that it wasn't. If you choose to still get your images here

They asked if I had the order from the doctor and I said NO because THEY had the order at their location when I called to make the appointment. Woman told me, no order, no appointment and she would check and call me back with the information. They did not call back so when I show up tomorrow I do not know if I will be turned away or not. Could not call my doctor to find out because they were having problems with their phones and I could not get through to them. Customer service has gone to heck in a handbasket!!

I had a great experience at this BayCare Outpatient Imaging facility in Riverview. Usually I go to…read morethe Bloomingdale location, but they were booked up since I was late in requesting an appointment. Shame on me for waiting too long. I arrived super early since this was my first visit to St. Joseph's Hospital - South. I'm more familiar with the St. Joe's Women's Hospital in Tampa. Fortunately, it was easy to find on Big Bend. There's plenty of parking since the outpatient facility is a building that is separate from the hospital. I walked in and noticed that the labs are to the left while imaging is to the right. I was greeted immediately, signed in, and then took a seat in the waiting area. They called my name and I stepped up to the registration area. It was all very simple. I gave them the script from the doctor. They asked me a couple of questions and then I was taken to a separate waiting area for mammography. The waiting area is comfortable and clean. I didn't have to wait too long for the technician to come out. She gave me a warm cape to change into, and then showed me how to use the dressing room lockers to lock up my personal items. Every single staff member was friendly and professional. It's one of the staff qualities I've seen in all BayCare facilities. They all seem to be happy and friendly. It's almost as if it's a requirement for employment. I love that! Anyway, it was all very efficient. My technician was so awesome! I wish I could remember her name. She was so thorough, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. Well, as comfortable as a mammogram can be. LOL! She made me laugh, and made me feel so at ease. I would totally request her again if I could. I wouldn't hesitate to schedule another appointment here in the future. The entire process was flawless.
