I had a great experience at this BayCare Outpatient Imaging facility in Riverview. Usually I go to the Bloomingdale location, but they were booked up since I was late in requesting an appointment. Shame on me for waiting too long. I arrived super early since this was my first visit to St. Joseph's Hospital - South. I'm more familiar with the St. Joe's Women's Hospital in Tampa. Fortunately, it was easy to find on Big Bend. There's plenty of parking since the outpatient facility is a building that is separate from the hospital. I walked in and noticed that the labs are to the left while imaging is to the right. I was greeted immediately, signed in, and then took a seat in the waiting area. They called my name and I stepped up to the registration area. It was all very simple. I gave them the script from the doctor. They asked me a couple of questions and then I was taken to a separate waiting area for mammography. The waiting area is comfortable and clean. I didn't have to wait too long for the technician to come out. She gave me a warm cape to change into, and then showed me how to use the dressing room lockers to lock up my personal items. Every single staff member was friendly and professional. It's one of the staff qualities I've seen in all BayCare facilities. They all seem to be happy and friendly. It's almost as if it's a requirement for employment. I love that! Anyway, it was all very efficient. My technician was so awesome! I wish I could remember her name. She was so thorough, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. Well, as comfortable as a mammogram can be. LOL! She made me laugh, and made me feel so at ease. My x-ray wasn't sent to my doctor for over 1 month+. I opened my results and it immediately showed me cancer surgery suggestions....I almost shit my pants. I was in a complete panic. It's absolutely % stoopid for that to be practically the cover page of a chest x-ray result. Wtf? -! ...I will definitely have a different office if necessary in the future. From the second that I had interaction with staff seemed unprofessional. The employee that took me to the waiting area started asking me questions that are private such as have you had an abnormal mammogram in the waiting area when 3 other patients were within 5 feet of me. Seems like a HIPPA violation in itself. She then tells me that because I had an inconclusive mammogram I. The past that she cannot do the one for today. Then she tells me to go take a seat in the waiting area. I thought she was calling my OBGYN to see if my mammogram was normal last year. Instead she has me wait 15 minutes in the waiting area after having me change and tells me the same story about how she shouldn't do a mammogram on me. I could tell she was wasting my time so I told her I would save her some time and just leave. As a baycare employee I really got a clear picture of what the baycare qualities should not be today. Never come back here. It's just a bunch of lazy and irresponsible staffs. They said that we didn't have a authorization code and I asked them to call our PCP to get the authorization code they said it's closed but When I call the office they're still open. BayCare Outpatient Imaging is the epitome of ambulatory customer service. The facility is spacious, sanitary and generates a comforting environment. The staff are well trained and focus on patient services. Medical personnel are attentive particularly Ms. Sara, Ms. Melissa and Ms. Angela. I was provided excellent care and even subsequent to a delay in my appointment, I received numerous apologies. I also visited the Diagnostic Manager of this well administered operation, Ms. Melandee Levin, to exhort my complimentary perspective of her subordinates. Dee, as she is referred to by staff is an exemplary manager. I have visited numerous outpatient facilities throughout Maryland, New York, Washington, DC and Florida, and none measure up to the standards of Bay Care. I have encountered more medical personnel than the average American since I managed two major health systems as Commissioner of Corrections in a major city. BayCare is a citadel for patient services and their radiology unit is well respected in the indigenous medical community. First time using this establishment and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment you walk in the place is beautiful but of course we all know the package can be deceiving. The registration clerk was friendly and efficient. Waiting areas are very pleasing and they have a small play area for children which I am sure can be a lifesaver for many parents. My husband was having an MRI so the tech immediately offerred for me to accompany him back there to a private waiting area. The main waiting room has coffee available and all areas had large TVs. First impressions can be good or bad mine was good! read more

I would not go here and if I could rate a zero I would. My 23 year old daughter had a CT scan done in April 2020. I assumed all was covered by our insurance as we never heard a thing until She received a letter from a collection agency in October!! We didn't even think it was real until we called and finally received details that all bills are sent via email ONLY! Possibly all went into junk or spam because we knew nothing about it. They still refused to do anything or help (unless we paid the large bill in full) even though my daughter is out of work due to covid. This is horrible and I will NEVER go to Baycare again! If it had a negative star I would chose it. The people who work here have no compassion for patients, they are rude and disrespectful. The service is poor and treatment even worse. They customarily bill patients more than a year later even after they no longer have the insurance overage, is like they love to take advantage of Americans while illegal immigrants get services for free. My recommendation is, pick another place for your health care they are all about the money they can drain from you and nothing about your quality of like and medical services. If you ask to speak with a supervisor they are rude, cold and disrespectful, all they want is your money, they do not care if you live or die. BayCare outpatient services are less than mediocre. The supervisor I spoke with was named Daniel Salisbury and she was more interested in hearing herself talk than listening to what I had to say, not a kind person only worried about doing her job to mistreat patients and talk legal terms about terms and conditions.
