TGI Fridays at White Rose is one of two remaining locations in Leeds, following the recent struggles the business has been having of late.
The interior is pretty cool, it feels modern with the usual TGI style feel and American decor.
I ordered the Gluten-Free Smashed Burger, the gluten-free options are pretty good, you scan the QR code and just use the allergen filters, than a manager took my order, while the manager was friendly, it was a little uncomfortable that I had to order separately to the other people on my table, and I do think it would have been nice if our tables server could have taken the order, with him coming over to explain the allergen handling process, or if he took the entire order.
I do think it's pretty overpriced for the quality of the food, although the loyalty system is handy to get some money back towards rewards on future visits. They have some good deals on cocktails, though and always seem to have offers on such as 241.
My food was fine, but I've certainly had better. The fries were under-seasoned, and the burger was also a little bland. The gluten-free bun was actually pretty good, but didn't hold together well at the bottom; the fillings were nice enough.
Another member of my party went for the steak, which was £30 - again, the steak was fine, but you'd certainly get better for a similar price elsewhere and he mentioned it really needed the peppercorn sauce.
3* - Based on my visit here, I can understand that TGI are struggling, the food quality is fine, and the staff are nice, but for the quality, it's just way too overpriced and they're stuck in the past in more ways than one. read more
