So many other apartments don't seem to be made with the kind of thoughtful touches that make a place easy to live in; our one-bedroom at Fieldstone had everything exactly where we needed it. HUGE walk-in closet in the bedroom, plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen, spacious and well-designed bathroom, TV nook, washer/dryer in unit. The walls are thick; I only ever heard neighbors through our front door when they were in the hallway, or through our windows when they were in the parking lot. (Speaking of which - all of our neighbors were very friendly! Mostly older single people, middle-aged couples, and young military families.) The surrounding neighborhood is fantastic for families and dog-owners - a large park is right across the street, and lots of trails of varying length are also nearby. A shopping center with a Food Lion, sushi place, Subway, etc is a 30 minute walk from the apartments. I always felt very safe in our neighborhood - even while pregnant I would walk along the trails alone without a second thought, and I never heard of any break-ins. Maintenance always replied promptly to any requests. The leasing office was pleasant and dealt fairly and honestly with renters. Commute time through the gates of Fort Meade is about 20 minutes. Odenton proper and the strip of road across from Fort Meade don't have much to do (it's mostly just run-down chains), but the Waugh Chapel area (10 minutes from Fieldstone in the other direction, towards Crofton) is booming. There you can find a brand-new Regal Cinemas, Target, Wegmans, and tons of other stores and restaurants. If you can't tell, we miss our Piney Orchard home. Rent an apartment here for us - you won't regret it!

I've been threatened by the neighbor that lives below for moving stuff during the day when I first moved in and yelled at, and I informed the leasing office of both situations. afterwards in an attempt to retaliate against me the below neighbor complained about me back. every single time I asked the leasing office to give me the times my neighbors claimed I was making noise the leasing office doesn't give an actual time.. this leasing office doesn't actually like to do their job from what I can see and again I've been here less than three months

The amenities here are supposed to be a part of living and paying for a luxury apartment, but here that isn't the case anymore. We used the Community Room for a friendly and fun gathering for the holiday. We were given permission to use the room. After using the room we were first charged $1,000. After retaining an attorney, he advised us that there is nothing in our lease stating that they can charge us for using the room. After receiving the letter from our attorney Christy and Jasimon changed the $1,000 to $500. Which we haven't paid, because it's not valid or fair. I feel like we were targeted for them to get extra money from us for the activities that they have here. People use that room all the time, even the night before we did and they were not charged. A fact that I know! It seems like since management changed, everything has changed for the worst. Why live in a luxury apartment if you can't utilize the amenities that you're paying for? I have had two packages stolen that has still not showed up. Thankfully, the two companies resent my orders to me. This week has been the fourth or fifth time that we had to put in a work order for the microwave. It keeps cutting out, and tripping the breaker. The last time we smelled smoke. I have asked the last maintenance guy to put in an order for a new microwave. We'll see what happens or how long this will take. I pray that living here gets better and back to fun the way it used to be.

If she's not working everyone is goofing off or just laughing in the one girls office. I used to call and get a message to people but not any more. I submitted a service request three weeks ago about my faucet not working in the sink. Called about it. Said it'd be fixed by the end of the week. That was last Friday. Still broken. In short they do not have the same standards as before and it starts in that office. I don't know if it's poor management or what but they need to rethink who they hire and how they work. They are nice. I will say that. But really just goofing off in suits most days. My lease isn't over until December but I am not renewing. Not here.

People are living here on VOUCHERS. The behavior you witness here is something you would expect from a college dorm. Dog feces littered everywhere, poor parking, and screaming. This is NOT a smoke free building despite what they advertise, they do not enforce the policies and I smell weed outside and even my NEW apartment had cigarette stains on the walls when I moved in that they could not clean (see in pictures) THERE IS ZERO SECURITY. Your cars are not safe here. Broken windows and stolen tires ARE CONSISTENT. When I get home I see cars with shattered windows and tires gone. (See in pictures) Management say they're are "collaborating" with law enforcement which just means they called the cops. They are doing NOTHING to make the place safer; ZERO additional camera, ZERO security officers and ZERO extra lighting. And to top it off, for the my kitchen sink is completely broken.

It was explained to us: if we chose the more expensive option, we would pay nothing upon our exit no matter the condition. We left thier office and then returned and had the manager explain it again. We repeated what she was explaining so we understood clearly why we should choose the NON-REFUNDABLE deposit option that COST MORE. We go to move out and we are told the information we were told 6 years ago did not nor never did exist. Basically WE WERE LIED TO. We are now being charged for things like the refrigerator not being cleaned. We did clean it - we cannot reach the mildew / mold. We did not want to live like that. They said we did not clean the oven before leaving and yes, we did clean it. The buttons were all pushed in on the console also. Because we did not report these things during our stay - We are being charged for it. I replaced the carpet in my room with rolled vinyl. No glue or tape... just roll it up and throw it away. I am being charged $150 so they could remove the vinyl which is easier to remove than the carpet, padding and tacks. WARNING: RECORD EVERY CONVERSATION YOU HAVE WITH MANAGEMENT OR ANYONE IN THAT FROM OFFICE WARNING: REPORT EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING THAT GOES WRONG IN THE APPARTMENT OR they will charge you for it. The rest of my review is below - My girlfriend and I looked at apartments in April of 2018 with the plan of moving in to wherever we selected near the beginning of June. We visited Lakehouse and several other apartments in the region. We made the "mistake" of visiting Lakehouse first which sort of soured us on everything after... HOWEVER - this wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The rent here is a bit on the higher side - but Lakehouse is classified as luxury for a reason. The staff are all INCREDIBLY friendly and fast to respond to special requests and maintenance tickets. We had a few things (very minor) that needed fixing or adjustment when we first moved in, and we never had to wait more than one business day for the maintenance folks to resolve issues. Further, the concierge/front desk is even willing to deliver packages to our apartment if you will not be home in time to fetch your packages on your own. We have a weekly HelloFresh delivery that they even unpack and load into our fridge for us! The building is pet friendly ($40 pet rent per pet). We had a few issues with a neighbors dog barking for hours on end but that has calmed down significantly. The staff was quick to get back to us and has always been willing to work on any issues that pop up. Your rent doesn't include utilities - but you only pay $6 per month for trash services (disposal rooms are easy to find and well lit). You pay utilities (both Comcast and Verizon are available for telecom). Electricity is through BGE and through our first month the prices have been affordable. We have laundry machines in our apartment and they are energy star rated - the washer is a bit compact and can't handle that much laundry - but that's the trade-off for saving space and water. Parking is INCLUDED in your rent and the parking garage has ABUNDANT parking (I'm not exaggerating). The garage feels very safe ( I regularly leave radio equipment (for my volunteer gig) in my car and it has not been broken into)). Security guards watch the garage overnight as well. You have control over your climate control as well which is very nice - the balconies are spacious and enough to fit chairs/small table on them. I will definitely reiterate that the major draw here is the staff - they are so friendly and willing to go the extra mile. I hope Bozzuto has no plans to give the building to another management company. There are frequent resident events as well. The rooftop pool is a huge plus - it's never super crowded either. The staff also tends to remember resident names. If you're looking to move to Columbia (easy to reach route 29) you should definitely visit/tour Lakehouse.

I have lived in this complex since 2014, and the problems began in 2016 under property manager P. Kemp, whose behavior I found to be unstable and unprofessional. During my tenancy, I was falsely summoned to court, had my car wrongfully towed, and was approached at my door by the property manager accompanied by a police officer who lives on the property, where I was falsely accused regarding my disability tags. Despite providing proof that my rent was paid on time, I was still charged a late fee. I also reported a tenant who harassed me, yet no appropriate action was taken. When I escalated my concerns to the Vice President of the management company--since the property owner is inaccessible--he yelled at me and dismissed my concerns entirely. Additionally, when maintenance requests are made, the repairs are often incomplete or poorly handled. The staff turnover rate is extremely high, which contributes to the disorganization and lack of accountability. Several Black women in this community have reported experiencing similar harassment and mistreatment. When I raised concerns about the issues I was experiencing, I was met with a notice that my lease would not be renewed and was dismissed by Tony Perichino, the Vice President of their management company. There is no direct access to the property owner. I am currently paying approximately $3,000 per month, including gas, electricity, water, and sewage, for a one-bedroom apartment. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

We were never notified of this matter. [A strategy these companies use so you can't fight it! They don't want you to show up!] The letter also states that we now owe them $20K and the process of Garnishment of Wages has begun. Now the company my husband works for is fully aware. How did they come up with $20K and we were not even in the apt for a month?!! Instead of charging us for the breaking of the "Lease Fee", they stated due to the amount of time the apartment was vacant caused the fee to go up to $20K. This is INSANE! Serenity Place at Dorsey Ridge Apartments (at that time) was fairly NEW; we doubt very seriously they had a hard time putting other people in there. Even still, if the place was unoccupied for even 6 months--$20K still DOES NOT ADD UP! So how did they come to terms that we owed them $20K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today, 2025, they are still haunting us and are causing us such hardship. Received another threatening letter yesterday about this same matter. The balance is now $15K. We do not have this kind of money. Paying them $800 a month is robbery. Also, they will put you in a rental credit database that would hinder you from renting anywhere else. WE REGRET THE DAY WE EVEN LOOKED AT THESE PLACES. DO NOT MOVE HERE. "It's like a Vacation everyday!"…read more I've been here for 8 years and the only issue I've had was with some of the front office staff having a condescending manner ... but that has changed and was individual people so I won't let it take away from my stars as a whole. The staff NOW is awesome. They know everyone and go above to accommodate your needs. I LOVE the maintenance team... they come really fast and are very efficient, "Asaka", is my favorite. The LOCATION is perfect between Baltimore and Dc, close to the airport, walking distance to food and activities, directly off 295 so we never get snowed in, so close to the casino we never experience water or power outages lol .. I definitely think that's plays a part. In comparison to the neighboring properties were missing the concierge and utilities being included, but we're killing on square footage and price. Sidenote: I've been here so long my rent keeps going up lol so I might be leaving soon we've outgrown our 3 bedroom. The AMENITIES are perfect. Who doesn't like a cozy clubhouse, overlooking a glistening pool? Who wouldn't wanna chill in the movie room in plush loungers and watch the game with friends?? With and office efficient printer why would we use the amazing computer room, which is always functional and stocked with ink paper and an empty seat? There's a courtyard with grills and a fire pit , "my fancy little backyard ", because I live very close to it. A newly added dog park. I don't have a dog but it's one here. As well as car cleaning station to vacuum your car and wash it away from the other cars. There's a conference room and most used a fitness center which also give you the refreshing view of the pool whether it be winter or summer, it helps your time on the treadmill go by with a good view. Inside the apartment I have privacy from my kids my room is separated by the living room so we have our own spaces. Two bathrooms. A huge open kitchen. Dog friendly property. To counter those negatives of other reviews: The noise- I live near the street and it's bearable. I only hear neighbors when we have noisy ones but I do complain. Other than that I don't know of the noise people speak of it really isn't any and I'm on the ground level. The cleanliness- the maintenance team will respond and clean whatever is a problem. The hallways are cleaned daily- at least mine is- I see them on my way to work. The common areas are always very very clean. They treat the apartments a couple times a year to prevent bugs. With it being a newer development we used to have theses silver bugs I haven't seen those nor the spiders in a long time now. Rodents... I've never seen mice rats or anything not even a stray cat, an occasional rabbit may hop pas the window tho. The staff- yeah I had that problem too but the present staff is cool. Just a note - people pay a nice amount of money to live here and should be treated as such. The cost- you get what you pay for. It's worth the peace of mind and amazing community. My whole row home fit nicely into this 3 bedroom. The safety- the only way anyone knows how to access this property is if they've been here before. It's gated. Key fob access is used on all the amenities. It's confusing as heck to navigate for strangers, chances are they'll get lost trying to come on the premises to commit any sort of crime. When I first moved here they use to have police ride through sometimes during the night, this was before all the development around not sure if they still do that. I come home and go to work various hours of the early morning or late night and have never encounter anything unsafe. Ok I'm finished! I love where I live and my kids do too. I'm sure anyone looking would love it here.

This is going to be a long one…read more The reasons why it's not a 5-star review: - The lack of consequences for dog feces/urine in the pathways of residents (indoor/outdoor) - The residents don't pick up/clean after their dog's feces/urine (there are bags available and trash bins available throughout the complex) so it's common to step on dog poop while walking on the sidewalk. The smell of feces in the grass too is very unpleasant. - The lack of consequences for unleashed dogs - it's in the leasing agreement and a violation if not followed. While it was a pet friendly apartment - there wasn't much enforcement for any irresponsible dog owners who let their dog unleashed (besides in the dog park). - Fitness center - had only 1 working treadmill for quite some time and some weights were missing, finally by summer 2024, they updated the facility, and it looks great. - Depending on which person in the leasing office is sorting through the mail in the package room, your package may be easy to find or sometimes not. - Lack of consistent notification of when the leasing office is closed. On some holidays, the leasing office team does not give notice if their office is closed. Some holidays aren't observed for residents but at the very least there should be some notice. - Lack of security. For the entire duration of my residency, at least 10 cars have been broken into and or bricked (wheels stolen), even in the parking garage. The culprits targeted Toyota sedans (Corollas, Camry's) and the occasional Honda sedans. It sucks for those residents affected, not sure what was done to mitigate that issue. - A longtime resident I had made friends with even mentioned that the service/maintenance has gone downhill, so they were on their way out after living there for a few years. - Leasing office rarely answers their phone, you're better off emailing them or going in-person. - Residents are driving way too fast in the parking lots and especially the garage that has caused a near hit of residents, their kids, pets, and other cars. - There are only 2 elevators and only 1 can be used for moving-in/moving out and this is in the main building so you're SOL if you're in the other buildings (have to use stairs), or if the freight elevator is broken. There's no loading dock for moves and some locations for a particular apartment isn't convenient for movers = you may be charged more if you're moving in/moving out using moving companies. - The pricey rent did not equate to the overall maintenance of the complex, services, lack of security, and amenities that was offered. The reasons why it's a 3-star review: - Katie's attentiveness and kindness from when I first moved in to all the way till I moved out - she's the reason why this not a 2-star review. - The proximity of the apartment complex, it is so close to many stores, grocery, mall, etc. - The maintenance team. Anytime you need to get something fixed, the maintenance team is really quick. Don't read the apartments(.)com reviews. I was basing my decision to move into this apartment through that site and sorta regret it (moved from CA to MD).
