The food is good. My wife and I have frequented Thai Delight for years, which makes it all the more disappointing to be on the receiving end of extremely scammy, third-world behavior on their part. My wife's side of the family was all in town for a visit and we took them here for my mother-in-law's birthday. At the end, each of the five couples were given a handheld payment machine that did not provide an itemized bill but only a number which we were led to believe was the pre-tip subtotal. The numbers were significantly larger than we were all expecting but the bill was not itemized, so we had no way to see why it was high and no one was in the mood to contest. We assumed we had simply misread the menu. Immediately after paying what we believed was the pre-tip subtotal, the machine asked for a tip that began at 20%. We assumed this was the normal tip and all tipped 15-20%. After I got in the car, I thought to myself, "There's no way that was the right amount." I went back inside and asked for a receipt. She printed and handed me a non-itemized receipt. I then said, "No, I would like an itemized receipt." She printed it off for me and there it was: they charged a 20% gratuity that was never disclosed and then deceptively asked for another 20% tip on top. When confronted and asked for a refund on the double tips for all five families at the table, they provided a refund and pointed me to their menu which contained, in the very fine print, a disclaimer that all parties above five people would be charged 20% gratuity. So their legal bases might be covered, though one could certainly still make an argument for deceptive practices. There should be no expectation of having to read the fine print on a restaurant menu. But even if it's legal, and I'm not sure that it was given the clear intent to deceive, that doesn't change the fact that the behavior is scammy, third-world bullcrap that does not belong in America. I see that the owner claims on another comment that they provide, in addition to the machine, a handwritten, itemized bill that displays the 20% fee. This is false. One member of our party who specifically asked for an itemized bill received a handwritten note that was entirely illegible scribbles. The others, including myself, did not receive anything other than the handheld machine with the deceptive "subtotal". We are sad to lose one of our go-to spots, but, on principle, we will not support businesses that treat us and our fellow Oklahomans this way. Especially if they are going to lie to us afterwards and pretend it was our fault rather than acknowledge their actions and clear intent to defraud. read more

If you like this place, you've not had real Thai food OR you don't like real Thai food. And how do you mess up steamed rice? How is it possibly overcooked and crunchy in the same bite? The cheese rolls are way way too sweet. They do not have carrots as advertised and they were not fully cooked through (spring roll wrapper was still raw/unappealingly chewy on the inside). I did not eat the food I purchased here. To top off all that, the prices on the menu do not reflect the prices on the receipt or the total at checkout. My wife and I have been coming here for years. As far as the food, it's a 10/10 and beyond every time (especially for the price). I think it makes for a great casual date with an atmosphere. The service is prompt and concise. Dietary restrictions are not an issue so long as you can accept a recommendation if you're unable to navigate your own allergies. It had loads of flavor and tons of sauce but was a little skimpy on the chicken compared to the other vegetables. The Pad Thai was yummy! It had a deeper umami flavor than most pad thais. The Thai fried dumplings were underwhelming, but they served their purpose. Service was pretty slow, but they looked somewhat understaffed in general. Stumbled upon here one day because of the large amount of reviews! I dined in here on a weekday right when they opened. There were tons of open spaces and i noticed tables set up enough for rather large parties. They had an awesome lunch menu everything from bento boxes to single sushi rolls or orders of pad thai which you get to pick one side for $10. My food was pretty good the chicken pad Thai was just the right amount of spice i got a level 2 out of 5. The ginger salad was not great the dressing was watered down so i just took one bite of that. All menu pics and even the menu on their website is incorrect, so we were shocked to say the least because we had looked at the menu before going there tonite. Chicken pad Thai was really good!! Priced at $9.99, it's the best value in the OU campus area. I ordered for pickup, and was pleased with the sanitary conditions in light of the COVID-19 crisis. The noodles were the perfect consistency. I ordered medium spicy , which was perfect for my small love of spicy but I can't handle a lot of heat. The lady on the phone said it would be ready in 20 min. Once I got there, the food was ready for me to pick up. Generous portion, and it ended up giving me two servings. The pad thai was flavorful but oily, so it upset my stomach for a bit. There is also not a lot of tofu, and it would be great if the tofu could have been fresher. We have eaten here for many years. We love the delicious food and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We were there about 3 weeks ago and it was enough to not want to go back. The food was still delicious but the two waitresses were extremely rude and kept trying to get us to leave. We had plenty of time to eat before they closed! It has made all 3 of us not want to go back. They absolutely ruined the meal and evening for us. Upon entering the restaurant there was no greeting. The girl immediately said "You have one hour"! I almost turned around then. She proceeded to check back on us, not to see if we needed anything but kept hounding us about the time! I wanted to speak to the manager or owner but he was nowhere to be seen. He would usually greet us. My advice: make sure owner is there or if they don't greet you turn around and walk out. We ALWAYS get the Pad Thai with chicken and the Pad See Ew with chicken + veggies. Lately we vary from Yellow Curry to Kao Soi. I hadn't tried Kao Soi before and was unsure of what to expect but omg its so so good, it's curry with noodles and then crunchy noodles on top. I would just.fo.order it and try for yourself how delicious it is! The yellow curry was fantastic and then the next time a little different, not bad, just not as creamy the last time we got it. Thai Delight has been a Norman staple for years. I've been going here regularly for years now and even if you have a picky eater, the menu is large and expansive. While I personally love Thai food, especially laab, lad na, and anything with fried tofu, they offer Japanese food like katsu (deep fried meat cutlets) for anyone who does not like Thai food.
